Vintage Rooster

Good morning peeps! Thank you for all of your cyber hugs of support yesterday! Some days just aren't stellar, but yesterday was much better! : ) I have a Crafty Secret's card to share with you today. It uses this fun rooster image from the Farm Fresh Creative Scraps. I used all designer papers from the Vintage CD collection. I adore these papers because I can print them when I need 'em and never, ever have to worry about running out! ; ) I inked all of the edges, layered them, and did some wonky sewing along the perimeter. I found this old rusty buckle and knew I had to incorporate it into my card. The background chicken wire was stamped with the Farm Chicks Clear Art Stamp set for added interest!
The little banner was cut from my Cricut Expression and was stamped with the Artsy Banner set.

I am very, very glad it is Friday. I am ready for the weekend to begin already!

Have a great one!!!! : )

Harvest Blessings

Have you ever had one of those days where truly the entire day is wrong? I had one of those days yesterday. It was a trying day at work, my husband called me on the way home to inform me that he lost his glasses. Which by the way, were only 9 months old! Then I walk into my front door to find my 14 year old laying on the couch upset and teary eyed. His girlfriend broke up with him..... : ( So needless to say, much of the night was used to talk to him, console him, and convince him that life will go on!

Today is a brand new fresh day, and hopefully a wee bit better than yesterday! ; ) I have a card to share with you that I had created for the Cricut Circle Magazine last November. It uses the Thanksgiving Cartridge. The grapes and leaves were cut at 4". I popped up parts of the grapes with dimensional foam circles. They were glittered too. ; )
I used the Cuttlebug to emboss the background for added interest and texture.

Here's wishing you a GREAT day! May you have a FABULOUS day at work, not lose your glasses, and not come home to a sulking teenager! ; )

Fall and Christmas!

Good morning to you! I have a couple of things to share with you today. The first one is this little fall card I created using the Autumn Words set by JustRite. I stamped it in various fall colors on cream cardstock and then embossed with a woodgrain impression plate by Papertrey Ink die. I added some fall like seam binding, a bit of twine, and my sentiment. It was a fast, easy card to make!
I also sprayed the surface with some new stuff I picked up called Goosebumpz.....it makes it look like rain drops.....which looks waaaaay cooler in person!

I don't have a Christmas card to share with you yet, but thought I'd pass along this information so you can join us in the fun! : )

Today the JustRite team is having a Christmas Linky Party on the JustRite Inspiration Blog!! It's been snowing in Maine where our fabulous coordinator Kellie lives, so we've decided it's time to get moving on making this year's Christmas cards! The Day After......

Seriously, is there anything more wrong than having Halloween on a Monday? Because really, who wants to go to work for FOUR more days afterwards?! ; )

I have a few pictures to share from our day.......the first few are of Cortney. She absolutely loves Halloween and loves picking out chocolate from the buckets offered to her. My mom and I take her every year and we walk, and walk.......and walk for 2-3 hours until we can bribe Cort with pizza to come back in. I love that she has such a sweet innocence about her. Her pirate "ARRGH" just comes out so sweet and sing songy.....no one would ever take her seriously as a real pirate! (Plus, I don't think pirates ever smile like this, do they?) ; )

My girl.....filling up that bucket of hers!

And here is my teenager who really doesn't understand why you have to dress up to go trick or treating for Halloween. He wants the candy, but doesn't want to participate in the dressing up portion! So I "forced" him into this referee costume. A last minute super quick costume. It did the trick and served his purpose!

And then there is me. Can you guess who I am? I've been told I looked like Annie, Olive Oil....and a few other characters I can't remember. But if you guessed Lucy, you would be correct! And the prop (the vacuum) is actually used at my school......it looks like it might be from the 50's too! ; )

And that's all I have for you today.....nothing crafty, just the family today! Tomorrow I will be back with something creative.....I promise! : ) As always, thanks for letting me indulge. (And Sue and Patty.....thanks for the GREAT costumes!)

Funky Fall Card!

Good morning and Happy Halloween to you! I don't have anything "Halloweenie" for you today.....but I do have a funky fall card to share! I can't decided if it is a success or a failure. It was literally made with scraps and leftovers from other projects....and for some odd reason, I kind of liked the bright colors together. Maybe it's a full moon today? ; )
The leaves were cut from the Spellbinder's die. The tag was cut using my Cricut Machine and the Sentimental's Cartridge. The sentiment is by Papertrey Ink. It is an odd color combo......I know.....but maybe it works? Maybe?

Well, I am off to get my costume on for school today........I will have pictures to share tomorrow! Have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
