Stampin Diva's Challenge # 5

It is time again for the Stampin Diva's Challenge. Lynda (my MIL) decided to do a sketch challenge. The sketch came from the Joy of Cardmaking. In addition to the sketch we also had to use a bird image. Perfect for me! I love the Bird Notes set from Crafty Secrets. I colored the bird in with my Prismas and Gamsol.I added textured "snow" to parts of the bird and under his feet. While the texture paste was wet I sprinkled glitter. Off the top of my head, I can't remember who the paper is by.....sorry! My mind is so full of stuff right now!

Tonight my hubby and I are going on a date! We are going to an outdoor music festival. It is like having a huge picnic with lots of people. But more romantic! (If that's possible with a lot of people!) Just imagine a sea of blankets, candlelight, wine, snacks, and great music playing in the background. We are going to listen to Los Lobos. (I hope I spelled that right!)

Go check out the other Divas' cards!

Treehouse's Newest Releases!

OK, I am a day late and a dollar short on this week's Treehouse Brainwave Challenge! That is the story of my life! LOL! This awesome pumpkin is one of Treehouse's newest fall releases! I colored it in with my Copics and added some green wire for the vines. I had these teeny plastic spiders and decided to make my pumpkin "scary" by gluing them on. The paper is SU! and Martha Stewart.
The second card uses another new release......this cutie pie spider. I know he isn't supposed to be cute, he's got fangs right? I can't help it, his face just makes me smile! I used some black flock to "fuzzy" him up a bit. I used some really old KI paper and colored my twine/web black with a Copic marker. I added a bit of ribbon and the sentiment and voila! Visit Treehouse stamps to see their other new releases!!!

Two Cards for 2 Sketches 4 You!

I am usually late with the sketch challenge over at 2 Sketches 4 You, but not this week! I was on a roll with this week's sketch! The first card is for my soon to be 3 year old nephew. You remember the happy guy down below? He told me, " I am gonna have a "train" party." So to go with the theme of the party, I made him a personalized train card! What says personalization like Just Rite stamps? ! The center image was picked up at Archivers in their invitation aisle. The DP is about a hundred years old I think! LOL! The rest is pretty self-explanatory.
The second card is made with October Afternoon paper purchased at Noel Mignon's store! (Her store always stocks the newest stuff!) The stamp set is by SU! I colored it in with my Copics. I distressed all of the edges and added a pretty satin bow. I tied the button on and attached the glittered heart with a jump ring. The little circles on the bottom were from my jewelry making days. (Yep, dabbled in that craft too! IF only there were more hours in the day......*sigh*)

The cutest pout ever!

Just look at that face! This cutie pie is my soon to be 3 year old nephew. Why so sad you ask? Welllllll....we wanted a family picture with all the cousins and Alex just didn't want to take a picture. While getting the kids organized, I had to snap a few pics of this priceless expression! Since Alex refused to move from his post, the rest of the kids squished in closer to him.....with his pouty face and all!

This entire LO was created with the Picnic Basket Kit from Noel Mignon's store. Lots of October Afternoon in there! The only things not found in the kit were the title, cuz those were cut with my Cricut machine, the glittered heart, and the alpha beads. (Had a bit 'o dust on those babies!)

Couple 'O Cards!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! We swam a lot and spent time together as a family. It was nice to just talk and hang out together.

This first card is using a Sweet 'n Sassy stamp. His name is Sam. I colored him in with my Copics. I used my Spellbinder's Nestibilities for the oval. The paper is ancient! It is by KI memories from probably 10 years ago! But I liked it with this image. I did some sewing and added little gold studs to the corners. I bought the overall closure awhile back and thought it was perfect for this boy card. I threaded the paper through and stamped the sentiment on it.
This was another card that is super late! I used a 2 Sketches 4 You sketch from a couple of weeks ago. I used some scraps that I had and pulled this together pretty quickly. Speaking of 2 Sketches 4 You.....last week's card made the top 5! I was pretty excited to have been chosen!

Hope you have a great day!
