11 years ago I delivered this cutie pie! He has always been Mr. Personality since day one. I used to call him my Renaissance Man because he dabbled in a bit of everything. Today, he is smart, quick witted, a history buff, a night owl, and the best kid a parent could ask for!
To celebrate this....I am offering some blog candy. What do you get? A square punch, Autumn Leaves stamps, white note cards, Cuttlebug die cuts and a piano die cut. What do you have to do? Tell me if I am the only crazy one out there who actually gets sad at their kid's birthday! I just can't believe where the time goes......before you know it he will be off to college.....getting married........*sigh*.
Happy birthday - he is so handsome! And no, you are not the only one! My baby just turned 11 on the 16th of January, and my oldest will be 19 in March and left for college this past summer. I have yet to recover - I am definitely not one of those moms who can't wait for her kids to leave, I love having them around, doing things with them, loving them! I am very close to my three and every birthday I cringe knowing they are getting a year closer to leaving my "nest"! So, enjoy him and all his fun little personality things that make him special!! Great blog candy too Michele - very great to offer this on HIS birthday! *STAMPIN HUGS* Alex
ReplyDeleteHe is one handsome young man, Happy Birthday
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday !!!!! To youuuuuuu !
ReplyDeleteI don't have children but love my nieces and nephew. They grow up so quick. I've seen them since they were little babies. You're not the only feeling that sadness. My oldest niece Hannah is going to her first concert next week...she's a teenager now and I remember her as a tiny child ! That's it, I need to stop now because the waterworks will start! LOL The best thing to do is just enjoy their birthdays take lots of pictures (although they don't want to have their pictures taken....they will be thankful as adults that you preserved their memories) and sob out of sight ! Fab X
since I dont do Christmas, birthdays and unbirthdays make my day. My youngest is 30 and my grand daugther is 18. I need more babies to play with. sad, no as they are all grown up. I was too busy when they were small to have time to sit and be sad. now I just nag the newlyweds.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm with ya sister! My baby is 15 and we're starting to look at colleges. Scary. Seriously scary. I don't want him to leave!! (Not sure I'd want him to stay forever, but...) JR
ReplyDeleteWell Happy Birthday! I always tell my girls that geishas wrap their feet to keep them tiny so I'm gona just wrap up their whole body to keep them tiny and not grow up on me! lol I can't believe I have a 14/almost 15yr old and a 2yr old!!! Crazy...where does the time go?
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing w/ us!!!
~Lana B.~
No, I'm pretty sure you're not the only one! My baby is only 18 months, so not too many birthdays under my belt yet, but the older she gets the less she looks like my baby and more like my little girl! It is sort of sad...
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome young man! Hope he had a spectacular bday!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say that I am really at that point yet. My girls are still pretty young 6 and almost 5. But I can see it coming soon! :0)
Awe, what a cute son you have! :) I don't have kids yet so I can't relate on that one with yah! Thanks for the chance at winning blog candy!
ReplyDeleteNicole L.
Happy Birthday to Kyle. What a cute kid! I know what you mean about growing up much too quickly & never wanting them to leave home. Mine are both adults now, & it was rough at first. But once the grandkids start arriving, the fun begins all over again:)
ReplyDeleteHope Kyle had a great birthday.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter will be 18 in March, which although is exciting, means that she won't live with us for much longer. I got terribly upset when trawling through the uni open days. Now that she's made her choice, it all seems to be coming closer very quickly. (she proudly told me that she only has 3 months left at school!)
Thanks for this offer.

Happy Birthday Kyle! Wow count me in on this sweet celebrate candy. You ROCK with your RAK! Love the pictures of Kyle...he's a cutie!!! You are not the only one that feels that way. When they get older you have to let go and let them figure things out themselves. That's the hardest thing to do, cuz you can't control the situation or protect them like when they were little. I just aways hope they listened to us alittle bit.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a chance.

