Cort joined a "special" cheerleading squad this year that consists of 7 girls. They cheer for the basketball teams every Saturday. Today was the first day they got to wear their uniforms! The girls must have known that they looked "official" because they cheered their little hearts out! I don't know what is cuter the cheerleading squad or watching the kids play basketball. It is the best hour of my week to watch these children! I just had to share my proud mommy moment with you!
My thoughts and ideas for cardmaking and an occasional altered project!

I don't know what the weather is like by you, but let me just tell ya, in Chicago it is COLD! Our schools have been closed since Thursday! Sometimes you gotta love those unexpected days off! I haven't done much in the way of creating, but I did do laundry and clean my house. And my best friend came over for a visit.
In the wee hours of the night, is when I seem to create. I used Crafty Secret's newest set called, Lucky Wishes. I colored this guy with my Copics and gave him some bling to his ring and turban! The glass globe was stamped on a transparency and embossed in gold. I randomly stamped dice around making sure not to stamp where the clear globe would be. See that ticket border? Yep, it is part of this set too! Super cute! To finish it off I used some string and a button.
I was awarded this award by my new blogger friend Ivy. She is a fellow Chicagoan and is freezing her butt off just like me! : ) I am supposed to list 7 things I LOVE. So here it goes:
1. I love when all my laundry is caught up........which rarely EVER happens!
2. I love anything that smells good.....air fresheners, candles, perfume, laundry detergent.....etc.
3. I love my family and friends! Without them I'd be in a loony bin!
4. This hobby that allows me to escape from life's troubles for awhile........and keeps me out of therapy or addiction........ok maybe this hobby IS an addiction! : )
5. My job! I love what I do! 5th graders are the best.......they get my sarcasm.......
6. My new dog Skippers.......he truly is the most lovable little guy ever!
7. Going out alone with the hubby........which doesn't happen nearly as often as I'd like........
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great weekend!!!!!!!

Bouquet of Joy
I am so enjoying all the new releases coming out by Crafty Secrets! Check out Sandy's blog to see all the cute sets coming out. Many are ready to buy now! This set is a mini set called Bouquet of Joy. This little girl is holding the most gorgeous bouquet! (Maybe my kids need to take a lesson from this girl.......I only get those droopy dandelions! LOL!) I colored the image in with my Copics. I added glitter to the centers of the flowers as well as the sentiment. The sentiment was cut used my Nesties. I layered it on top of some sheer posies. The background was Cuttlebugged. I added some ribbon and stick pins.
I love this glitter I bought from Craft Fancy. It is the glitter I used the other day. It is from Japan and it is super sparkly! It's the little things in life that make me happy! : )
Stop on by the Crafty Secret's blog for a wonderful giveaway! Sandy is giving one large, one medium, and one small stamp set to one lucky winner!!!
Have a great day! Keep warm! (I know I am going to try!) : )

Little Dancer
Crafty Secrets has been cranking out all of these fabulous new sets!!! This little gal is part of a small set called Little Dancer. It is available now for purchase! I used her on my card a few posts ago and HAD to use her for my niece's dance recital pictures. I colored her in with my Copics and added bling to her crown and waistband. Of course I colored her to match my cutie pie niece! I used a circular rub on I had in my stash to place around her.
For the rest of this LO, I layered some vintage music paper, Melissa Frances, and Making Memories paper. I used tulle and stick pins to finish it off.
Check out the Crafty Secret's blog to see all the new sets coming out!! One is cuter than the next!!!
Happy Birthday........Snail Style!
Happy Tuesday! It is snowing like CRAZY here..........AGAIN! Just pile on another 8 inches on top of the foot we already have........no really, I don't mind shoveling for the millionth time.....really.......
This week's Bitten by The Bug challenge was to use the snail cut, from the A Walk in the Garden cartridge. I used my new pad of Basic Grey paper and some Papertrey Ink ribbon. This glitter is super sparkly. It is from Japan, and I just purchased it from Craft Fancy. I cut the label with the Sizzix die cut.

I tied the sentiment to his neck because I figured he couldn't "carry" it any other way! He has no hands you know!!! Ha ha! I crack myself up.......ok, I know, don't quit my day job.......
I think I am tired and I am a bit slap happy. Stress will do that to a gal.......
Cortney is seeing a new neurologist and geneticist tomorrow. She has been undiagnosed for the last 13 years. ( When people ask what is wrong with her, I tell them Cerebral Palsy.....because it is just easier). We went through a ton of testing years ago with no luck. IT is hard not knowing what went wrong with your baby. There is a huge part of me that still needs to know. So keep your fingers and toes and any other body parts that can cross, crossed! Maybe now, the docs can give us some answers.
Till tomorrow! Ciao!

My Goals....
Noel Mignon is hosting a challenge to scrap your goals for 2009. I chose 6 goals.....I thought it might actually be something I could stick to! I want to attend church more regularly, be more thoughtful, send more cards instead of hoarding them, take a summer class, get published again, and be more organized. (My house is an organizational nightmare!) I used bits and pieces of Noel's Love Story kit. The "tic-tac-toe" pattern was done with my sewing machine. I printed my goals directly to the tags from my printer. (Cuz I HATE my handwriting!)
I kept the LO simple........(Which is very hard for me!)

On a sad note, a teacher from my school passed away today. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer about 6 weeks ago. It unfortunately had spread to her liver and other organs. She was a spirited, wonderful, giving lady. She was a fellow stamper, and I loved sharing ideas with her.......she will be greatly missed.
