Chocolate Covered Strawberries!

I am absolutely in love with the new Spring Cottage cartridge! I love this new strawberry cut and basket! I decided to try something new and dip them all in chocolate....... : ) Not real chocolate of course but a concoction that looks a whole lot like chocolate!

My chocolate dipped strawberries certainly are not perfect.....and with all art, sometimes a learning process!  I look at my lil' strawberries and think I probably could have dipped them a little higher.....but what's done is done.
Even with the chocolate being a bit meager I still think the strawberries look pretty sweet!
Here is a little step by step on how I made this summery fruit.....When you cut them from the cartridge, this is how they look.  You need to glue the ends together.  I took a fine floss and run it through the holes at the top and pulled it shut. To make the chocolate, you will need glossy accents....
Dark chocolate paint and mix.  I used about 3/4 glossy accents and 1/4 paint. Then dip and let them drip dry! : ) And when you make yours......be sure to be a bit more generous with the "chocolate" then I was! ; )
Today is my last day of school......spring break begins and I have an entire week off.  I am so excited to have a bit of free time and hopefully find myself elbow deep in paper and glitter!
As always, thank you so much for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!

Ladybug Votives

Good morning! Last year I made a home decor item for the Cricut Circle and I decided on votive candles. I love the look of votives throughout the house. It gives my home a warm and cozy feel to it. (And it's great for camouflaging the fact that my house would certainly NOT pass the white glove test! LOL!)  I used Martha Stewart's All Occasion Cake Art cartridge and cut my ladybugs at 1 3/4"  There was no shadow image available so I adhered my ladybug to black paper and cut carefully all the way around.
I love using twine on almost all of my projects.  It just adds a perfect finishing touch! The flower was cut using the Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge.
The frame was cut using Elegant Edges and was glittered.   I used it to help "ground" my ladybug.
I love the idea of the electric votives.....there are no worries about starting a fire!
Have a great day! Thank you so much for stopping by to pay me a visit!

First Day of Spring.....

Today is the first official day of spring AND it is my big sister's birthday! (Happy Birthday Lisa! Love you!)

I have a Crafty Secret's card to share with you today.  I hadn't colored with my Copics in awhile and thought it was high time I dust those babies off and use 'em!  I think maybe I am a bit rusty....but all in all I was pleased with the results.  This sweet image is part of the new Sing For Joy set by Crafty Secrets.  I used a  Spellbinder's Label's fourteen die and kraft paper behind the image and a scalloped rectangle for the main image.

I created my own little stick pin and added it to my tied ribbons.  The ribbons themselves have a pearl and two rhinestones to gussy it up a bit.
I am so glad you stopped by today!  Your visits are always noticed and appreciated!
Have a great day!

Ladies, please send me an e-mail and I will mail your cartridges out to you right away! :)

Thank you so much everyone for playing along and telling me all of the great projects you are working on!  I've realized how many of you are such sweethearts and doing so many great things for others!  And I have to laugh at how many of you are worried about being "caught up" with scrapbooking!  I will admit to you now that I am nowhere near being "caught up" and honestly don't scrapbook every picture anymore.  I didn't want that pressure! LOL!  So kudos to you that are trying!  : )
Hugs to you my friends!
