Caffinated Blog Hop!

Happy Friday to you! I have a card to share with you today, created from the Caffinated Cropper's new kit, called Birds of a Feather. It is such a fun kit to work with! I created this card....that I am embarrassed to admit, took me about 3 hours to make! I had this grand idea to use a real tree branch from the tree in my front yard. Then....I painted it white.....then I glittered it.....then decided it was much too plain. Sooooooooooo I added clusters of little flowers punched from papers from the kit. They were inked, Crystal lacquered, seed beads and glitter added. The bird was inked, Smooched in silver on the edges, a wing added and glittered. I tied the blue satin ribbon and added a vintage button threaded with the seed beads that come in the kit. Whew! 3 hours later this was the result..........

Please tell me the clusters of flowers were worth the hour and a half? Lie if you have to! LOL!
Would you like to see what the DT has up their sleeves with this cute kit? Head on over to:

JustRite and Stamper's Dream!

Well good morning and happy Thursday to you all!!! I have a JustRite card to share with you today using THIS sketch from Stampers Dream. I used the lion from JustRite's Let's Celebrate set. The lion was colored with Copics, cut out, and given a coat of Crystal Lacquer. The "grass" was cut with Martha Stewart's fringe scissors. The paper is DCWV and Papertrey Ink. Since the Let's Celebrate set is normally a square stamp, and the sketch called for an oval, I used my SU! black marker to only ink up the sentiment on one side. Then I was able to stamp it on the oval.

The 2 green leaves are from an embossed piece of Bazzil paper.

Check out the JustRite blog to see the other samples from the Dream Team! : )

We are having Spirit days at my school......today is Chicago Blackhawks Day! AND, it is also Teacher Appreciation week, so our PTO is providing us with a delicious lunch today. Food and Spirit? Doesn't get much better than that! : )
Have a great day!!!!

Playdate & a Silly Kid!

Kyle is a pretty silly kid......who likes to make people laugh.....especially me. He is a goofball at heart and I am glad he doesn't take himself too seriously. I believe that laughter is what gets you through the days.......and heals hearts, and makes life a bit sweeter. So I knew I had to grab my camera and take bunches of photos of my then 12 year old son being goofy and uninhibited. He yanked all of those tubes on his adolescent body, jumped in the pool, and...............tipped right over! It was pretty hysterical.......although telling you doesn't seem nearly as funny as actually being there! LOL! I hope this kid never loses this part of him......: )

I used Noel Mignon's Playdate kit....which is sold out. (Boohoo!) But the upside is......there is a new kit coming out on May 15th!!!! Get some sneaks of "Lemonade Stand" on the message board!

And one more FYI, Noel is holding a DT call......so if you want to design for the most awesome Scrapbook Kit Club EVER than get your DT applications in by May 1oth!
Off to a workshop today with my fellow 5th grade teachers........ : ) Have a great day!!!!!

Baby Boy Card.....

Good morning and happy Tuesday to you! Today is supposed to be sunny and near 80 degrees...... : ) That just makes me wanna do the happy dance!!!

I created this little sailboat card using THIS template from the Cutting Cafe. The gym teacher at my school just had a baby boy, and I am going to give her this with a few items I bought for the new baby. Much of the paper was from my scrap bin....so I am not sure of the manufacturers. I Cuttlebugged the sails and added glitter. The sentiment is also by Cutting Cafe. It is from the Assorted Boy Word Circles set. I am going to make a few more to have on hand because I truly adore this shaped card! mmmmmmmmmmmm? Maybe even a Father's Day card? We'll have to see where those creative juices take me! : )

Have a wonderful Tuesday! I sooooooooo appreciate you taking your time to visit lil ole' me!!!!

Moxie Fab: Tuesday Trigger!

Good morning! Hope your weekend was fabulous! Mine was filled with dinners, family, phone calls to my birthday girl, and some Skyping! Cort LOVED seeing all her well wishers on the computer screen!

I don't participate in many challenges, because well........ honestly, there aren't enough hours in the day! But for some reason, I decided to participate in the Tuesday Trigger challenge over at the Moxie Fab blog. I loved the inspiration photo. I love the white, green, and aqua combo. It is so "Earthy" yet summery looking! I pulled out this sympathy set from Papertrey Ink. It is a card I like to have on hand.........just in case. I kept it pretty simple......which for me is a huge change! I usually like lots of "stuff" on my cards.....ya know? LOL! The embossed paper is by Bazzil. (LOVE. IT!) I used a punch by Martha Stewart on the Hawaiian Shores paper. (Papertrey), and tucked it under the green embossed paper.
I added some rustic twine, pearls, and a bit of distressing.

*********Funny Cortney story........in the morning last week I asked her what she had going on at school. (Now mind you, her speech is pretty limited)

Me: What do you have at school today Cortney?
Cortney: Choir
Me: "What are you singing in choir?"
Cortney: "Christian songs."
Me: "What Christian songs are you singing?"
Cortney: "Take me out to the Ballgame!"
LOL!!! Christian baseball game apparently! : )
