Take Two on the Witch's Boot!

I couldn't resist making another witch's boot.
This time I wanted to add her leg and striped stockings.
And then one thing led to another and I ended up adding multiple roses, glittery leaves, and a spattering of sequins.
Sometimes these projects take on a life of their own! ;)
The flowers were cut using my Silhouette and the leaves are by Prima. I used Halloween papers from the Paperloft.
The box still holds Halloween treats like candy corn.
Unfortunately, the candy corn didn't survive the last photo shoot from the other boot.
Someone ate it all....   ;)
It's the weekend!
I have no real big plans.
Crafting, grocery shopping, hanging out with the family....
Quiet is good.  I need a bit of quiet. :)

Check back if you get a chance this weekend.
I will be hosting a giveaway and you won't want to miss it!

Paper Loft's May Sketch!

Good morning! Happy Thursday to you!
I wanted to share my card for this month's Paper Loft sketch challenge!
This challenge runs until 5/31/13.
One participant will be chosen as the guest designer, get a $30 gift certificate and special badge, AND will have their projects featured on the Paper Loft blog throughout the month of July.
To participate: Make a project (card, scrap layout, or any project that works with the sketch) using the sketch below.  Upload it to your blog or online gallery.  Leave a link on the Paper Loft blog HERE.

I loved the circular elements of this month's sketch.  I used my Spellbinder's dies to create them.  I added some homemade satin flowers and leaves to my largest circle.

I added various colors of twine with a bit of seam binding to pull my card together.
Tonight is Cortney's Fine Arts Fair at school.  Her school always does such a phenomenal job  making the school look a professional art gallery!  It is amazing to me what they are able to get the students to produce!
I am anxious to see what Cort created this year!
Have a great day my friends!

Paper Loft April Sketch!

Good morning! It is nearly the end of the month, and I am very late posting the April Sketch challenge for Paper Loft. This challenge runs until April 30th.....so hurry and create something! ;) Someone will be chosen as Guest Designer and receive a $30 gift certificate, a special badge and have their projects featured on the Paper Loft blog throughout the month of June.  To  participate: Make a project (card, scrap layout or any project that works with the sketch) using the provided sketch and upload it to your blog or online gallery. Leave a link to your project at the Paper Loft site. The Paper Loft products are not required to participate, but the winner will be chosen from a participant that uses The Paper Loft products somewhere on their project.

Here is my take on the sketch.  I continued the angled pieces to the edge and added red line tape and sprinkled glitter over it.  It is perfect for glittery stripes!
I left the twine a bit long to create a  "shooting star."

I apologize for being a slacker......I think I should be fired some days for this bloggy, crafty life I got goin' on! My "real" life keeps gettin' in the way! ;)

Friendship....

Good morning friends! I am hoping that I'm not losing my mind (I probably am), and that I hadn't previously posted this card and then forgot that I did so! That would be so typical of me!
I created this card using a clear sticker that had been in my stash for ages.
It was the kind of sticker that you sprinkle something pretty over it.....like glitter. ;) I chose this pretty brown by Martha Stewart.  I paired it with a sentiment and papers from the Paperloft.
I added a satin ribbon, a bit of lace, and a chocolate pearl.  It was once again, a fairly easy card to create, which for me is really saying something! ;)
Please don't forget to enter HERE to win a very generous gift certificate to the Shabby Apple!  They seriously have the cutest clothes and accessories!
Have a wonderful Thursday!!

Sketch Challenge!

Would you like a chance to be Paper Loft's Guest Designer for May?
To participate, make a project (card, scrap layout, or any project that works with the sketch below). Upload it to your blog or online gallery.  Leave a link HERE to your project using the link widget.  The Paper Loft products are not required to participate, but the winner will be chosen from a participant that uses the Paper Loft products somewhere on their project.
You may enter as many times as you want.
Easy right? ;)

Here is my card.  I deviated from the sketch a bit, but loved the element of horizontal stripes.  Each piece was inked and then adhered to the base piece.
I found these sentiments and loved them together.  So this created my two vertical boxes in the sketch. I couldn't resist adding a bit of seam binding and a quilled flower.  I also added a few coordinating rhinestones.
Off to school I go!  Have a great day my friends!
XOXO

JustRite's New Release-Day 3!

Today is Day 3 of JustRite's new release. This set is called Floral Vintage Labels Two.  I am drawn to flowers and fell in love with this set immediately! I decided to pull out my Tim Holtz Distress Markers.  I love the look these markers give to a project! I used Spellbinder's Vintage Label's Two die to cut out the image, and another Spellbinder's die to matte the image.
The card base was also Spellbinders! I used the Label's Twenty-Nine die. I love the pretty edge it gives to the card.  All the papers used here are by Paper Loft.
To finish off my card, I used Provo Craft's Quilling kit, a bit of twill, and a couple of leaves cut with my Cricut.
Here is the entire set.  Both flowers are absolutely stunning!  I love the font used in the sentiments too!
Be sure to visit the other designers' blogs.  They are going to knock your socks off with their talent!

