Ok Summer, Anytime you Want to Appear.....

I need summer to arrive soon! I am so tired of the cold dreary weather! So this is my card to push summer along......
I colored Riley in with my Copics. I used my Spellbinder's Nestibilities for the circle and scallop. The paper is Papertrey and Doodlebug. I found this fabric in my stash and thought it matched pretty well. I used my Cropidile to punch holes in the flip flop buttons. I attached them to the ribbon. The letters were an old set by SU! called Alphabits. I layered it on a little bit larger circles. I used a sun punch for the back of the s.

I am pretty excited, cuz I got in the Copic class in Chicago. I will be going on July 16th. If you are going, drop me a line and maybe we can meet!

My Official Anniversary!

I am sorry to bombard you with more anniversary stuff....but the 29th is the official day! We just happened to celebrate last weekend instead of this weekend. I have to share with you my gifts from my hubby. The necklace was my gift, and I love it! He also "made" a card. I use that term loosely! He basically stuck a pretty sticker on card stock and had my son.....yes you heard me right, my SON add the ribbon. Brian was going to give it to me with just the sticker and my 11 year old grabbed it with his hand under his chin saying, "mmmmm....it needs something Dad." All this while just wearing boxers! So Kyle told Brian that ribbon would add that little something special to the card. So Kyle added the ribbon....and pretty straight I might add! (Some fathers and sons bond over a baseball game, mine bond over cards and ribbon! LOL!)

This was an album I made awhile ago while guest designer for Crafty Secrets. It celebrates our many years together.
I told you I had bad 90's hair! And Brian is about 60 lbs lighter in this picture!

No he isn't 21, he actually will be 40 this year. This is just how many birthdays we have shared together!

And that is it folks! I promise no more anniversary stuff.....until next year!

Here Fishy Fishy!

Treehouse is hosting a Brainwave Challenge. This week it is a sketch challenge. So here is my take on it. This image is a sneak peek of Treehouse's newest release. (Coming out next Friday). I colored her in with my Copics and added crystal effects to the bubbles. I also airbrushed around her. The circles and tag were cut using my Spellbinder's Nestibilities. The paper is Memory Box. I used a an old fish punch for the circles.

Check out what the other girls did with the sketch!

Lucky Me!

This week's Bitten by the Bug challenge was perfect for me! I am celebrating my 15th wedding anniversary on the 29th of May. I do feel lucky to be married to my high school sweetheart.....AND still like him! This word is found on the Alphalicious cartridge. The paper is by Prima. I used my star punches from SU! ( I am addicted to these!) I found some old Scrabble letters to spell out, ME. Of course my card wouldn't be complete without some sewing, ribbon and rhinestones!
So what did Brian surprise me with you ask? Well, here's the scoop. He took me downtown to Navy Pier. We walked around the lakefront, people watched, listened to the band, and had a cold beer. At 7:00 PM we boarded the Odyssey Ship.
We had a lovely dinner cruise.
The dinner was superb, the dessert Divine, and the company was perfect! AND....I got gifts! I will show those off tomorrow, since this post is already pretty long!
I am so lucky to be married to a man who treats me like a princess and really "gets me." We have been through so much in these 15 years.....and we have only gotten stronger because of it. I wouldn't want to go through life with anyone else but him......He's a keeper!

Remember Foam Stamps?

Simone and Greta over at Scrap Your Crap hosted a challenge last week to use those foam stamps that were so popular a few years back. At the time I had to have every one that was made....so I have quite a collection! This LO is of my son. I altered the pic of him reading in Adobe Photoshop. I converted it to black and white, made a second layer and "erased" the book so the colors would show through. My son was diagnosed with a learning disability/dyslexia in 1st grade. He was really behind in reading....but is now reading at grade level. He loves to read anything about history. He can sit on the couch, or in his bed for hours reading a good book. I am really proud of him, because he never gave up, even when reading was so difficult for him!

I will post tomorrow about my Surprise from my hubby!! I have lots of pics to share with you, so check back!
