Mermaid Gone Vintage!

I made this card using Crafty Secret's new Mermaid collection. What a fun set to color! BTW, their website is temporarily down.....so the link will take you to the blog instead. Hopefully, it will be up and running soon!

I used my Copics to color her in and added Stickles to the flowers and Crystal lacquer to the water. The rectangles and frame were cut with Spellbinders. I inked the edges of all of them. I sprayed adhesive to the frame and sprinkled Martha Stewart clear glitter over it. I cut the front panel of the card in half.......just to be a bit different! I adhered the image and glittered frame to a piece of clear transparency and attached all of it to the "half" panel. I gussied it up a bit with a pretty Papertrey satin bow, button, and a seastar charm. The paper is by My Mind's Eye.

Did I tell you that my class is over tomorrow? (........only like a million times) My project is complete and tomorrow I present it to the teachers and fellow students. What a relief! I will now be able to spend more time doing the things I love.....cards, scrapbooking......! My report cards for my 5th graders are finished, stuffed in their envelopes and ready to go out today. A hectic week to say the least!
This weekend we are planning on chillin' like villians! We have over 10 hours of TV recorded (We lead super exciting lives don't we?), and a bottle of wine in the fridge and phone numbers to some really delicious take out places! ........Can't wait to shake this week off and relax!
What are you doing this weekend my friends? Hope whatever it is, you have a fabulous one!

A Little Christmas in February?

If I don't start getting my crafty on soon.....I won't have anything to post! (HORROR!) I have been busy with some things I can't post yet and my class. Oh.....this darn class!!!! Plus this kid.....down below.....is going to give me an ulcer!!! He is 13.........need I say more?

Here he is being cute and lovable.......at Christmas. (Maybe that's the trick....just give the kid presents......all the time!) He actually hugged his gifts! I used bits and pieces of Noel's St. Nick kit and the Jenni Bowlin pennant stickers. Nothin' fancy......just a quickie LO. (The picture just cracks me up though!)

So sorry for the shorty post.....but gotta run and get stuff done!!!! Next week I will return to my regular programmed blog! LOL!

Vintage.....

Good morning to you! I have a vintage inspired card to share with you today! The image is part of the Crafty Secret's Journaling Books. I love how beautiful these images are! I added glitter to the words and perimeter with my Sakura glue pen. The papers are Melissa Frances, Papertrey Ink, and vintage book paper. I did a bit of machine sewing, a satin Papertrey bow, button, and a few stick pins. Sometimes I go a bit crazy and don't know when to stop! LOL!

Here it is in all of its glittery glory!!!

I don't have much else to share with you today......my life has been consumed with finishing my project for my class. And the fact is.....I'm really not all that exciting! LOL!
Have a great Tuesday my friends!!!

Exciting News!

I know some of you have already seen this issue of PaperCrafts Magazine, but I just got my copy over the weekend! Back in October, I decided to submit two of my cards for the World Cardmaking Day Contest and was lucky enough to have one of them picked up! : )

There is my little Gingerbread Boy card! I used my Cricut to cut his body out and added Dazzling Diamonds to his body. His eyes are brads, and his mouth was stitched with black floss. The sentiment was done with the JustRite set called, Favorite Occasions Borders and Centers. I colored the mini gingerbread boy with Copics.

The circles were cut out with Spellbinder's dies and then airbrushed. I tied everything together with ribbon and twine.

Thanks for allowing me to share my excitement with you! Have a great start to your week!
