Birthday Wishes!

Created by Michele Kovack

Good morning!
I am loving on round cards lately!  I found this fun Blossom Cluster cut from the Silhouette store.  I cut it out several times and this card is my first version.  I will show the other two versions later this week.  It's amazing how color choices can change the entire look of the card!
I water colored the flowers and leaves and then gave it a coating of glossy accents.  I popped it up using foam tape.

I added some posies, white satin ribbon, and pearls to the flowers' centers.  The sentiment is from Stamp Simply's Birthday Blessing's set.  I love the scripty font! So pretty!  It was stamped and embossed on vellum and then cut out.

I am home today with my girl. We are just a week away from her moving to her new group home.
It is so close now that my heart can't deny her leaving any longer.
The suitcase is out, clothes have been labeled and packed, and some tears have been shed.
Logically, I know this will be the best thing for her.
Emotionally, it is difficult to imagine anyone else taking care of her.
It is hard to hand that kind of responsibility over to anyone that isn't me.
But us moms have to give our children wings.
Let them go.
Let them fly.
My baby leaves the nest in a week.

  1. Very pretty, fresh, and springy, Michele! Your watercoloring gives everything such a special look. You're being very strong and brave, Mom. It's a huge, tough decision you made for Cortney, but a good decision for her happiness.

  2. As always - your card is gorgeous.
I will be thinking of you this week - it's so funny to say that you have been on my mind, even though we don't even know each other. But the empty nest is hard for all mothers to face so I can relate, to a degree. I pray you will find you enjoy your empty nest as I do. The anticipation was much worse than the reality! Hugs to you

  3. Beautiful card as always. Just wanted you to know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I am watching a friend's daughter who is special needs blossom and bloom in a lot of ways! It is heartwarming and in some ways I know a challenge for her parents as well. God has all of you in the palm of his hand.... And He is a gentle and loving Father who will take care of your baby bird...
