Happy Fourth of July!!!

I have been meaning to upload this picture from Denise Bryant from this past Sunday at Craft Fancy. I have "talked" with her on line many times and finally was able to meet her in person! She is a Just Rite representative, lives in Illinois, and is such a sweetheart! I was able to see first hand the Just Rite Stamper in action! So of course......Denise twisted my arm, held a gun to my head to buy one! NO. correction.....not ONE, but several!!! I just got all my Just Rite goodies yesterday, so be ready to see some samples next week! Oh yea, and the chicky all the way to the left, in case ya didn't know....is my bestest friend, Simone. I appreciate a girl who can constantly crack me up!

Ok, moving on to my card!

This is another round gate fold card I created for the Crafty Secret's challenge over at SCS. The paper is by SU! and Crafty Secrets. I added some of that Heidi Swapp tape, a button from my stash. I love threading all kinds of goodies into my buttons to give them interest!!
*** For those of you have recently tagged me, I haven't forgotten you.....just been a bad blogger! I will try and play next week!

I am leaving for Michigan tonight to see my family for the 4th. So I won't be posting until Sunday night!
Wishing all of you a very safe and wonderful holiday weekend!~

BrainWave Challenge #13

This week's challenge over at Treehouse, was to use Very Vanilla, Certainly Celery, Sage Shadow, and Barely Banana. I colored the image in with my Copics. I used all SU! paper. The circles were cut out with my Spellbinder's Nestibilities. The ribbon is Papertrey Ink. I added some Dew Drops and a stick pin. Check out the other DT member's take on the challenge.

Enjoy

I HAD to post this card because I just got back with my family from taking a walk to the ice cream parlor. That's pretty much an Oxymoron isn't it? Take a walk.....then eat a VERY large rootbeer float?!

Anyway, this cute little sundae is by Hero Arts. I made a few samples to take with me to Craft Fancy this past Sunday. I colored the image in with my Copics. I used my Spica glitter pen in red for the heart. I also used brown liquid applique for the fudge, but I did NOT heat set it. I wanted it to stay shiny. I cut the image out and adhered it to several shapes that were cut using my Nestibilities Dies. The DP is by Fancy Pants. The soft felt brads are by Creative Cafe. Well, I guess I am off to watch the Sox game with hubby......yea, like that is gonna burn any calories! LOL!

A Different Era

Well, today is my first official day as the newest DT member for Noel Mignon! I am so excited to work with all of her yummy kits!!! This kit was called the Getaway Kit. It is jam packed with papers and embellishments!!! I decided to scrap my son all dressed up as a sailor for his school musical. Something about the picture looked like he should be from a different era. His silly school pics are tucked behind the black and white photo. I made a separate little book, because they really didn't look very vintage! The only thing on this page not from the kit are the large letters. Those are large felt letters I bought, God knows where! Noel has a brand new kit out called Picnic Basket.....check it out cuz it's a fab kit! ( I will post later this week using that kit!)

So Many Things to be Thankful For!

These last few days have been a whirlwind of good blessings!!! I FINALLY got my van back! It turned out that all the repairs were under warranty! So the cost to me was nothing! On Saturday I had my Sweet Niece's first birthday party. I love seeing my niece and nephew because my sister lives in Wisconsin and we don't always have time to see each other. She is coming out this weekend to Michigan for the 4th, so I am so excited to see her, my brother-in-law and the the kids for the whole weekend! When I got home from Wisconsin last night, I checked my e-mail and had one from Beth Silaika. She announced that I was the Featured Stamper at SCS today!!! ME?! I can't tell you how excited and honored I am!!! On top of all this goodness, I helped out at CRAFT FANCY today for their grand opening and got to help out with the Make 'n Takes. I always love seeing Simone and Carol! But on top of that I got to meet Denise Bryant from Just Rite Stamps! She lives in Illinois and she is such a sweetheart! She was demonstrating the Just Rite Stamps at the store. She took pics of us, so hopefully she will send me one!

So what does this card above have to do with anything? Nothing really....it was a card I made for my nephew's first birthday a few weeks ago. I just figured you needed SOMETHING To look at! : )

I am a very happy girl today!

Wish I were by the Ocean.....and a Grand Opening!

Last week Darlene hosted Crafty Secret's Challenge to make a "Summer" card. So what better set than to use than their Seaside set. I stamped directly on the tag and then colored the image in with my Prismas and Gamsol. I distressed the edges using Old Paper ink. The paper is also by Crafty Secrets. I sanded that down to distress it a bit. I tied some cream colored floss around the end of the tag and added this little starfish to it.

If you live anywhere near Arlington Heights, IL stop by this weekend for Craft Fancy's GRAND OPENING!! There will be Make 'n Takes and demonstrations going on both days! This store is packed with all kinds of brand new products!!! I will be helping out on Sunday, so stop on by and say, "Hello!"

Well, wish me luck......I might be getting my van back today.....keeping my fingers crossed!!! I am so tired of feeling stranded!!! (Otherwise it is a looooooooong walk to ARlington Heights! LOL)

Simple Pleasures

I have been trying to learn more about my Adobe Photoshop....and experiment with my photos. I learned recently, how to use the gradient tool and add text on top of that. I loved this photo of my son blowing bubbles with his cousin. (Alex's page is a couple of posts down.) I did my journaling right on the photo! I was so pleased with how it turned out! I used Noel Mignon's Hopscotch Kit. It has tons of yummy papers and embellishments in there! (There is only one left in her store.....so hurry!) This clear Hambly transparency was part of the kit and I wanted to make sure I didn't cover it up! OF course trying to photograph it was a bit tricky. This LO also fit Greta's and Simone's Scrap Your Crap challenge. You were to use multiple shaped papers on a LO.

Still with no car! 3 days....feels like 3 months! Hate the feeling of being stranded! I sure have walking a lot though....maybe I will lose a few pounds. I just found out that the mobility place never undercoated my van.....gee, could be why the entire underneath is a huge rusty mess! I need a limiting strap replaced, and there is still some question about the axle. The body shop is supposed to look at it tomorrow. (For those of you new to my blog, I have a ramp van for my disabled daughter). So......maybe I will get the car back tomorrow......
