You're Sweet

My son turns 15 tomorrow. I never thought I would have those twinges of pain in my heart over him growing up........but I do. I know logically that growing up is a normal part of life. It is was kids are supposed to do. But turning 15 means more independence......less "mom" time, and more secrets. I never thought I'd have the kid who would crank up the music, and close the door to keep me out of his room. Don't get me wrong, he is a good kid with a good heart......it's just his way of finding himself, finding where he fits in.  I am trying to be a good mom and give him that space to spread his wings, while still keeping an eye on him, letting him know that I am still there whenever he needs me.  It's a difficult balance to strike.....but I am trying.

I have been making a few Valentine treats for co-workers and a few other sweeties in my life.  I love the tubes by SRM and they make it easy to give sweets to that special someone.  I filled mine with Hershey Kisses......because who doesn't like Hershey Kisses? ; )  I covered it with paper by Pink Paislee and a heart shaped doily.  Using my Cricut I used the new CCR, Valentine Sentiments to create my "box of chocolate." I used all of the layers and stacked them using dimensional foam circles.

I wanted the chocolates to stand out a bit, so I added glossy accents to them and sprinkled them with silver beads. I tied the "box of chocolates" to the tubes with twine, tulle, and seam binding.
As always, thank you for popping by.......your visits and comments mean so much to me. Have a wonderful Friday!
