Looking on the Bright Side....

If you are a regular to my blog you will know from past posts that my handicapped accessible van has had lots of trouble. I've had the ramp fixed several times in the 2 1/2 years I've owned it, the air conditioning has gone out, I've need new brakes, new tires, and a whole list of other problems. Why? Because when you buy a handicapped van, the company that makes it accessible literally tears your brand new van apart and puts it back together again, but differently to accommodate a wheelchair. The suspension and all of the parts underneath are rerouted. So a simple problem becomes very complex. Why am I telling you this? (I think I needed to vent to be honest...) I was in an accident on Friday night. An elderly woman did not slow down at a red light, instead she slammed into the car behind me, which then slammed into me, then I hit the car in front of me. 4 cars total were involved. The car behind me was wedged underneath my bumper and punctured a hole in my gas tank. The lovely police ( I say with an edge of sarcasm...) never had me turn my car off, instead they used some goop to fill the hole and told me not to drive the van, except to my house. I guess as long as someone didn't throw a match at my van I would be ok. (again....with a hint of sarcasm....) The lady behind me and the elderly lady were both taken to the hospital. It was a very nerve racking night.

So now, I am dealing with the insurance, the adjusters, the police department, and I am without transportation for my daughter and me. And through all this red tape, aggravation, and an occasional tear, I am still grateful. No one was hurt, my insurance company is taking care of me, I have people at work willing to help me, drive me, whatever I need, and Cort's bus company changing their route to make sure she comes to the house instead of my school where she was getting dropped off. In the whole scheme of things, this is minor and I know that.

So because Cort was on my mind, and she was in the van with me when the accident occurred, and she is the complicating factor in my life, while at the same time being the ray of sunshine......

Here she is ......

She is one cool chick....and I AM grateful for her.....even if I do whine occasionally......LOL!

  10. Sometimes you just have to 'vent' when you feel overwhelmed and no one can chastise you for that. We can never know how another deals with 'life' unless we walk in their shoes.

Now to your wonderful page, your labyout is great and your daughter's photo is so happy and cute.
