Today would have been my best friend's 41st birthday. She was taken 3 years ago suddenly. She was my friend, my children's Godmother, my confidant, my "go-to" person. We met at the age of 13, with our too big hair, our acid washed jeans, rolled socks, and 80's music playing somewhere in the background. We connected immediately.
And tonight her sister is honoring her memory with a dinner and drinks to toast this exceptional woman. She truly had a heart of gold....and there isn't a day that does by that I don't think of her....
This picture was taken on her wedding day....we hadn't gotten our dresses on quite yet...hence the denim and overalls!
How long ago it all seems....
So I thought I'd share this silly card.....she is probably smiling down on me. She didn't like serious.....she was about being "light" and fun. She would appreciate this lil' card.
So this One's for you Jen!
This quick and easy card was created with the Imagine Machine and the Greeting Cards Inside and Out cartridge. I just added a bit of glitter, lace, stick pin, and paper straw to make it a bit special.
Thank you for allowing me to share my heart with you a bit today.....
sorry for your loss Michele - I'm sure she has been watching over you. This card is so cute - sounds like your friend would have really appreciated it. My thoughts will be with you today.

I always enjoy your projects so much, Michele. But this one really touched my heart. I cannot imagine my life without my BFF (we met when we were 4), so my heart really feels for you. I believe that people enter our lives and leave footprints on our hearts that the world can never erase. Just count the blessings of having met her and cling to the silliest, best memories.
ReplyDeleteYou are a special friend, crafter, Mom and person. You amaze me continually, and I am glad that God has sent you into my life to be a blessing and an encouragement. I hope that I can be a blessing to you, just by letting you know that I am CERTAIN her life was made better by knowing and loving YOU!

I'm so sorry -- you lost your bff way too early.
ReplyDeleteLove the card and love the post. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful way to pay tribute to your BFF. I'm sure she is smiling down on you.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss and pain. I understand. My dearest friend also died suddenly 2.5 years ago. She went into the hospital with a cold and never came home. I still wake up sometimes with the intent to call her or see her because I forget she's not with me. Thank God for His mercy, love, and grace through the cross because we are reunited again. I will pray for you and her family.
