One of my assignments over at Journaling 101 was to write about an event that happens every year. Instead of just covering the basics, you were to write about why this year was a bit different or special. I chose my niece's birthday. She turned 6 this year. Every year she has cried because she gets overwhelmed easily by noise and confusion. This year was different.....she listened to our singing, blew out her candles.....with no tears! A big accomplishment for a little girl! The LO was created with paper scraps I had and my SU! star punches. The title was created with American Crafts Thickers.
As if enough hasn't happened already......Kyle fell off his skateboard yesterday evening. He woke up this morning and had swelling and pain in his right wrist. I took him to the doctor and then to the hospital for X-rays. We won't get the results until tomorrow. I am praying it is not fractured or broken, because we leave for Disney in a couple of weeks, which would mean no water parks or swimming! On top of this my ramp on my handicapped van is broken! UGH! I was near to tears this evening with all of this crap! I haven't felt like making anything either. My mojo has left the building! I am so tired and crabby by the evening that creating has taken a backseat! I haven't visited anyone's blogs this week either.....just too tired to stay on the computer too long. Tomorrow is a new day right? Hopefully, there will be no more injuries, or things breaking.......
Your niece is so sweet. I love the photo of her. She is obviously growning up fast. :-)
ReplyDeleteHope your son's arm isn't broken. Broken arms and Disney aren't a good mix. Let's hope it's just a bad sprain or something else that doesn't require plaster only rest and recouperation! Poor little thing.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you and sending some good luck vibes your way.
Hugs
Fe x
Your LO for your niece is adorable ... love all the stars! She looks like a real cutie!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you've been having such "yucky" days ... hope Kyle's arm is not more than a sprain ... although painful for him, it will heal quicker and not get in the way of a so needed fun vacation. Hope today is a better day ... {sending sunshine and hugs your way!}.
Yucky days seem to be everywhere right now! However, this layout is gorjus!
ReplyDeleteYou have been a busy scrapbooking girl! I have not scrapbooked in months (and I am really behind on the girls' school albums, our family Christmas album, my scrapbook of the girls, and the 8x8album I make for my f-i-l...) I enjoy it, but I also enjoy card making. I could use a little break from card making...
ReplyDeleteYou have inspired me. I am going to scrapbook something!
Oh, Michele! I am so sorry for all the stuff that has been going on with you! Hope Kyle's injury isn't TOO serious (sending positive vibes on that one!).
ReplyDeleteLove your layout btw...it made me smile!
Have a BETTER day today :0)
Gorgeous page!! I love the colors, all of the stars, and how you did the journaling!! Awesome!!
ReplyDelete"when it rains it pours" but good things will turn it around prayers for Kyle and I know about ramps ugh ! Your page is so creative just like you! Dream of Disney it will take your mind off of other things lol!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet layout! I am so sorry to hear about Kyle. I hope everything comes out ok. Poor thing. :(
ReplyDeleteHugs to you, Chele! Sometimes it seems like anything that CAN go wrong WILL go wrong, doesn't it?! Your scrapbook page is adorable. I think stress has a huge affect on our creative drive. I find that cleaning up my stamp room helps a little and sometimes I just have to take a break. Your mojo will come back, I promise!
ReplyDeleteI hope your son is okay!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this layout! I need to get a bunch of stars and LIFT this one.
I am glad your niece had an awesome, tear-free birthday this year! turning 6 is a BIG thing ya know!! Your LO is really nice Michele! And I hope you have better days coming and that Kyle's arm is OK!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful page! I love the journaling strips and the stars swooping around the birthday girl.
