Going away for the weekend....and Paper Trey

I won't be posting this weekend because we are leaving for Michigan this weekend. My husband and son really want to fish and play some golf. Cortney just wants to swim, swim, swim!

This card I created awhile ago from Paper Trey's Green Thumb. I used my Cuttlebug embossing folders and inked over the raised areas. The pearls are from Ellen Hutson's store. (Peel and stick baby!) The pot is a verdigris embossing powder by Tsukineko. I did some paper piercing around the bottom and the scallops.

I am currently working on my scrap pages for Memory Makers....

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!!!!

Cricut Card

I have been using my Cricut to make some cards lately. I have been re motivated by Regina Easter over at Bitten by the Bug! I used my Walk in the Garden cartridge to cut out the flowers in 2 different sizes. I used Basic Grey's Gypsy paper and SU! for the solid pink. The cute peas are from Impression Obsession. I colored them in with my Copic Markers. Sweet baby was stamped using Karen Foster's snap stamps. The pretty white tulle is by Heidi Swapp. I did a little sewing on the tag, which is difficult to see. I distressed all the edges with Chocolate chip ink. (I'm on a distressing kick, apparently!) Added my favorite touch.....rhinestones! This was a card that actually came together pretty easily.....which doesn't happen often for me!

Bella card!

I absolutely love Cosmo Cricket paper! The colors are so vintage looking....so how is it that I decided to use a Bella with it? I really don't know! I got this Bella from Karen Yardis over at SCS. I don't know the name of this one....so if YOU do, please leave a comment for me! I colored her in with Prisma colored pencils and Gamsol. The green satin ribbon is from Martha Stewart. I used the Karen Foster snap stamps for the sentiment. I cut apart each and EVERY letter.....and glued them on. I used tiny rhinestones for the letter i. I used my Copic Marker's multiliner in black to add some faux stitching around each letter.

Just wanted you to know that I am working on some pages to submit to Memory Maker's Masters contest. I probably don't have a chance in heck of ever winning, but a girl has to try doesn't she? I feel lately, when I see all of the talent out there, that my creations are not nearly as good! I am so overly critical of my own work... I am trying my heart out to get published this year!

Scalloped Punches!

I got my new scalloped punches from Gina K! I wanted to use the hearts but wasn't quite sure what to do with them. I started and restarted this card numerous times! I threw a lot of paper away during the process! I had different stamped images on the hearts and really didn't like it with the paper I chose by Scrapbook Walls. I ended up leaving the hearts relatively plain. I stamped some small flourishes by Autumn leaves and added some iridescent ice to it. I distressed the paper with Chocolate Chip ink by SU! I pierced holes in each of the scallops. The sentiment is by Doodlebug. I added some glittery flowers and some pearl brads.....and after 3 hours it was done........whew!

Father's Day Card and some weekend pics!

What a busy weekend! Saturday the kids swam all day and in the evening we celebrated my husband's 39th birthday on Saturday with my FIL and MIL. Kyle has a garden at my MIL's house, which I think is funny because he only likes to grow the stuff, not eat it! He grew tons of radishes.....who REALLY likes radishes?

Sunday I had my Dad, Stepmom, my two sisters, one whom just had her baby 2 weeks ago and the other who is due any day now! All the cousins swam in the pool together! It was a hectic but fun day!

I didn't really get to scrap or make many cards this weekend. I made this little BBQ card for my FIL because we had just bought him a grill for his birthday. IT was a quickie card. The BBQ paper is by Pebbles Inc. The grill and BBQ sauce is a very old Close to My Heart set. (NOT even an acrylic set.....gasp!) I used my COPIC markers to color it in on glossy card stock. (I ordered the Palette noir ink....it is on back order : ( I used my Karen Foster snap stamps for the BBQ KING sentiment and a little Happy Father's Day stamp by Stampendous!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!
