Caffinated Cropper Blog Hop!

Good morning! Today will be my last post as guest designer for Caffinated Cropper! Thanks Amy and the rest of the DT for having me! I have so enjoyed working with Amy's kits! Today's card uses the Birds of a Feather kit! So much fun stuff to dig into in this kit! I used my scraps in a horizontal pattern and machine stitched them. I created the flower with the white sheer ribbon included in the kit.....just add glue and roll it!
Now the ribbon was originally white, and it was a bit too white for my taste, so I wanted to "age" it.......so I place my "flower" in a little bowl and dumped my used coffee grounds right on top of it! When they are dry, shake 'em off and voila! Instant vintage flower! : ) I added a pearl button to the center that was colored with a pink Copic marker.

I have a busy weekend ahead of me.....my Grandma turns 90 TODAY! The entire family is coming in from out of state to celebrate her special day on Saturday! It will be so nice to see everyone together for a happy reason! : )

    Coffee grounds?!?!??! That is SO creative ... and "green" - recycling the grounds as a coloring agent for your flower - I am over the top impressed and will be trying that tip out this weekend! Fabulous card!

    Fabulous! I just love that ribbon flower. Almost makes me want to start drinking coffee to be able to stain one of my own. :) And I love the quilted strips look of your background too. :)