Happy Birthday to a lovely young man.
ReplyDeleteAlison
My babies are 5 and under and although I love celebrating with them it is bittersweet because the more they have the older the get! LOL! Happy Birthday little man! Lisa K
ReplyDeleteNice looking boy! My babies are 19 and 21. I think back to when they were just babies and wonder where have I been the past 21 years???!!!! I miss those little babies so much and yes, their birthdays are sad for me too cause I don't want to see them growing up so fast. They both have their own apartments but to me they are still too little to be on their own!! hehe
ReplyDeleteMy life has felt like a whirlwind. My daughters were babies and then they were grown up, or least that is what it felt like.
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of your son. The older you get, the faster time goes, which also makes me sad.

Hi,
ReplyDeleteYour son is a real cutie! And, no, you're not the only one - I get teary every birthday. They just grow up so darn fast and a part of me wants to keep them little forever.
Kerry Morgan
WHat a Cutie!!!!Happy birthday !!!My baby will be turning 11 in March .....Makes me feel Older .ehehehheheehhe THey grow up way tooo fast !!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, he is such a cutie!!
ReplyDeleteI don't have kids but have neices and nephews and cannot believe how fast they grow up!
Oh, yes. I know exactly what you mean. My kids will turn 22, 20 and 17 this year. Makes me feel old and want them to be babies again.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! and of course you're not! LOL...I cry everytime one of my boys has a birthday...great pics, and love the invitation too!
ReplyDeleteWhat great photographs! My baby is 17!! My oldest is a Marine helicopter pilot with two Iraq tours behind him already! Lots of crying over birthdays. Since you're a scrapbooker, let me suggest something I did for my own 50th birthday. Since I had very few photos of my childhood, I borrowed my parents photos, scanned them into my computer, added to them, and made what I call my 50 book, a 360 page digital scrapbook of my life and thoughts. It's called Mystory and has two volumes since it got too big for one scrapbook. I counted all my blessings and have pages about all my kids in it -- and asked them each to make a page or two about me to go into the book. I enjoyed it immensely and now my grandchildren (when I get any) can read about my life.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY B-DAY (belated) to your Laddie. They do grow up so fast. I look at my daughter who is 8 and wonder where all the time has gone. seems like yesterday they were are babies and then you blink to reveal young adults. Best wishes, and may a great year lie ahead of him!
ReplyDeleteHappy 11th! Mine is only 5 months behind him:) Hey, let's do an arranged marriage - your boy and my girl. At least we know we'll like the in-laws:)
ReplyDeleteHYappy Birthday Kyle! Hope he had a great day!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!! OH no worries I get sad everytime one of my kiddos has a birthday! I just reminds me that it was so much more long ago that I was younger! Plus, it reminds you that time goes buy so fast and you don't want to miss one thing! Thanks for a chance to win awesome blog candy!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!
ReplyDeleteMy son is 3 and just started preschool. I think when he starts kindergarten I will be bawling! He's our only one so we only get to live these moments once.
Jennifer
Your son is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI don't get sad on their birthdays, not much anyway, sometimes, look at them and think, my goodness, where did the time go?? My dd will be 12 in May and it seems like just yesterday we brought her home!!
Happy Birthday Kyle! Thanks for a chance to win your blog candy
ReplyDeleteAnna
Time goes by so quickly!
ReplyDeleteHe is very handsome!
I know what you mean....my oldest is 11, turning 12 this summer. What happened? Where did those 12 years go??? It's crazy daisy.
ReplyDeleteSay a big Happy Birthday to Kyle :)
Happy birthday to you handsome young man! They grow so quickly, don't they? Thanks for celebrating with us :)
ReplyDeleteOh no, you aren't the only one to get sad! My baby will be two in a few weeks and I just can't believe it. Where have these two years gone? That is great candy too. Very generous of you!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your handsome son...I've never been sad about my children's birthdays...never even occurred to me...they're always with you no matter how old they are...thanks for the chance at your great giveaway!!

