Two Sweet Creations!

Good morning to you! I have two cards to share with you today that are being featured on the Cricut blog! Have you been to the Cricut blog? It is a fabulous place to find out all the latest and greatest in Provo Craft news! : ) If you haven't been there yet, click HERE To take a peek!

My first card is a Popsicle card. I was inspired by my kids eating them by the pool the other day......dripping all over themselves....my deck...... ; ) It was created with my Gypsy and the Sweet Shop Lite Cartridge.
I even created drips........... : )

Now I know most Popsicles don't go around toting a flower on them.....but I couldn't resist adding my own floral touch to this card! I used Mother's Day Bouquet to create it, a bit of black twine, a tag, and a rhinestone.
My second card is a gumball shaker card. I created this one with my Gypsy and Sweet Shop Lite Cartridge as well. I was able to create the circular window right on my Gypsy using the George and Basic Shapes Cartridge. I cut all the gumballs using the George and Basic Shapes Cartridge.
Since I welded the card at the bottom, I used a small piece of velcro at the top to keep the card closed.
I love the fun interactiveness of shaker cards!
The tag was cut using the Sentimental's Cartridge and stamped with a Papertrey Ink stamp. I used 3 colored twines from the Twinery and some stick pins for added whimsy!
If you would like specific information (cut info etc), please be sure to visit the Cricut Blog!

The sun is shining here, and temps in the upper 70's......such a perfect day! : ) Hope your day is a great one! : )

Born to Fly!

Good morning! I've had quite the day yesterday! We had major storms hit the Chicago land area leaving us without power for 8 hours. I am not complaining though because as of late last night there were still hundreds of thousands still without power. So I was one of the lucky ones. Our yard sustained some damage......but fortunately our house and pool are okay.....thank goodness!

I have a Crafty Secret's card to share with you today from a brand new set called, Born to Fly! It is such a darling, deliciously vintage set! It is great for coloring or paper piecing! I chose to color this sweet angel with Copic Markers. She was cut out and a bit of glossy accents and glitter were added to her eyes and lips. I created a shelf for her to rest on using the scalloped stamp from the set. I used a piece of doily that I had cut using a Papertrey Ink doily die. The large wings behind her are chipboard pieces from Tattered Angels that were sprayed with Glimmer Mist and inked on the edges. I added glossy accents and glitter as well!
I stamped the sentiment on a little tag that was cut from my Cricut Expression and Sentimental's Cartridge using two colors of Papertrey Ink.

I have just a couple of pictures of our poor yard. I didn't get pictures of everything......like our pool cover that blew onto our cable line......or Kyle's golf net that was literally wrapped around the swing set, broken and splintered. Or the huge tree that came down in our front yard nearly missing my house.......but really, I feel very fortunate that it was mostly just messy, inconvenient, and a part of the fence needing to be replaced. IT could have been so much worse.

My helper, sawing down the branches to get it off the swing set!

And my poor fence............*sigh*

Thank you so much for stopping by........your visits mean the world to me! : )

From Tombstones to Coffins.....

Okay.....so let's see, Friday I posted a Tombstone box......and well....today, I have a coffin box to share with you! Who knew a coffin could make such a cute treat box! JustRite has this absolutely adorable Halloween Set appropriately called, Happy Halloween! ; )

My treat box was created using my Cricut Expression and the Happy Haunting's cartridge. It was cut at 6" and I used the layer functions. The box top was embossed with a Papertrey Impression's plate. The image was colored with Copic markers and cut out with two different circle dies from Spellbinders. I also used a Pinking die with black paper from Spellbinders.
I added twine to keep my lid closed........ : )
......and yes, in case you were wondering........I did add glitter to the skull and crossbones......I couldn't help myself......why fight it? ; )
Be sure to visit the other DT blogs! Their projects ROCK this set!!!!!
