Christmas in July!

Hi friends!
I am featured on the Whimsy Blog today for their Fresh Friday's feature.  This is where the DT uses past stamp sets.  I love it because I often am so focused on the newest sets that the older sets don't get as much love as they should.
This adorable set is called, Candy Cane Lane.
I used the Slimline Windows Die to cut the pieces.
I stamped each image in Copic friendly ink and colored each image.  I added details with a white gel pen, Stickles, and white flock. I inked up the frame portion with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Picked Raspberry, Cracked Pistachio, Speckled Egg. I spritzed a bit of water mixed with Perfect Pearls to give it a bit more shimmer.
I added snowflakes and gemstones from the Fun Flurries Sparkletz collection.  I tied silk ribbon vertically to finish off the card.

I haven't shared much personal stuff on my blog lately.  But I had to share this bit of good news about my son, Kyle.  He made the decision to join the Navy.  He did so well on the testing that he will be in the Nuclear Propulsion training program.  He will get his bachelor's degree in December and head to boot camp in January.  I can not express how proud I am of this young man.
Thank you for letting me share today!

Whimsy Stamps and Therm O Web Collaboration Week!

Hello friends!
Michele here with some fun projects to share! I couldn't be more excited that Whimsy Stamps and Therm O Web have decided to team up! This is going to be a week filled with inspiration and fun prizes! Be sure to visit both blogs all week long for creative ideas and your chance to win some fun prizes!

My first card and second card uses Whimsy's Ahoy Matey clear stamp set.  I stamped it in a Copic friendly ink.  I fussy cut the images and set them aside. For the background I used Tim Holtz inks in shades of yellow, orange, and pink.  I then used Whimsy's Sun Ray's Stencil and Rina K's Neon Glitz Glitter Gel in neon pink.
I LOVE the sparkles the neon paste gives! I wanted clouds for the scene so I cut them using Whimsy's, Up in the Clouds Die set and Deco Foil White Flock Transfer Sheets.  I glued them to the front panel.  I used Crafty Foam Tape to pop up my little flamingo and sentiment.  I added a few stars from the Sparkletz Patriotic Stars collection.

My second card uses the same technique as the first card, but used Rink K's Neon Glitz Glitter gel in Neon Orange.
All that sparkle!!

My last card for today uses the Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheet in White Latte and Green Envy.  I paired it with Whimsy Stamp's Peony Flower Die.  I wanted to add color to my flowers so it would match my background paper a bit.  I pulled out my Copic AirBrush and gave it a hint of pink.  I did the same with the leaves to give them a bit of depth and dimension.
For the back panel I used the flock transfer sheets directly on Crafty Foam Tape.  I adhered them to a square panel of card stock and created a striped background.  I glued the flower, leaves, and ribbon to the corner.  I stamped and adhered the sentiment.  I added a few rhinestones from the Mermaid Sparkletz collection and Crystal stars.
Each company is giving away two $25 gift certificates. One on the Whimsy Blog and one on the Therm O Web blog.  To increase your changes of winning, leave a comment on each of the collaboration posts on both blogs. Comments must be left by Monday, July 19th at midnight EST.  Winners will be randomly selected and announced on Wednesday, July 21st.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
