Beate's Sketch Challenge!

Beate over at Fresh & Fun is having a sketch challenge! All you need to do is create a card using this fabulous sketch and you will be entered in her blog candy drawing! Why is she doing this you ask? She is celebrating her 200,000 hit! Can you even imagine? I feel like such a "newbie" in comparison!! She is giving away a fantastic stamp set by SU! and some pretty ribbon!

Here is my take on the sketch! I was so excited to use my new SpaBella! I used some new scalloped paper that I found at Michaels, my tab punch, and rhinestones! I used my Doodlebug sequin flowers for the corner. Haven't used those in awhile! I also used some faux rub-on stitching! For the background I used the polka dots stamp from the Polka Dots and Paisley set using Versamark ink. Come join the fun for a chance to win some fabulous blog candy!!!!!

Another TUSCAN ROSE card!

I really love the flourishes stamp by Tuscan Rose! They are so versatile and pretty! For some reason one of the flourishes reminded me of clouds! So then I got to thinking that I had a Sizzix fence die cut. I also just bought the "weathered" SU! background stamp! I stamped the flourish in Versamark on the blue paper and embossed it with white embossing powder. I stamped the "weathered" stamp on my brown paper, then die cut it. I inked it with the daubers in chocolate ink. I couldn't make up my mind what color green I should go with for the grass. I changed it 3 TIMES! I ended up with this paper from Basic Grey. I cut some "grass" and placed it in several places to give it depth. I cut out the beautiful butterflies from Tuscan Rose's collage sheets! I used pop dots to adhere them on the fence! The sky looked too stark so I added some white ink with the daubers. It gave the puffy cloud look! (Obviously, not the scientific name!) The card size was 7x 6 inches cut, and fits in a bill sized envelope!

MartiniBella!

DOES anyone else ever struggle with the layout of a card? Sometimes I feel I arrange and rearrange a million times and still am not satisfied! For some reason I struggled terribly with this card....don't know why! I colored her in using my Prisma colored pencils and mineral spirits. I used my new tab punch from SU! and just so happened to have a "cheers" sentiment. Dunno who it is from though...I'm downstairs and am too lazy to go upstairs to find out! Sorry! I used my puffy paint for some detail and a pretty flower rhinestone for the corner, and a small one for the bottom of the exclamation point!

My Last Martha card for awhile! I promise!

I feel the way many of you do....I love to hate Martha! I have to admit that her papers are yummy and I love this bird stamp! I had to buy some of the patterned paper too! I decided to cut the stamped bird into a tag shape.

I used my Prisma Colored pencils and mineral spirits to blend the colors! I chalked the edges to give it that distressed look! I used my border punch on the bottom of the tag. I then used Martha's patterned paper at the bottom and her pretty twine for the button. I'm not sure where I got the striped ribbon, it was just in my stash! Anyway, Hope you like it!

I need to get a move on with my Tuscan Rose goodies....but it IS the end of the school year and as many of you know I am a fifth grade teacher......so LOTS to do! My hubby and my son are going to a White Sox game on Saturday night...so I am hoping to get a lot of stamping done then!

My first Tuscan Rose Card!

Ohhh the pressure of designing a card for a company! It definitely is NOT like making a card for your mom! LOL! I must have redone this card a million times! I was so excited to use my new Tuscan Rose products! I used Patty's vintage garden collage sheets and her beautiful flourish stamps! I also added some of my own touches like rhinestones, ribbon, stick pin, and some Basic Grey Paper! You must go to her store and browse her wonderful selection of Vintage items!
