Sneak Peek!

Just a little peek at the newest kit coming out by Noel Mignon called Lovely Days........

ooooooooohhhhhhhh.......aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh! : )

Lil' Get Well Card!

I truly adore this get well set by Crafty Secret's called, "Feeling Yucky." It has such sweet images! I chose these cute ducks to color. I used my Copics. I cut the little guy out and placed him on a pop dot. I used Crystal Effects for the medicine and tears.

Do you see my wonky picture? I thought I was being sooooo creative by putting old vintage medicine bottles behind the card. Too bad the picture was a wee bit crooked! So to fix it (or so I thought...) I used the straighten tool in Adobe. Unfortunately, it made my name/company name pretty crooked. Oh well........just focus on the card people! LOL!
Just an FYI, Noel Mignon will be releasing her newest kit, Lovely Day, on Monday! If you are interested in preordering it, she is throwing some little extras in there! Check it out HERE if you are interested! I ADORE this kit.....and will be sharing some projects with it on Monday!
And that's all I got for ya's! Hope you have a fantastic weekend!!! : )

Ready for Some Pictures?

Ok, this is gonna be a long post! For those of you only here for the creative stuff, I've posted that first! IF you are interested in seeing Cort's Special Olympic pics then keep scrolling down!

First, I wanted to show you the LO I created using this cake as an inspiration! Yep, it is seriously the cutest cake EVAH! Noel Mignon is hosting this challenge over HERE. You need to go visit and see what the other talented girls came up with!

I loved the vintage edge this cake had, as well as the colors. So as you know, I love creating vintage things.......so this was pretty easy for me!

I used lots of Graphic 45, Prima, Jenni Bowlin, and vintage goodies. See the old playing cards that create the number 13? And the dress pattern that I scrunched up? I got those from my good friend Mary Ann. She carries fabulous vintage goodies in her Etsy shop.

I love all the new flowers Prima has come out with!!!
OK........this is the end of the "Creative Segment!" On to some photos from this past weekend at Special Olympics. (Yes, Diane, I finally am posting these! : )

Don't ask why I am holding Cort's stomach.....no reason....but looks rather silly don't it?

Only scrapbookers understand the need to take a picture of the sign! LOL!

The entire team minus one of our cheerleaders. Aren't they the cutest?

Brian thought it was stupid to post this pic.....cuz you can't see Cort's face.....but I loved it! IT shows her enthusiasm completely! So the photo is definitely gettin' scrapped!

J** O ** R** D ** A** N** S................................GO JORDANS!!!!! This MUST be the reason the basketball team won the gold!!!!

Yep....................................I adore this girl.......... : )

Cracked Glass....

I created this card with my square punch, ultra thick embossing powder, Versamark, and my heat gun. While definitely not a new technique, it is one I haven't used in quite awhile. I punched my squares from DP, coated it well with Versamark, dumped some UTEE over it, and then heat it up until it melts! Do this about 3 times for each square. After they are cool, bend them slightly or stick them in a freezer to get them to crack.

The shamrock and Gook Luck sentiment from the Crafty Secret's set called Lucky Wishes. I added a little pearl to the center. I placed that on a button, then on a white crocheted flower. I created a bow and layered everything on top!

I love how this cracked glass looks! Oh, and see the top of my crocheted flower? I sprayed that with a spray adhesive and sprinkled Diamond Dust on top. Super sparkly in real life!
I am still tired, and still haven't created one thing. There is a challenge over at SCS to make a monochromatic card.....I am hoping to at least try that.....to get me back in the swing of things! Still haven't uploaded my pics from this weekend.....what the heck is wrong with me?

Gettin' Ready for Easter!

I am soooooooo ready for spring! The last couple of days have been gorgeous here in Chicago! Today is supposed to get in the 70's! But like typical Chicago weather.....it can change on a dime. Thursday's high? 41 degrees.........it's just not right! Anyway, I have been creating some Spring/Easter cards using a new product by Crafty Secrets, called Creative Scraps. The images are geared towards card makers and are absolutely beautiful. The images are truly mini pieces of art!

See what I mean? And the best part? No stamping! It creates a beautiful quick card!

And in case you were wondering......I have no idea who makes this paper. I pulled it out of my scraps drawer! I did pull out this clear orange buckle that I've probably had for 8 years. I pulled the ribbon through it and added rhinestones to the buckle part.

Still haven't gotten my pics from this weekend uploaded. I am so dang tired it is ridiculous and aggravating! Can you believe I haven't scrapped anything in one whole week?! I may start to go through withdrawal! And you know how when you are away from something too long it is hard to get back into it? That's me at the moment. Maybe I just need a quick swift kick in the you know what!

HAPPY TUESDAY!!!!

March Mix Continues!

Crafty Secrets and Tattered Angels are teaming up again this week for another fabulous line up of projects to share with you! These two companies are such a perfect fit for each other! I had one more project using the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and Crafty Secret's Image from the Childhood Journaling Booklet. I used stencils and Glimmer mist to create the background. The colors I used were Graphite, Copper, and Coffee Shop. IRL it has such incredible sparkle! I teamed this up with a picture of my son on his 12th birthday, vintage papers, Jenni Bowlin, Graphic 45 papers, and this sweet image of a teddy bear from Crafty Secrets.

Go check out the other DT blogs! Their projects are just beautiful!!!
****And just in case you were wondering......our basketball team took home the gold medal this weekend at Special Olympics! They won by 1 point and it was definitely a nail biter! I think personally, that they won because of all the cheering our cheerleaders did! LOL! I will post some pics tomorrow. It has been a busy, fun weekend that just wiped me (And the rest of my family) out!
Have a wonderful Monday!!!!
