Adopt Don't Shop Cats!

Good morning! The weekend is almost here! YAY!
I am going to a fundraising wine tasting party this Saturday.  Wine and raise money for a good cause?  I'm in!

I am excited to share a brand new stamp set by Whimsy Stamps called, Adopt, Don't Shop Cats!
I just love their sweet little faces!
I colored them with Copic markers and decided it would be fun to make the card into a shaker.
I used the new die, Peekaboo Window.   For the sentiment I combined the die, Friend Word and Shadow with a stamped sentiment.

I used Picked Raspberry Distress ink for the outside and added a satin polka dot ribbon to finish it off!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Personal post....

Just an update on my sweet, sweet girl......
Do you see her sly little smile? For people that don't know Cortney, they don't always see her personality. She is shy, funny, demanding, loving, caring, talkative, and a beautiful soul inside and out. Most people don't see that in her. But Misericordia Home does. They "get" my daughter. They "see" her gifts and talents. They speak to her like they would any other 23 year old. She is respected. She is active and busy. She has a social life. She is happy and thriving. 3 years ago Cortney moved in to Misericordia. I cried more tears than I can express over it. I questioned myself. Was I making the right decision? It tore me apart for a long time. She is 23 but is still a young child. How do you trust others to take care of someone so vulnerable and innocent? I remember contacting my friend and telling her, "No one will love my child like me." Her reply was simply, "No, but they (Misericordia) will come pretty darn close."  She was right.
Fast forward 3 years. I have her staffing today. I get to hear from numerous people how much Cort is involved in. How much they love and adore her. How incredibly busy she is. And most importantly, how HAPPY she is. And the best part? I get to talk to her, see her, bring her home, whenever I want to. They have an open door policy. I don't need to announce my arrival, I just show up. This truly is the best of both worlds. Time sure does fly though! I still remember that first day like it was yesterday! Thank you Misericordia staff for loving my daughter as much as I do.

Whimsy Stamps & ThermOWeb Collaboration Day One!

This week Whimsy Stamps and ThermOWeb are partnering for a fabulous week of inspiration and prizes!  All week long designers from both teams will be sharing ways to add foils and more to your projects using products from ThermOWeb and Whimsy Stamps.  Read to the end of this post to find out how you can win!

I had so much fun using products from both ThermOWeb and Whimsy Stamps! I actually ended up making 3 sets of cards! My first set uses the Whale of a Time stamp set from Whimsy. I first cut the card stock with ThermOWeb's  (Gina K.) Nested Rectangle with Double Stitch Die.
I love the stitching! It gives it just a bit of interest to a clean and simple card. I stamped both images in a light ink and used Copics to color it. I added a strip of vintage ribbon and a few clear droplets from the Coral Coast Sparkletz.

My second set of cards uses this adorable stamp set from Whimsy's, Angel Celeste.   I stamped the image and wanted to create a soft pink background around her.  So I used ThermOWeb's (Gina K) Masking Magic.  I stamped directly on it, cut it out, and placed it right over my image.  I was able to sponge Picked Raspberry ink around her with absolutely no lifting from the edges!
While the mask was still in place, I spritzed it with a bit of water.
I colored each of the cards and decided to incorporate a large flower into each card.  I used the Peony die and sponged each of the flowers and leaves with Distress Ink.  I assembled them and glued them to the card, along with ribbon and a sentiment from the Your'e Too Kind stamp set

My last card I decided to make a shaker card.  I just think these are so fun and interactive! I stamped this adorable image, Dragon Party on water color paper.  I colored it with water colors and added a few more details with colored pencil, and a white gel pen. The shaker itself was created with ThermOWeb's Nested Rectangle Double Stitched Die.
I filled it with various sequins and Sparkletz I had in my stash.  I added a sweet little posy and ribbon to the candles.  And of course a few touches of glitter using Glamour Dust and Glossy Accents.
