Doing Some Scrapping!

My first love, and always will be, is scrapbooking! I think I have gotten a little too much away from it this past year, because I loved the instant gratification that cards gave me! If you know me, you know that a card for me can take 4 hours, so just imagine how long a scrap page takes! So I am trying to scrap my gazillions of pictures I have. I have given up the idea that I will ever be "caught up!" It just ain't gonna happen! So here is a page I did about my nephew. You may remember me posting this picture right after Christmas. This is what I ended up doing with it. The paper is Flair, Daisy D's, and Bazzill. I used vintage lace, Life's Journey alphabet stickers, Doodlebug border flowers, and my newest love, THE STAR Punch! I punched some vintage music paper, added some old buttons with floss. The title was cut using my new cartridge for the Cricut, ABC's.

That's all for now......I am so tired! The kids swam after school. (Yes we are STILL in school!) Then Cortney had yoga for disabled persons, had a snack on the deck by the pool, read books, took baths, and now off to bed I go!

Have a wonderful weekend!

In Honor of our Upcoming Heat Wave!

Monday, 85 degrees and sunny. Yesterday, 60 degrees and rainy. Today back up to 80 and tomorrow a high of 88 degrees! So in honor of pool weather, I am posting another summer card! I got this image from an image swap with my scrap friends. I think it is a Whipper Snapper image. If I am wrong, please leave a comment, so I can give credit to the proper stamp company! The paper is by Memory Box. I colored the image in with my Copics and added a white highlight to his glasses using my white gel pen. I used my Nestibilities and SU! punches.

TWO more full days of school!!! The kids are crazy, the teachers are crazy, it just needs to be over! Tomorrow we clean desks and clean up the room

Sweet 'n Sassy's Round Up!

Korin is hosting the June roundup over at Sweet 'n Sassy. This is a chance for the designers to showcase their work. Hop on over there to see what everyone is up to! I used the "Bee Happy" set. I stamped the images twice and colored both with Copics. I cut all the images out and layered them using pop dots. The oval and scallop were cut using my Nestibilities. The paper is Basic Grey. The little pink border at the bottom is by Doodlebug. The ribbon was left over from our Easter packages. How's that for thrifty!?

Happy "hump" day!

Bitten by the Bug Challenge!

This week's BBTB challenge was to use the cricket cut on the, Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. I really struggled with this because I couldn't get the eyes right. I didn't like the 2 black holes that were supposed to be eyeballs. So I ended up punching a tiny white circle and an even smaller black circle. I tried adding a white highlight to the eyes. Still not sure I am crazy about the eyes, but after a couple hours of obsessing about it, I decided to throw in the towel! The paper is Basic Grey and Making Memories. The branch was hand cut and run through the Cuttlebug. I added Prima flowers and leaves. The sentiment was actually a sticker.

YEA! Today we finally got to go swimming in our pool! Summer has finally arrived in Chicago!!!

What I Did This Weekend....

If you haven't seen Sex and the City, you NEED to! It was soooooo good! I went Friday night with my scrapbooking girlfriends. (Sharon from Dew Drop Inn Designs and my other gals who don't have blogs). It was a fun girl's night out with drinks, food, and a lot of laughs!
On Saturday, I drove up to Arlington Heights, IL to help Simone and Carol with their new store, Craft Fancy. It is opening up on June 9th. It is such a gorgeous store with tons and tons of brand new products! Check out the blog for more info! An on- line store will be opening soon......
Can ya tell how hard we are working?

Can you see those cute penguins? Awwwww.....
Gotta love Doodlebug flock in all those yummy colors! And did someone say GLITTER paper?
If you love Amuse (and who doesn't?), this is the place for you!
Creative Cafe has the most darling papers and fun embellishments! You just scoop what you want and put 'em in a bag! Just like a candy store for grownups!
