JustRite Winter CHA Release-All in the Family

Today is the last day for JustRite's CHA releases.  I hope you have enjoyed all of the gorgeous new sets!  The last set I am showcasing today is called, All in the Family.  It has such a cool font, and I truly adore this set!  It is perfect for every member of your family. I decided to create a shaker gift box using the stamp on acetate and Staz On ink.  I stamped the frame on card stock, gave it a bit of color with my Copic Markers and applied glossy accents to it.  It was then sprinkled with glitter.  The box is a cut from Silhouette.
I filled the top of the box with tiny star sequins.  Since they appeared to have some orange undertones, I thought orange would be a perfect compliment to the pink.  I used beautiful silk ribbon from Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Store.  The flowers were created from Cuttlebug's Daisy Quilling kit.
Here is the entire set! :)
Be sure to visit the other gals' blogs to see what they've come up with using this versatile set!

Tomorrow is the big day.  I won't sleep a wink, I am so nervous. I keep trying to tell myself that nothing may come of this.  But secretly, I am hoping something does come of this. What if this little gal's light could be seen by others?
Tomorrow could change her life.
Her disability doesn't have to limit the person she is.
Please wish us luck. Keep your fingers and toes crossed.
Keep this mama in your thoughts....
And thank you for all of your kind words regarding Cortney.
XOXO

Wedding Table Place Cards

I am so glad that it is already Wednesday!  I am one day closer to Saturday.....the BIG day!  I can barely concentrate......my mind is preoccupied.  :)  But I am busy, busy, busy, which helps the days speed by!

I have a card to share with you that was published in the Northridge's November Cricut Magazine. It was for their wedding ideas section and I had decided to use Cricut's Giant Flowers Cartridge to create table place cards.

When using this cartridge you have to allow for the rather large base, so I cut a hole in the second layer of cardstock and popped it off the base layer.  This gave the flower somewhere to sit.
I find using cardstock in various shades of the same color works well to give the flowers depth.
The names and table numbers were printed off the computer.
I did ink each petal with orange to define the edges a bit more and again, give it more depth.

Cort has her cheerleading practice tonight with the high school girls from the local Catholic high school. It is so much fun to see those girls interact with our girls. I absolutely adore the half time show they put together!  It is so cute!

And believe it or not, I do have another child, but he hates when I post anything about him.....imagine that!  He is a boy. He is 15 going on 16. He is a teenage boy. Explanation enough?

He is going to an overnight ski trip with his school in a couple of weeks. He attended last year and had a blast!
Have a great day my friends!
XOXO

Love.....

This weekend was a wonderfully busy one.....and one that reminded me how small the world is.  How interconnected we all are.  It also reminded me how truly lucky I am. I felt like my heart could burst.  My daughter, my Cortney has been chosen as one of 20 kids to be photographed this upcoming Saturday by a well known Chicago fashion photographer.  His name is Michael Canavan.  He has done a lot of magazine, TV, and modeling work.  He knows the right people in the industry.  He is creating a portfolio for each of our children to give to advertisers, modeling agents, etc.
There is a bit more to the story, but I can't share it all ....... yet.
But seriously, pinch me.
I can not wait until this weekend.  I can't wait to meet this amazing man, who has selflessly given up his time to do this for our kids.  All of this is because of these two amazing people I met a year ago, Katie Driscoll and Steve English.  They started a campaign called, Changing the Face of Beauty.  And change it, they have.
And my lil' dolly gets to be a part of this.

My Crafty Secrets card uses paper from the Vintage CD collection and the tag is from the digital Valentine kit. I added a bit of pom pom trim, a flower cut from my Silhouette, machine stitching, and seam binding.
Found these little posies in my stash.......love them.
A little rhinestone for the center of my flower......
Thank you all for your support.  It means so much to me to be able to share this with you.
I am off to teach my 5th grade kiddos!
Have a great day!
Much love,
XOXO

JustRite CHA Winter Release-Poppies!

Good morning to you! I hope you are enjoying all of the new sets JustRite has come out with!  There are still more to show you!  Today's set is called Poppies.  I love flowers.  I mean really love them. There are very few projects that flowers are not used.  I nearly squealed when I saw this set!
It reminded me of a water color painting, and decided to go in that direction with this set. I used Tim Holtz Distress Markers to color the poppies and leaves.
I die cut the image using a new die from Spellbinders, Labels Twenty-Nine. While the die was still on, I distressed it using a sponge and Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink. I gave it a spritz of water to give it a mottled water color appearance.
To give the card a bit of color and texture I used JustRite's new Background stamp called, Floral Flourishes.
Here is this beautiful set!
Be sure to visit the other gals!
:)
