Adore.....

I am lucky to have a group of moms who want their daughters to lead active lives and have girlfriends. Our girls truly love seeing each other. They go to school together, cheer lead together, and even do Yoga together. This is one of Cort's special friends, Patty. Her mom sent this picture to me a couple of years ago for Christmas. It was her favorite picture, and I could see why. Sometimes it is difficult to get a good picture of our girls. But this one...............was amazing. I decided to scrap it and give it to Patty's mom.

I used Making Memories paper and Bazzill. The vintage girl image is from Crafty Secret's Childhood Journaling Booklet. The ticket is by Tim Holtz. There is some Prima, Melissa Frances, and vintage ribbon and buttons. (Most bought at Noel Mignon's store) I bought a frame for it and gave it to Patty's mom last week. She really liked it..........

Thanks for letting me share this with you! : )

My counter is nearly at 100,000.......which means BLOG CANDY very soon!!!!!
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!!!

Weaving.....

With paper that is!!! I am not sure why, but sometimes while showering, or laying in bed, I get these sudden creative inspirations! Am I just weird, or does this happen to you too? I had this idea to take my strips of paper and create a cool weaved background. I know this idea isn't new, but it was one I hadn't tried. I pulled out some Basic Grey papers and cut them into narrow strips. I taped all the horizontal strips down to my crafting table. I took each vertical strip and weaved away! When I was finished I taped it down to a piece of card stock and used my sewing machine to stitch around the perimeter of it.

The image is the Home Sweet Home set by Crafty Secrets. I colored it in with my Copics. I also stamped the key and cut that out. I cut the key in half and tucked it under my vintage button. The ribbon is some pretty pink/cream silk that I ordered off M & J Trims. (Internet company I found that has great trims!!!)
My son enjoyed reading all of your well wishes......especially the ones that told him how cute he was! Thanks for making his day!
And just to share.....he was so proud that one of the girls in his class made him a homemade birthday card..........ahhhhhhhh 12.......let the fun begin........puberty, here we come!

My Baby Turns 12 Today.......

I know how incredibly cliche it is to say.......they grow so fast.......or where did the time go? But maybe it becomes a cliche because it is the truth......where does the time go? How did this once upon a time, wee one, suddenly grow into a young man? 12. It sounds so grown up......so not a baby anymore. Is it wrong to feel slightly sad at your child's birthday? (probably right?)

He may be 12, but he will always be my baby. He is truly the apple of my eye........I love this kid.

Happy Birthday Kyle!!!! : )

Wishing for Warmer Days......

Ok, I am truly upset that the groundhog saw his shadow......you know what that means don't you? 6 more weeks of winter! UGH! I am so sick, sick, sick of this cold already!!! So what's a gal to do? Scrap some summer pics! I love this picture of Kyle......being silly with his Hawaiian lei! His smile is genuine and still has a hint of little boy left in it. (He will be 12 on Wednesday) I used Noel Mignon's Blue Skies kit. It is just a beautiful kit filled with summery papers and embellishments. I created some faux tiles at the bottom for a pop of color and texture. How did I do it you ask? Well......head on over to Noel's Tips & Techniques section and I will tell you!

Have a wonderful Tuesday!!!!! I will be giving away blog candy pretty soon......I am almost at the 100,000 mark! So check back!

Is it Monday ALREADY?

Geesh, the weekends fly by!!! Mine was super busy! Kyle is turning 12 this week and we were trying to get the house cleaned a bit. Saturday night, I went to this fantastic Mexican restaurant with my scrapping girls. And then on Sunday, we went to a Superbowl party at an Italian restaurant on the north side of Chicago. I seriously had 3 servings of Terimasu. (sp?) (can you say, "oink, oink?"

I found these little clippy thingys at Michaels awhile back and knew I had to alter them. ( I have an entire basement full of things I am going to alter.......)

I used some vintage book paper and a Lockhart Itty Bitty stamp. The word is from the Crafty Secret's Fairyland set.
I added the plastic dome over it, some ribbon, floss, and a button to finish it off.

I have a feeling lots of people are heading to work today with a bottle of aspirin and some strong black coffee!!! : )
