Paper Loft April Sketch!

Good morning! It is nearly the end of the month, and I am very late posting the April Sketch challenge for Paper Loft. This challenge runs until April 30th.....so hurry and create something! ;) Someone will be chosen as Guest Designer and receive a $30 gift certificate, a special badge and have their projects featured on the Paper Loft blog throughout the month of June.  To  participate: Make a project (card, scrap layout or any project that works with the sketch) using the provided sketch and upload it to your blog or online gallery. Leave a link to your project at the Paper Loft site. The Paper Loft products are not required to participate, but the winner will be chosen from a participant that uses The Paper Loft products somewhere on their project.

Here is my take on the sketch.  I continued the angled pieces to the edge and added red line tape and sprinkled glitter over it.  It is perfect for glittery stripes!
I left the twine a bit long to create a  "shooting star."

I apologize for being a slacker......I think I should be fired some days for this bloggy, crafty life I got goin' on! My "real" life keeps gettin' in the way! ;)

A Sketch and a Walk Down Memory Lane....

I have tons of old photos that adorned my walls.....but as the kids are getting older, it is impossible to keep them all up. Unless you truly don't want any of your walls to show! LOL! As I have been painting and redecorating, I've been going through old photos. It is so bitter sweet. My kids are teenagers and some days I can't believe that my babies arent' babies anymore. I know that is what is supposed to happen.....but it definitely tugs at my heart.....especially when I looked at this photo of Kyle and me.

He was 3 months old here and had a striking resemblance to Charlie Brown! LOL! His bald little head, chubby cheeks, and those dimples............ooooooohhhh those dimples! He even had that mischievous grin.....some things never change! I often have difficulty scrapping these 8 x 10 photos. I want the focus to be on the photo.....so I usually keep my embellishments to a minimum.
My little hand cut heart, stitching, and flower........

All of these papers and embellishments can be found in Noel Mignon's Sonoma County kit. (Which BTW, there is only one left!)

My boy is a teenager now.....no more bald head or chubby cheeks.....just lots of attitude .....and lucky for him.........those dimples!!!! : )

Lots to Share With You Today!

Happy Wednesday to all of you! I have my first ever sketch to share with you! Yep.....I was a total sketch "virgin" until now! Oh, I followed sketches....but never made my own.....until now. (Drum roll please!) Since it is my first ever.......be kind! LOL! And here is the LO that goes with the sketch. These sweet, cute kiddos are my niece and nephew. I used lots of scraps that were lying around my scrap table. Vintage inspired pieces.....which leaves me in total bliss......plus some Tattered Angels chipboard pieces that were sprayed with Glimmer Mist and sprinkled with Martha Stewart glitter.
I little stitching.....a bit of twine.......it's all in the little details........

A few buttons......flowers.......

I also have a couple of Valentine cards to share with you using Noel Mignon's Object of My Affection kit. Super easy to whip up!

BTW.....this is NOT a JustRite stamp.......I marked this incorrectly! That's what happens when you are working on a teeny 10 inch netbook! : )
This next one uses this kit as well.....with the addition of glitter and a paper doily!

Whew! At least this one is marked correctly!

Don't forget to pre-order your Seaside Cottage kit from Noel Mignon! There are only 6 kits left! They won't last long!
