School on the Brain!

Happy Friday everyone! As you know I am officially back in the classroom! I have 27 5th graders this year....... and yes, it gets a bit cramped in my small classroom! Lately, all I can think about is school, school, school! So I thought I'd post a "school" LO. This was Kyle's 5th grade school picture. (I am hoping I didn't already post this at an earlier date........?) I used Noel Mignon's Picnic Basket kit with the addition of my own Thickers and large K monogram that I picked up at JoAnne's. It was a pretty simple LO. Simple is good sometimes!

I haven't had a lot to post this week because I am working on a few things that I can't show yet. Plus, I feel like my mojo is lacking a bit this week. Everything I try and make has to be done over because I am unhappy with how it came out.

Sunday, we are heading to Misericordia's picnic. (A residential home for handicapped persons). Brian and I are doing the BINGO tent and Kyle is working the children's games. It is usually a fun day with LOTS of supporters!

Some more round gatefold cards! I used those dollar stamps from JoAnne's again.....love this little dog! He cracks me up with his bug eyes! I colored the images in with my Copics and used those Nestibilities for the all of the circles. I added a few Dew Drops to finish it off.

Just a Silly Little Card!

Well, life has finally caught up with me! It has been busy, busy, busy! We went to Michigan this weekend for some much needed family time. It was just the 4 of us and we definitely had a chance to reconnect. Kyle has become our expert skier! He went around the lake many times and couldn't get enough! Both he and Cort went tubing too. We played Monopoly. (Does anyone else feel the need to drink while playing this VERY long game? LOL!)
Anyway, Tuesday morning really bit me in the #@*! Back to work, back to running everywhere for open house, dentist, CCD sign up.....you get the idea! It is REALLY impinging on my stamping time! So if I don't get my butt in gear, I won't have anything to post!!


This was just a silly little card I made with one of those dollar stamps from JoAnne's. I colored him with my Copics and cut him out. The paper is DCWV and the oval was cut using my Spellbinder's Nestibilities. Nothing fancy....just a quickie card!

Oh, and you remember that cute little dog I got? Wellllll today he mosied on up to my scrap room and took one of my projects for the JustRite blog! He TORE it to pieces!!!! I could have literally sat and cried.....but instead....he came up to me and gave me a big kiss and rolled over on his back. How could I possibly stay mad? So what am I going to do right now? Make another sample for the JustRite blog I guess.......*sigh.*

My Baby Boy....and Sharing the Love!

I finally got around to scrapping this picture of my son from last year. I keep looking at this photo of him and thinking there is no way this person is my baby boy. He is too old, too grown up.... I know as parents we always say that, but it has had a bigger impact on me than I could have imagined. It is almost scary to me that time can possibly fly so fast! Anyway, enough of THAT! I used an older kit from Noel Mignon called Treehouse on this LO. It was an awesome, jam packed kit (all her kits are awesome and jam packed!). Check out her newest kit called EXTRA CREDIT! Only 5 left...cuz they are soooo cute!!!
I am so honored to have been given this award by two extraordinary ladies! The first is my Stampin Diva friend, JoAnne. We are lucky enough to stamp together every month and share lots of laughs! The other lady is Laura. I met her a little over a year ago....I sent her a bunch of cuttlebugged papers AND she lives in Illinois! So we had a common bond right away! We haven't had the chance to meet yet....hopefully some day! Thanks so much ladies!

I guess I have to nominate more talented gals.....this is tough because there are so many!

Some More Sneak Peeks!!

It is another exciting day of blog hopping over Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps! Sandy and I are your blog hopping gals today. These two cards were both made using the new Turkey Day set coming out. I colored both with my Copics and cut all the images out. I scrunched the turkey's feathers a bit to give him dimension. Just added a few embellishments and he was complete!
For this card I used a sketch by Taylor a couple of weeks ago. I love this sketch for small stamps! It gives the card BIG impact! After coloring and cutting out 8 pies.....yes 8 pies!!!!I added Crystal effects to each. I used my Spellbinders Nestibilities for the circles. I cut up the sentiment and added a little heart. I finished it off with a pretty bow and stick pin!

Sneaky Peeky!

Sweet 'n Sassy is hosting a blog hop this weekend! It started on Wednesday and runs through the weekend! You NEED to start at the Sweet 'n Sassy blog and check out all the gals' creations! They are sooooo good! I think I've mentioned that fall is my favorite time of the year, so when Korin showed us these samples a few months ago, I was super excited! I colored this guy in with my Copics and cut him out. I inked over him with Tim Holtz, Aged Paper ink to dirty up his clothes a bit. A scarecrow shouldn't have bright clean clothes for pete's sake! They sit outside all day scaring crows away! LOL! I also added some texture to his overalls by taking a rag and wetting it down with blending solution. I dabbed his overalls and got this cool effect! (Click on the picture if you want to see it up close) The paper is SU! The blue paper was just laying on my desk....along with the other million scraps! So I am not sure who's paper it is! I also added a few felt leaves and twine to finish it off. Check out Christi and Faith's blogs. They are today's hosts!

So what is everyone up to this weekend? We are going to Michigan for a few days. This means no scrapping, blogging, or stamping.....BOO HOO! I will do a few pre posts for the blog hop though! That's ok though....I think I need to reconnect with my family and get my butt off the computer and out of my scrap room! Pretty soon, I will be like that guy....what's his name? Howard Hughes? Didn't he lock himself in his room and pee in jars? He couldn't leave because of some phobia? Well, pretty soon my family is going to send a search party in my room.....I'm in there a lot! (Don't worry though....I haven't resorted to peeing in jars just yet! LOL)

I'm Addicted!

To what you ask? Are you wondering if I am really a closet drinker, or drug addict? That would explain a lot wouldn't it? LOL! NAh, nothing like that....I am totally addicted to vintage book paper! I just bought myself some old Children's picture books to cut up and use for scrappin and cards! I decided to stamp this gorgeous Artful Inkables flower on the vintage book paper in Versamark. I sprinkled the black embossing powder and heat that baby up! I still love watching it melt! The DP is October Afternoon and SU! The buttons are just from my stash. I used 3 coordinating ribbons to finish it off!
