Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day to you all! I wanted to share a quickie card I made using some stuff/scraps lying around my VERY messy craft room. (I'm talking, you can barely wade through the piles on the floor....) The heart was part of a scrapbook page I did, but I only used the negative space for scrappin, and had this perfectly good :inside" part of the heart to use. The Crafty Secret's image was on the floor.....must have slipped out from its Journaling Booklet. So I decided to whip this card together! I Cuttlebugged the heart using the Swiss Dots folder. All paper is SU! I just added a button and some stick pins, and it was a done deal! I am giving this card to MY sweetie.......

A Challenge........

I am hosting a challenge at Noel's MB. The challenge, if you dare to take it, is to list 10 things you love about yourself. It is a difficult challenge, because if you are anything like me, I tend to dwell on the things I don't like about myself! I could write a novel about THAT! LOL! So come on ladies......spread a little love........to yourself! YOU are a remarkable person!!!!

This LO used Noel's newest kit, Nightingale, being released this Sunday, Feb. 15th. And yes......that is me......circa 1978! (Remember those barrettes with the long ribbons and beads???)

Isn't this little angel's bum the cutest thing? I love this stamp set by Crafty Secrets, called Cherubs. It is such a pretty set, perfect for Valentines Day! I colored this adorable cherub in using Copics. The wings were stamped on vellum and heat embossed in sparkly black embossing powder. The stamp originally had the cherub tying a bow. But, I cut that part out and included tulle instead. The heart was cut out using my Nesties. I sprayed it with Glimmer mist to give it extra sparkle! The paper is from Noel Mignon's newest kit, Nightingale. (Available for purchase on Feb. 15th!) It includes those cool little metal border strips from Artchix, and the soft yellow tulle. (Sneak peeks are a couple of posts down.....if interested!)

Nuts for you!

I finally inked up this set by Papertrey Ink! It is called, My Punny Valentine. I haven't made many Valentine's cards this year........(my family would say it is because I don't send any! LOL) Something about this squirrel just makes me smile. Maybe because my MIL always marvels at how much wildlife we have here living in the city. We have tons of squirrels, opossums, and bunnies! Man oh man they reproduce like.....well.....bunnies! Anyway, nothing fancy, just a simple card. Pretty self-explanatory...

A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That....

Another busy weekend in the Kovack household! Saturday, we were shopping, baking, and cleaning for Kyle's birthday party. Cort had a basketball game in the afternoon, That night, we took the kids to a french restaurant called Mon Ami Gabi. Last year we took Kyle after a day at the museum, and he fell in love with it! So I think we have officially started a tradition. Of course he thought he was going to order the $40.00 steak......uh.....no! I think the $20.00 steak is just as good! (Kids are never satisfied!) He had Banana's Foster for dessert. (Which he loved!) Sunday, we had the family over for his birthday. It was a day filled with little ones, laughter, and good eating! Here is a picture of my birthday "Tween" with his killer dimples!

I also wanted to let you know that Noel Mignon is releasing her newest kit this Sunday, February 15th for presale. It is called, Nightingale. I already have the kit (the perk of being on the DT! : ) and let me tell you it is absolutely FABULOUS! Filled to the brim with embellishments, some vintage! Here are a few sneak peeks!