ReplyDeleteOH wow, what a handsome fella! :) It goes by so quickly! Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. My daughter is going to turn 3 soon and I agree time really flies.
ReplyDeleteSara
Happy Birthday big guy! No, you are not the only one. My babies will be 13 and 11 within the next two months. MY BABIES!!! I tell them to stop growing but it doesn't work LOL. God has taught me to just enjoy the time as it comes and soon enough we will be Grandma's - YAY! I am going to be the best Grandma (when the time is right!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and helping me to realize I'm not the only one who feels this way too LOL.

My oldest son turns 4 next month and I have to tell you, I cry every year when we sing "Happy Birthday" to him! Time flies by way too quickly! My youngest is 2....maybe it's time for another????
ReplyDeleteBy the way, your "little" man share a birthday with my Dad. I hope you had as much fun celebrating with you family as we did with Dad.
Birthday hugs all around! -Krissy
i hate how fast they grow. i really love them little and enjoy them now. i agree that i don't like it when they are another year older. happy birthday. he is very cute! (handsome)
ReplyDeleteI don't have children yet, but I think I understand what you mean. I help refugee children in primary school with their homework and I often think how they would be when they grow up. I think that uncertainty also frightens us a bit. Just enjoy every moment!
ReplyDeleteMy baby just turned eleven too! I just can't believe it. Mine turned 11 on the 25th of January. My oldest, though, will be 21 this summer. Eeeegads...is that really possible? This is fantastic blog candy. I'm really hoping!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNope- not the only one. My kids are only 1 and 3 but I am already sad at how fast they are growing up and that I own't do any of the 'firsts' again :(
ReplyDelete-Karen
It may not be exactly the same, but sort of. My "baby" is an American bulldog. Dog life spans are so short and I want him to be with me forever. Birthdays remind me that the clock is ticking.
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle, Happy Birthday to your son! My son David just turned 18! I think that life will be pretty empty without the kids around in the home!
ReplyDeleteI share your thoughts!
Jacqueline
Michelle, you are not "crazy" at all. You sound like a loving mama to me. Happy 11th Birthday kiddo!
ReplyDeleteDesi
Happy, Happy Birthday....you have a very good looking young man! I have two sons, one will be 25 and the other 20 - they grow up so fast!! Thanks for the chance! :o)

ReplyDelete"Happy Birthday " to your handsome young man...nooo I still get emotional and my children are 26 and 25...years old...Wait till you have grandchildren youll be even more emotional...but "Whoever got prosecuted for loving their kids sooo much"?
ReplyDeleteAnyway hope you had a great time!!!:)xxx
Happy birthday to your son and many birthday blessings!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are not the only one. My sister goes though a box of kleenex all the time when my nieces turn a year older.
It is something to see your children grow into adulthood. My oldest is in college and little Ellie just started walking. There's a whole lot to appreciate in life by being parents and you are such an awesome Mommy.
Hugs,
Nancy Grant
AWESOME candy!!! Happy birthday to your cutie pie (love the dimples!). Right now I'm at the phase where I am happy for my daughter's birthday (she just turned 3). I'm happy because she is getting more independent and I can have a life again!! I'm sure there will be a time when I get sad though!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Cheryl KVD

ReplyDeleteLinda
I think you have to take this one thing at the time! yesterday my 4 years old girl told me she is anxious to be driving!!! How can she want to drive at 4 years old! Go figure! lol
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you!! You have been a mom for one year more then last!! Some birthdays come with sorrow and some with joy!! And some with very large wish lists!! ;-D
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your son!!!

