I created a LO using Noel's newest kit, called Mill Street. (sold out!) What was the scrappy subject you ask? My DH and I. Brian thought it would be funny to hand over the camera to Kyle and "eat" our apple together. Pretty romantic huh? It ended up in fits of giggles and laughter instead! Yep..........we are total dorks! : ) One would think that after 16 years of marriage we would grow up...........nah! : )
Cort made it through the day yesterday. She did really well until the afternoon, when she started getting a wee bit bored. At one point it was nice and quiet in the classroom....the kids working hard....when we hear, (very loudly) "Go HOME, Go Home!" My students burst out laughing. (I'm so glad I amuse them. : ) Maybe next time I should try harder to get a sitter? LOL! So today she is going again with me. Friday is art day in the afternoon.....so it will be noisy....better to hide her loud cries to, GO HOME!
Have a fantastic weekend!!!

Switchin' Gears....
Lately, I seem to be hopping between Halloween cards and Christmas cards. I guess today it will be Christmas! I used a Crafty Secret's Creative Scrap paired up with Basic Grey, vintage music paper, and Kraft card stock. I did a bit of distressing and sewing too. Last year I made a bunch of these vintage "sugared" snowflakes. ( Don't know if people would be interested, but I was thinking of doing a tutorial on how I make them? What do ya think? )
I tied a SU! button and flower to the center with twine and added it to a pretty Papertrey ribbon. I always feel these final touches are what make my cards complete! : )
No school for Cort today. This means she is spending the day.....all day..... at work with me. She really thinks she owns the school......cuz she will spend the day wheeling around, peeking into people's classrooms. And the highlight of her day? Eating lunch in the teacher's lounge. Yep...she is a real big shot! : ) I just hope the students receive her well. I never know what to expect. So, wish me luck! Off to get us both ready!

More Gooseberry.....
Happy Wednesday to ya'll! Here is the other card I created using those cute Gooseberry stamps. I stamped them on Papertrey white paper and colored these yummy cupcakes with my Copics. I cut them out, used Crystal Effects on the icing and some glitter. The sentiment is a Melissa Frances rub on.
I finished it off with a lil' bow, button, and stick pins......
My girl started cheerleading yesterday. She was so excited to see all of her friends and was cheering her little heart out! She also "made" the choir at school. She has practice on Thursdays and she has been singing Christmas songs all week. I can't wait to see her perform at Christmas! : ) Kyle joined chess club and drama. He seems to be making a few friends and even went down to the park yesterday on his roller blades. He called me to tell me he was staying for awhile to watch some boys play football. He is trying......and I couldn't be more pleased.

Walking for diabetes today at school.......wearing red....and some good walking shoes! : )
Have a great day!!!

Do You Like.......
Gooseberry Patch? Their cookbooks? Craft Books? Or ordered any of their cute lil' knickknacks and such? I have......many times.
So I couldn't have been more thrilled to see that Gooseberry has come out with their own line of stamps! I saw them at the store I was at for the 12 hour crop this past Saturday, and HAD to have them! Let me just say....not only are they adorable images, but they stamp beautifully!

I've made several cards with this set.....and this is the first one. I stamped the cake topper and platter on vellum with Staz On. I cut both pieces out. The cake was stamped on Papertrey Ink white cardstock and colored with Copics. It was also cut out. I used vellum adhesive to adhere the platter to the cardstock and the cake topper to the cake. I used a square pop dot to the back of the cake to give it some dimension. The paper, tag, and rub on are by Melissa Frances. The border was done with a Martha Stewart border punch. I added some stitching and a pretty glass button.
I have another card to share with you using this set, tomorrow! If you are interested in their stamp sets, go HERE! Am I an enabler or what??? : )
Have a great one!!!
Halloween Treat Bags....
Hope your weekend was fabulous! Mine was great! Saturday I hung out with my scrappy girlfriends. We ate, talked, laughed our butts off, and scrapped for 12 straight hours! And.....I actually managed to get a few LO's done! We always have a great time when we get the chance to "catch up." Sunday was a "Stay in Your Jammies" kind of day. We switched over our summer/winter clothes and I cooked a nice Sunday dinner. We even cracked open a bottle of wine with dinner. (And yes.....we ate in our PJ's! ) After dinner we played a game of Scrabble with Kyle, while Brian listened to the Bear's game in the background. It was just one of those weekends that are sort of warm and fuzzy! : )
I work with two other 5th grade teachers, and I wanted to make them little Halloween treat bags. I filled them with Ghiradelli chocolate and some cute packages of hot cocoa. (They were super cute....but of course I forgot to take a picture of 'em!) I used the Crafty Secret's Postcard kits to dress the bags up. They made the bags look cute and it didn't take all that much time to do! I added some pretty fall embellishments and a lil' tag for their names.
On the Friday before Halloween, these babies will be sitting on their desks! Then when they need a bit of a pick me up....they can crack the bags open to get at some of that yummy chocolate!

I made homemade French Onion soup yesterday for today's dinner. (The directions said it actually tastes better when it sits a day or two....) I am really enjoying trying all of these new recipes! Watch out Bobby Flay! : )
Have a FANTASTIC Monday!! Thanks for visiting me today!
