My baby girl was born. 8 lbs 10 oz. 20 inches long. 7:12 A..M. It seems like a lifetime ago........little did we know the ride we were about to embark on. She has brought joy into our lives, and has made even the littlest things seem big.....important. We have learned to never take things for granted.....be happy in the everyday, seemingly ordinary things. She has taught us patience.....probably more than I ever thought I had in me. She tugs at my heartstrings every single day......her struggles, her successes. At times my heart breaks for her, other times it swells so big, I think it might burst. 14 years of looking at this sweet angelic face.......14 years of hearing her sing songy voice......14 years of hearing her giggle through her toes.......14 years of hugs and kisses, and the feeling that you are the most important being in her world. 14 years ago my baby girl was born.
My thoughts and ideas for cardmaking and an occasional altered project!

Make-up Challenge!
I can't tell you how happy I am that it is Thursday night, because you know what that means......tomorrow is Friday! I had a lovely dinner with my Dad tonight. It has been a long time since we've had the chance to go to dinner alone, with no kids, no spouses, just my Dad and me. It was nice chatting and catching up on things...... : )
Anyway, this week's challenge at Noel's blog was to use this make-up ad for inspiration. I took it pretty literally and really went with the color scheme here to create an Easter LO of my niece.
I loved the greens, blues, and hint of pink in the photo. So I used a Martha Stewart Felt bunny, some Doodlebug flowers, and Melissa Frances frames.
I love these new page pebbles by Prima. I layered it over a Martha Stewart daisy sticker. And you can see that I am totally addicted these days to using doilies!
Here is the complete page! I did a vintage children's book page here too. Loved this part of the story.....especially since my page was GREEN!
And little Miss Katie's green jacket was perfect for this LO! She is just the cutest......do you see her little shoe coming off her foot in the lower right picture? LOL! (***Now you'll have a new picture for your "wallpaper" Dad! : )

Enjoy!
I had such a pleasant surprise today......I got "facebooked" from a former student of mine from 1993. She asked if I remembered her......of course I did! That was my first year of teaching. It was a pretty memorable year because 2 months into school I fell down my basement stairs and broke my ankle. I had to have my 5th graders wheel me around the museum in a wheelchair! This little ten year old girl that I remember has grown into a beautiful woman. I have to admit, it does make me feel a wee bit old though! Still, I was so glad to hear from her.
Anyway, on to my card......I used the new Crafty Secret's Creative Scraps.....love these images! I used my Cricut to cut the scalloped card. I used my Nesties to cut the image and the scalloped circles behind it. I added a bright, orange, happy bow and button to finish it off! The sentiment was done with my Just Rite Times New Roman stamp.
*** Still hacking like a seal.......really need to find the time to get an X-ray. Should I be worried that I've literally had a cough for over 3 months? It is just now getting worse since this last cold I've had? Any doc's out there want to diagnose me and save me a trip? LOL!

I Might Actually SEND a card!
My family thinks it is a riot that I make all these cards but rarely send them! I hoard them, I admit it. I spend so much time on them, that the thought of them ending up in someone's garbarge can just makes me sad! So I am very selective who I send them to! This card WILL be sent to a good friend of mine who just bought a house! Yep, I will part with this one........ : )
I used Making Memories paper and the Crafty Secret's Home Sweet Home set. The image was colored with my Copics. When I was done, I cut it using my Nesties and then applied Crystal Effects to the image. While it was wet, I sprinkled it with an ultrafine glitter. I love the sparkle it has IRL!
See the "felt" scalloped circle behind the image? Do you know what that is? (Of course that was a rhetorical question.....you can't really answer me... ) I took the little coasters from our hotel room a couple of months ago. You know the ones placed under the coffee cups? Do you know which ones I am talking about? (.........another rhetorical question....) I TOOK them and thought, "Hey, I could USE these for a scrappy page or card!" Yep, I did. I really packed them in my suitcase and took those babies home with me.
I am really starting to worry myself......... Do the rest of you do that too? Hoard stuff from EVERYWHERE you go, thinking it could be used creatively.....some how? Please tell me you do! (Lie if you have to!)
I am working on a technique that will be posted this weekend at Noel's blog. We are celebrating NSD! I'll give you more info. on it tomorrow! So I better get my butt off this computer and start creating!
Happy (almost) Wednesday! : )

Individuality Rocks!
My son can be quite a character. He shows such leadership qualities, and definitely walks his own path. He doesn't try to conform to the people around him......he has his own mind. He is very comfortable with who he is. I am glad that he is such an individual.....although his "non-conformity" can be trying at times..... : ) He got this silly hat at Christmas and wore it alllllllll winter long. He could care less that it wasn't "in." He didn't care that he looked like Paul Bunyan! LOL! He is truly an individual that is destined to leave his mark on the world....... : )
Supplies: Noel Mignon's Lovely Day's kit.
Quickutz die (Swirl)
***Update: Cort and I are feeling much better. We both went to school today and made it! She still has a runny nose and cough, but hopefully it will continue to get better. I soooooo appreciate your kind words and well wishes! Thanks so much!!!
Have a fantastic night!!! (And Tuesday!)

Pullin' out the Dusty Stamps!
My husband's boss and his wife just became first time grandparents this weekend. They had a new baby grandson who weighed in at 9lbs 12 oz!! Can you imagine? I thought mine were big at 8 lbs 10 oz! And their daughter is just a bitty thing....so go figure! Anyway, I wanted to make them a card to congratulate them, so I pulled out this old House Mouse stamp. I used to collect these stamps and have quite a few. Then the stamping industry got so big, and I collected so many other stamps, that these have been neglected! I thought it was high time they see a bit of love.
I used my Copics, Nestibilities, and some Basic Grey paper. The sentiment is by Endless Creations, Inc. (Another old stamp of mine!) Since the image was large, I couldn't do much with the background, so instead I added some glitter to the edges of the image. I also used some Papertrey Ribbon and buttons for a finishing touch.

I so appreciate all of your well wishes! Cort and I are still sick, but doing a bit better. She is still on her antibiotic and nebulizer. I hope I can send her to school tomorrow. We will see how she is in the morning.
Have a great Sunday evening!