Happy Bday Kyle!!!
ReplyDeleteMax says "hey!" and we hope to see you guys soon!!
I must be the only "older" one visiting here today - my dd will be 51 next week! I'm so lucky to have wonderful grandkids & great-grandkids!
ReplyDeleteYour young man is going to be a lady killer in a couple more years!
NancyS (momsnack)
Michele, I get sad at my kids' birthdays because it's such a bittersweet day. Dustin will be 17 on Friday. Both he and Travis have facial hair. Who ever heard of babies with facial hair??? I am like Alexandra, I want my kids here forever. I'd love to build a bigger house as my kids bring their spouses here to live. My 22 year old still sleeps in our basement, and I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else. It isn't a crime or anything you need to be ashamed of, loving your children enough that watching them grow up and knowing what it means causes you a touch of sadness. Hope his birthday is wonderful and that you all had/have a great time!!
ReplyDeleteYour son is such a handsome guy!! I get a little teary eyed on birthdays...I hope the birthday celebrations go well!!
ReplyDeleteNo! You are not the only one who gets sad at birthdays! Your son is so adorable, so handsome I should say :) Time does go by way to fast.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my blog, I just found yours too, love your creations!
http://paperblossoms.blogspot.com
He is a handsome boy..they outgrow the term CUTE...lol
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel..they grow too fast...I still sit and look at their "early years" photo's and wonder where has that time gone so fast!
Just ENJOY them all you can!!
Thanks for a chance to WIN blog candy.
Dee
No, you are NOT crazy! We were watching a show last night where the Mom of the family was helping her daughter learn how to drive. They go to the DMV and the scene that had me choked up is when the Mom stood by the building watching her daughter drive away with the DMV Clerk for the driving test. Our oldest will be 15 this year and I got all choked up because she is not far from that stage in life. It's hard to believe that our children grow up so fast....where does time go?!? Thanks for the chance for some great blog bling!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday and what a Handsome Son!
ReplyDeleteI can certainly relate with you...I had 5 kids and every birthday felt like a little tug in my heart. They get to be adults and it gets better...you appreciate the wonderful human beings they become and don't tell them that on their birthdays you are still actually remembering and reviewing the precious years when they were very little.
Great Blog Candy!! TFS
Your son is so handsome! Happy Birthday!! I don't think your crazy at all. My oldest is turning 3 in a month and I'm already stressing out about pre-k. Thinking about it makes me tear up so in my eyes you're not crazy at all...you're a Mom! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday to your son Michelle, I dont have kids, but if I did I probably would get upset too :) thanks Michelle for sharing, really sweet of you xx
ReplyDeleteAwww....Happy Birthday to him!! ;)
ReplyDeleteYou know, nobody warned us when we decided to have kids that they would grow up so fast!! Where does the time go??
Hope the day was great!
I don't have a kid but my dad says he always feels old on my birthday. Not his birthday, my birthday.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice looking boy! My baby boy turns 30 in a couple of weeks. YIKES - that means I'm old!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.wowprincess.com/anita/
He is quite handsome and no you are NOT crazy for getting sad at each birthday. My youngest turned 5 in November and I thought I was going to cry. My oldest will be 10 next month and I have a feeling I WILL be crying for that one. Time flies by so fast. We need to cherish every moment we have we our precious children, even though they may drive us completely insane!! ;)
ReplyDeleteHope he had a fabulous birthday!
Happy Bday to him. It's amazing how fast kids grow. The one picture of your son looks so much like my friend kid. It's almost a complete match. Remember He is always your BABY!! :)
ReplyDeleteI can definately relate to how your feeling. My son is just about 17 and my daughter is 4. I cannot believe that in 1 more year he'll be graduating, they sure do grow up fast :o(
ReplyDeleteP.S. - thanks for the chance at winning some blog candy :o)
I'm not so sad on their birthdays. but when they get married it' much sadder.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Little Man! I always get a little sad around the boys' birthdays. That just means a year closer to them leaving the house and not needing me so much. I'm not ready for that! Thanks for the chance for some blog candy!
ReplyDeleteNo kids for me, but it is hard to watch my nieces and nephews grow up.
ReplyDeleteI totally understand and my baby is only going to be 2 in April. On his first b-day I was sad because he wasn't a baby anymore and I already worry about the day he goes to school, drives, dates, goes to college, I think you get the point! I am glad you have such a great kid! Happy B-day to all of you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for a chance to win some great blog candy !
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday buddy !
Happy birthday to your handsome young man :) I don't have any children but I have two dogs that seem to grow before my eyes :)
