I Have Been Preoccupied.....

With This!

I know it is so soon after Bruno....but we went to the shelter on a whim. (Word of advice....NEVER go to the shelter after you lose your dog....cuz you know you will bring one home!) We almost made it out of the shelter empty handed....until I spied this little guy. His cage said 8 mos. old. He was a stray. He is a miniature poodle/ Bichon mix. He had such a sweet disposition that Kyle asked if we could meet him in the "Meet and Greet" room. (Deadly!) Next thing we knew....we adopted him! This was how he came home....matted, mangy, dirty, and unkempt. We had to wait two weeks to get him groomed because he was neutered.

Here he is with his new "DO!" The groomer had to cut him pretty short because he was in pretty bad shape! It's summer, it will do! At least he is clean and smells nice! And yes he still has a sweet disposition....a total lap dog!
You probably want to know what his name is? Just keep in mind that Kyle named him.....
His name is Skippers. Not Skip or Skippy.....not even Skipper......Skippers with an s at the end. Don't ask..........

Have a great weekend!

Quickies!

No....not those kind of quickies! More like, Just Rite quickies! I teach 5th grade and sometimes need to send little notes to other staff members and thought these would be perfect! I found a huge box of note cards and matching envelopes at Target. They were in the clearance aisle for 7 bucks! The paper is heavy cardstock....very nice quality! I used some scraps of paper for a bit of color and used my Just Rite stamps for the sentiment. The coffee cup is a Lockhart image. I colored these babies in with my Copics and cut them out. I added crystal effects to each. A little distressing to the edges and I've got some handy note cards!

Have yourself a fantastic weekend!!!

Birthday cards!

I needed some birthday cards and decided to pull out this cute Sweet 'n Sassy set. I used Stickles on the flames and icing to make it look yummy! The ribbon was Jody Morrow's ribbon share....isn't it cuddly looking? The stars were cut using my Nestibilities and the background stamp was Cornish Heritage Farms.
I paper pieced these Sweet 'n Sassy balloons on various Foo Fa La papers. After piecing them together, I added crystal effects and added the balloons' strings. The embossed circle as an old Cuttlebug mini folder. I just centered it and embossed. I wanted something to softly frame the balloons.

Off to school again today.....almost done setting up my room! I am concentrating on getting organized and everything in its proper place!

Have a great day!

Artful Inkables, Sunburst Dandies

My once a month stamping group decided it was my month to come up with a project. I love these round, scalloped gate fold cards! There is something so sweet about these little cards. I decided on this gorgeous set by Artful Inkables called, Sunburst Dandies. The images were stamped using Palette Noir ink. The paper is by Papertrey Ink. To make the gatefold card I used my Spellbinder's Nestibilities. To dress up the card a bit, I added some cream floss and a vintage button. I think my group was pretty happy with them!

Gloria

This is Cortney's doll, Gloria. Almost every morning Cort will ask for Gloria, and "feed" Gloria at our kitchen table. On this particular morning, Cort had a VERY bad case of bed head! But, I still wanted to document this special moment. So instead of large unflattering pictures of Cortney with her crazy hair....I enlarged the picture of Gloria. I added text to the photo using Adobe Photoshop. I also lightened all the pictures to make them more "dreamy." (And to again...detract from the busy kitchen and bad hair!) All of the papers here are from Noel Mignon's Picnic Basket kit. I love how this kit has a variety of papers in it. There are bold pieces as well as soft papers, like what I used today. And yet they all coordinate together. (If you are thinking of buying it, there are only 7 kits left, so you better hurry!)

Off to school today to get my room ready......*sigh* Did this summer go unusually fast? Or is it just me?

Bitten by the Bug with the Picnic Basket Kit!

This week's challenge over at Bitten by the Bug was to use the Stocking cut from the Christmas Cheer cartridge. I love the Picnic Basket Kit from Noel Mignon, and decided to use the paper from this kit. THIS AWESOME KIT IS ON SALE!!!! (Lots of October Afternoon papers in this kit! YUMMY! oh....and it is double sided too!!!) The flowers were cut out from the paper in the kit and placed on pop dots for dimension. Grab a kit quick because there are only a few left!!!
I added some beads to the stick pin and a teeny rhinestone to the Believe sticker. (Making Memories!) I added a pom pom to the tip of the stocking. The ribbon is from Michaels.
Check out the BBTB site to see what the other gals did!

All of a sudden life is super busy! I am going back to work on the 21st, and need to get in my classroom to set up. I've had school meetings, Kyle needed a 6th grade physical, and I need to get them both registered tomorrow. I haven't had as much time to scrap or make cards.....(boo hoo!) I haven't been surfing the blogs either.....oh the horror! Hopefully, once school starts we will settle into a new routine! Guess that's just the way life is sometimes!

Have a great day!
