Lady Liberty

Good morning and happy Sunday to you!  My family and I are headed outside for a day in the pool.  It has been extremely hot here and that is really the only way to enjoy the outside.

Fourth of July is just a few days away and I wanted to share a card I made in honor of this great country. Lady Liberty is part of the Crafty Secret's American Beauty set.  I decided to be a bit nontraditional by staying away from red, white, and blue, and instead pick the green of the Statue of Liberty. I wanted to pick a color that would compliment the patina green, so I decided on cream and gray.  I gave her a bit of color using my Copic markers. The flag was stamped on kraft card stock using white ink. The stars are also part of the set. The card shape itself was cut using my Cricut.
Yep....totally lumpy and bumpy!
The edges were distressed a bit and given a think coating of glitter.

I know I said I wouldn't post more pics of Myla and bore you......but seriously as a new proud puppy mama....who can resist this face?  And I justified it since she was born on March 4th.  She will be 4 months old on July 4th!  (See how easy it was to find a reason to post more pics??) ; )

Have a great Sunday!!

  6. I really like your card, it's ver different to your usual colours but it's lovely like all your work. Your new pup is cute as too! Hope you can find some relief from the heat soon, say I as I sit here shivering in the middle of winter in Australia.
