CHA

I am not even sure where to begin! I met the most amazing women at the CHA. I have admired their work on the blogs and Splitcoast....now I got to meet them in person! I finally got to meet Bevie, aka, Bevie Pearl! She is darling! The sweetest woman...she is pictured with Lisa Johnson on the left. Who by the way is a hoot! And of course talented! The group included many Splitcoast ladies, as well as some bloggers. Joy and Daisy from Eclectic Paperie were there, along with Taylor and Pine. It was so nice to get a chance to talk with them and get to know them a little bit better!

I also got to meet Lisa Zappa over at ShabbyChicJunk. She was working the Crafty Secrets booth! She is the cutest thing! She is so funny and such a warm person! I am so happy I got to meet her! I was excited to see Tim Holtz there. Ranger has a new line of Crackle paints...so cool!
I also got a chance to meet Ellen Hutson, Trudee Sauer, Karen Lockhart, and Michelle Wooderson! I AM NOT WORTHY!!!!

I was super excited to meet Simone over at Daily Dose of Spazz. She is so funny! She is as sweet in person as she is on her blog! I can't believe we actually met up in that huge building! I also met Brenda Arnell from Creating Keepsakes. She is very friendly! I also stalked Elsie Flannigan.....I so admire her work. I went up to her like 3 times and finally mustered up the courage to ask her for a picture! She probably thought I was a head case!

And here is Bev and I again, did I mention I was ecstatic to meet her? She is the sweetest! And one last pic of the whole group! I am honored to have been in their company! They were so sweet to include the "newbie!" Joy and Daisy, Thank you! I had a great time!
I will post some product pics tomorrow! I had 52 in all and it took a long time to upload just these!

Crafty Secrets card....and CHA!

Here is another Crafty Secrets card! I really love their stamps! I used my new Basic Grey Infuse paper and stamped the image on Very Vanilla. (SU!) I colored her in using Prismas and Gamsol. The sentiment, stars, and flourish are all by Crafty Secrets. I pierced the green square using SU! paper piercing template. I also distressed the edges using a dauber and SU! chocolate chip ink. I went over her wings with Sakura's glitter pen.

I submitted my next entry to Carolinez Craftz, Spoonful of Sugar. If you are registered with Spoonfuls of Sugar then you can vote for me! You have to scroll down to see the layouts. I would sooo appreciate it if you took the time to do that for me! It is a great opportunity to be on their DT!!!

I'm off to CHA in Chicago tomorrow! I can't wait to meet everyone!!!!! Have a great weekend!!!

A 2 hour Fairy card!....Geesh!

Yes, this card actually took 2 hours to color in! I guess I am not very speedy....I am still trying to work with the Copics! I am pleased with how the image turned out. The stamp is by: Stamps Happen Inc. I think I bought it at Michaels awhile ago. After coloring her in, I added some bling to the corners and her waist. I glittered her wings. (click on her and you will see the glitter a little better!) I used the ticket punch and some piercing. As much as I love ribbon, I couldn't find a spot to put it....my hubby would be pleased!
I FINALLY mailed my submissions to Memory Makers! YEA! Now it is in their hands.....At least I can't stress out over it! By the way, I made it to the first cut over at Carolinez Crafts for their Design Team. I had submitted the page about me and made it in the top 25. Voting begins Friday....You will see a page I did on my son, Kyle. Check it out!!

Scrap page of my niece....and a blogger award goes to....

Every year I make an album for my niece. So being that it is her 5th birthday, this is her 5th book! Of course I always procrastinate until the last minute! I was up until 3:00 a.m. on Saturday trying to finish! This page is really out of my comfort zone, because I am usually a very symmetrical person...the new trend is work from the center out...not really me! But I am happy how it turned out...and it was a pretty quick page! You will notice that I used the Doodle This set and colored it in with my Copics. I added some Scenic Route paper, and Scenic Route Corner and a fabric tag. If you look really close you will see a clear photo turn! Don't have any idea where I got it or who makes it...was just in my stash!!! The title was added using Adobe Photoshop. I am loving this program....so much to learn! I have been trying to scrap more...cuz that is really my first love! I FINALLY finished Memory Makers...I know, I said I had it done last week....I sort of did...I had to type out my Supply list and get some copies made! Keep your fingers and toes crossed! I was given the Rockin Girl Blogger Award by Florence over at Flossie Goes Hi Tech. Also I wanted to mention that I won some wonderful blog candy from Florence...I will post a picture of my goodies and the adorable card she made tomorrow! She is such a sweetheart!!!
So now I need to pick 5 people, this is hard because there are so many talented ladies out there! I am trying to pick people that may not have been picked!
You ladies rock...and are my daily inspiration! There are so many others too, but many of you already had this award! I wish I could pass it on to each and every one of you!

Crafty Secrets & Bitten by the Bug!

This is the card I created for Bitten by the Bug's next challenge. We had to create a card using the "blurb" from the George cartridge. (Cricut machine) I immediately thought of this new set I bought from Crafty Secrets! I thought this woman looked like she was thinking about something.......Maybe about buying some new scrap supplies?

The paper is from Cosmo Cricket. I colored her in with my Copics and added a pearl for her earring!

Tuscan Rose card!

I had a little free time this weekend because my hubby is out of town on a golf trip, which incidentally has not been starting off too well! Here is the story...if you don't want to read about it just skip to the next paragraph! He and a friend of his were staying at my Dad's house in Michigan for one night and then headed to Battle Creek. He and his friend played a round of golf, came back to the house and fell asleep. He went into the kitchen for a drink and stepped right into a puddle of water! The refrigerator had died! So he had to call my Dad and my Step-mom to tell them this bit of news! He and his friend transferred all of the food into the garage fridge.....he always says it is a pressure to stay at someone else's house! So it gets better.....He and his friend leave to go to Battle Creek. They are driving on the highway when they see 2 deer. My hubby Brian told his friend to be careful cuz they always travel in groups. So they slowed down, Brian reached down for his cup of coffee and .....BAM! They hit a 3rd deer running across! He told me a little while later that it was a gruesome site! I won't go into detail but can you imagine hitting a 400 lb deer at 45 mph! Fortunately, it WAS a rental car, AND no one was hurt, AND the car is damaged but drivable! So they went to the police station and filed an accident report. He was quite shaken but OK. Of course all I could think about was, what if they had taken his little Saturn? He would have been killed for sure....I guess this makes you appreciate life a little more....Because in one day life can really change.

Now, about the card....I love these images from Tuscan Rose! Patty had the most gorgeous collage sheets! I decided to use the small flower images like packets of seeds. I cut my own envelope out of red paper. The paper is from Daisy D and Cosmo Cricket. The garden tool border is cut from my Cricut! Do you see the cute twist tie? I have had that for the last 6 or 7 years and decided to resurrect it! I love using some old stuff!
