Happy Easter!

Happy weekend!!! I have a little card to share with you using a Crafty Secret's Journaling Booklet image. I had some small scraps on my desk and whipped up this little card! I didn't need to add much, since the image is so detailed and beautiful! I added a bit of ribbon, pearls, Cuttlebugged Kraft paper, and a scalloped edge. This size would work perfectly as a gift enclosure..... : )
Isn't this image sweet?

It is Friday evening as I type this post......and for those of you following my less than stellar week.....your well wishes must have worked, because today was a much better day! (Nothing broke down, or cost me money.....THANK GOODNESS!) I was able to see my mom and my 89 year old Gram today. Visits with my Gram are so bitter sweet......but mostly sweet! I am preparing for Easter Sunday with my family....which means I need to clean and cook......and dye Easter eggs with the kiddos tomorrow night! So I won't be around much this weekend.....but I hope all of my cyber friends have a very BLESSED EASTER!!!! (And any family who might be reading this too! : )

Cutting Cafe' Mother's Day Card!

Good morning to you! Yesterday I had a tutorial on how to make these dimensional glittery flowers and as you know I made like a bajillion of them! LOL! So here is a card using the All About Mom Cutting Cafe' set and one of my flowers! I sewed the sentiment to a piece of fabric using pink thread. I added some scraps of paper from my desk, I know one of them is a piece of old Wild Asparagus paper, but not sure what the other paper is. I added a dollie, a satin Papertrey Ink ribbon, glittered flower, and an old vintage button tied with twine.

aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh..............glitter!!! : )
What a aggravating, crabby day I had yesterday! Here is the list of craziness that ensued yesterday.....
1. computer still in the shop.....no word on when I will get it back yet! EEERRGGHH!!! (Which explains my lack of "blurfing.")
2. Took 9 hours to install AT & T U-verse (cable, phone, Internet company) because they screwed up my order for the 3rd time!!!!!! (Company was out last week and this past Monday....so this was day #3!)
3. My washing machine's "pump" broke..........I am out $250.00. (Did have it fixed however!)
4. AT & T screwed up our order AGAIN......went to use the High Definition channels.....which we wanted.....but didn't have. ANOTHER call to this darn company to get it fixed!
5. Awaiting parts for my van. Apparently they are "custom" made parts and won't be in for 10-14 days. So I guess I will continue to struggle getting Cort in the van on the other side of the van, which is NOT handicapped accessible!
6. My bedroom is a mess, because we are redecorating it.....so I painted woodwork, in between the AT & T U-verse guy, and the appliance guy!
7. Cort's CT scan came back......she has persistent Sinusitis and a blocked sphenoid. So back on ANOTHER round of antibiotics. (This makes 4.....but who's counting?)
OK..........enough of my crabbing! But seriously? A day that I am glad is OVER!!!
So I do apologize for not visiting anyone.....but I am working once again, off of my Teeny Tiny Netbook! Not really ideal for long computer time! Hopefully, next week, I will be back to my normal schedule! : )
Thanks for listening to my rant! Have a wonderful Thursday!!!

A Challenge and a Tutorial!

Noel Mignon and us DT gals have a new challenge this week over on Noel's blog! Have you ever watched the show Project Runway? What a cool show and inspirational.....even for scrappy pages! I chose the episode where the team had to create something fashionable with burlap. Now I don't normally have burlap in the house. Not sure why people would have burlap in the house......maybe for the occasional indoor sack race? LOL! So I chose to use something that looked a bit like burlap, I bought cross stitching fabric. And I created a whole lotta flowers for my LO of my niece, Hannah. Since this was a fashion challenge, I selected this picture of her playing "Diva!" I used Noel Mignon's Paper Doll kit (sold out). I also included lots of machine stitching.....cuz it is a fashion challenge!

I love these flowers, so I made bunches of them......and will have other projects down the road using them! So here is a little tutorial on how I created them! : ) Gather up your inks, Papertrey Ink's Beautiful Blooms II stamps and dies, and cross stitching fabric. Now, since many people may not have the PT sets, you could do this with any flower stamp you have on hand and a good pair of fabric scissors! I stamped loads of them!!!
I cut them into smaller squares before die cutting them. (Or cutting them with scissors!)

Here is my pile of leaves......and a few stray flowers that have been cut!

Once your flowers are cut, you are ready to make them dimensional and sparkly! Here is what you will need.....glue and a clear glitter. I used Martha Stewarts. : ) This is my FAVORITE glitter and use it for MANY of my projects!

Here is my flower before.......
And here it is all slobbered with glue! You will get a bit "gluey" in the process..... : )

I pinch the bottom of my flower and start to pull my petals down and curl them......

Here is my flower "curled." And yes, my glue is still there........

Then, just dump a whole lot of glitter over your flower......

Once it is dry, shake off the excess glitter and embellish your flowers.....stack them.......whatever! The great thing is, the glue dries and holds the flower's shape!

I will be home today with Cort (she is on spring break) and painting wood work in my bedroom. (We ripped down wallpaper and are in the process of repainting!) Sounds fun doesn't it?
Oh, and my washing machine is broke....along with my computer.....AGAIN......and my van needs MORE repairs. Seriously? Enough with stuff breaking on me! I keep reminding myself it is just stuff.......right?
: ) Have yourself a wonderful Wednesday!

Crafty Secret's DT Easter Spring Challenge!

Vicki Chrisman (DT coordinator) challenged us to create something Spring/Easter like. Well that was easy! Considering the temps are getting warmer, and Easter is just a week away! I created this card using an image from the Seasonal booklets. I used some Melissa Frances paper, Papertrey Ink ribbon, a bit of glitter around the perimeter of the image, Prima flower, feather, and a stick pin to dress it up!

...............looooooove glitter!

I also have a little altered box to share with you. I used an image from the Creative scrap: Altered Fairies. I used a Tattered Angels frame for the main image. I spritzed it with Glimmer Mist and added Martha Stewart's Clear Glitter. I also used some teeny flowers I bought at Michaels. The paper is by Jillibean Soup.

I popped up the bird and envelope with small pop dots for a bit of added dimension.

I added satin ribbon from Papertrey Ink and a cute Prima flower. Wouldn't this be perfect to place a couple of Easter candies in for a lucky recipient?

I hope you enjoyed my Spring projects!!! : ) Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate your visits!

Check out the rest of the DT for their fabulous projects!!!
