Last year I entered the Memory Makers Masters Challenge. This was one of my entries. The topic was supposed to be about something we wish. I thought that many people would enter birthday pages and such. Mine was about Cortney. I photographed her from behind so the wheelchair was prominent. I also included two smaller pics that include her diagnosis and part of her IEP. In Adobe Photoshop I added the title, I Wish. The paper was Basic Grey. I typed the journaling and cut it into strips. Obviously it was never published, and I don't even have the original.....but I did make a color copy of it.)
Here is what the journaling reads:
I wish you and Kyle could fight over toys or the television
I wish you and Kyle could play board games together
I wish I didn't have to fight to get you the best medical care
I wish car rides weren't so hard for you
I wish everything that could help you wasn't so expensive
I wish you could share your hopes and dreams with me
I wish I could watch you get your heart broken by your first love...
I wish I could cringe the first time you drive a car
I wish I could fight with you over curfew
I wish I could see you off to college
I wish I could watch you receive your diploma
I wish I could watch your father walk you down the aisle on your wedding day
I wish I could hold your child someday.....
I wish things could be different sweet girl....but God has different plans for you....my wishes
are not His wishes.
I guess I have to see what path God chooses for you.......

Happy 4 You!
This is another stamp by Artful Inkables. (Did I mention that I LOVE Kristin's stamps!) I colored the image with my Copics. I stamped the sentiment using Karen Foster's Snap Stamps. The number 4 was cut using my Quickutz. (Yep, blew the dust off that baby!) The felt flowers are by Making Memories. The paper? Have no idea right now.....and I am way too lazy to go upstairs to see who makes it!
If you get a chance pop on over to JoAnne's blog, My Adventures in Cardmaking, for some fantastic blog candy! She is an "old" veteran over at SCS, (Stamps 4 sanity). She just started a blog a few weeks ago due to the prodding of Sharon (Dew Drop Inn Designs), Kim (Crafty Me), Simone (Daily Dose of Spazz), and of course myself! She would love to get some new visitors!

Quite a Challenge!
Just a quick post tonight as it is getting very late! This is my take on Ashley's Brainwave challenge. I struggled with this a bit.....I guess that is why it is called a CHALLENGE? I am a very basic card maker......just cut my sheet of cardstock in half and fold! So this unusual fold and belly band were tough for me. The paper is Daisy D's. The image is by Treehouse Stamps. I used my SU! punches and my white gel pen to add some faux stitching to the belly band. (There is some real stitching too!)
Head on over to Treehouse to see their new releases this week!
I am thinking of starting an Etsy shop.....any advice?

My Not So Perfect Soldering!
My mom and step-mom requested some bookmarks after seeing the teacher ones I had made a week ago. So for mother's day I made each of them one. Both images are from Lockhart Stamps. They were both colored in with Copics. I cut the squares to a 1 x1 size. I soldered the pieces with no problem. I even got my edges a bit smoother. I EVEN got the bottom jump ring on without using swear words! LOL! But.......The top filigreed piece was a different story! I could NOT get the solder to NOT go in the crevices. When I would heat it up again, the whole filigreed piece would fall off. After an hour or so of putzing I gave up. So don't click on it to make it larger, or you will see my not so perfect filigreed topper.......*sigh*
Anyway, I also decorated a little tin to go with the bookmark. That was much easier than the soldering! LOL!

Happy Mother's Day!
Well, technically it is still Mother's Day.....
Here's hoping your day was great! Just a quick post tonight.....as I am very tired! I have been fighting a headache all weekend long, which doesn't make for a very fun weekend. This was a card I made awhile ago when I was guest designer over at Crafty Secrets. The cherry image, border and cute photo turns are all Crafty Secrets. I used my SU! punches, added some "kitcheny" looking ribbon, and added crystal lacquer and glitter to the cherries. You would swear by looking at this card that I was quite the cook.......NOT! Lately, all we have been doing is eating out. It is pretty sad when your 11 year old looks at you and says, "Mom, I am sick and tired of fast food! Could we just eat at home?"