I am always short on men's and kid's cards, so I decided to make a little boy card for my nephew's birthday.
I used Paper Loft's Funkysaurus paper and my Cricut to make the lil' dinosaur. I added a bit of brown Stickles around the edges to make it stand out a bit.
I am off today from school and heading to the dentist with the kiddos! Wish us luck that they get a clean bill of health!
Have a great day!

Paper Loft...

Good morning my crafty peeps!  I am so glad it is Friday!  We are celebrating our last installment of Kyle's 16th birthday.....with movie, dinner, and laser tag tomorrow night.  I think the "old" people are gonna whoop some teenage butt!  (Hopefully, I don't end up in traction!) ; )

I have a card today that uses papers from the fabulous Paper Loft Company.  The card base was cut using Spellbinder's dies, and the flower was cut using my Cricut. I added a bit of glitter to the edges of the flower.
I have been buying twine in all sorts of colors and I just loved this bright green.  I decided to use it as my accent color to go with my leaves.

Thank you too, for all of your kind words regarding Cort.  She did go to the GI doc and he did some blood work.  He is testing her for a few things that could affect her GI tract.  In the meantime, he changed her meds a bit, and now we have to wait and see what the effect will be.
There were no tears last night, as she seemed to rest comfortably.  No tears is always a good sign. :)
Have a great weekend!
I will have some VERY exciting news next week!
Stay tuned! :D

A Little Birdie Told Me.....

Good morning!  It is Thursday.  One day closer to the weekend! My baby boy, my youngest is turning 16 next week.  And since we have so many families, it turns into a birthday month for the kid! ; )  So that's what we'll be doing. Celebrating and crafting.  Lots of crafting. : D

I created these little birdie cards using my Silhouette and papers from Paper Loft.  The first one is the "masculine" bird.  Notice the absence of glitter? ; ) Even his flower is manly!
And of course that means the second bird is the girly bird!  She has glitter, and a bow in her hair!  I just love the size of these cards......perfect for a gift tag!
We had cheer leading on Tuesday.  And I know I've literally hit you over the head with photos and videos of  Cortney, you have to watch this one.  IT will brighten your day and make you smile.......guaranteed! It's short......but it will remind you,
"Dance like no one is watching......"

: )

Sunflowers....

I have to admit that this week has kicked my butt.  I couldn't be happier that today is Friday!  Some weeks are busier than others, and this one was a bit nuts.  Cort has a big fundraiser next Saturday for the Special Olympics Basketball game.  Last night was "media" day.  Channel 5 news, here in Chicago, came to tape a segment on the basketball team. The kids were so excited!  We were home around 9 though, so my girl was tired.  (As was her mama!)
So I guess what I'm trying to say is, I am really, really, going to enjoy my weekend! ; )
I have another Paper Loft card to share with you today.  The circle card and sunflowers were cuts by Silhouette.  I backed the circles with the Paper Loft pine cone paper. I love that it has kind of a window effect!
The flower centers were popped up and a generous amount of Flower Soft was added to the centers. I added  a sentiment from JustRite, ribbon, and green twine to finish it off.
I have some exciting news to share with you next week regarding Cortney.  I literally have to keep pinching myself to be sure that this is real.
I will be back this weekend with more JustRite releases and my big news!

Paper Loft Sketch Challenge!

Good morning and happy "hump" day to ya!  Paper Loft is having their monthly sketch challenge!  You could win a Paper Loft prize package and become Paper Loft's March Guest Designer! Check out the Paper Loft blog for all the details!
I love sketches because it takes a lot of the guess work out of designing a card.  I often don't have a clue how to start, as for me, the layout is the most difficult part.
Sketches do the hard part for ya!
I used images from the Happy collection. I matted the hearts on cream card stock and used scalloped scissors to create a subtle matte.  I did a bit of machine stitching to add a pop of red to the background paper.  I added lace, folded up the bottom heart and added loads of glitter to it.
I used my Silhouette to cut the daisy.  Flowers always seem to be the perfect accent!
This week has been a bit tough getting back into a routine, but it is good to be back!  I just sometimes wish school started at 10 AM instead.........  ; )

Today is the last day to enter Cindy's Coutts on-line card class giveaway!  Be sure to enter HERE!

Have a great day my friends!

Joy*Love*Peace

Good morning and happy Thursday to you!  I have been trying to get caught up with a bit of Christmas shopping.  Hubby and I decided to go for a bit last night.  It was so much better than trying to fight the crowds on the weekend!  We aren't done, but at least we made a dent in our list!
I have a card today that I made using the Snow Globe set by Crafty Secrets.  These gals were colored with Copic Markers and touches of glitter were added here and there.  The papers are from Paper Loft and uses the sketch from the this week's challenge.
I added a few pops of red as my accent color....
Would you like to win Paper Loft products and become their next Guest Designer?  Just create a project using this sketch and upload it to your blog or online gallery. (If you upload to galleries use keyword  PLS01) Leave a link HERE using the link widget at the bottom of their post.  You may enter as many time as you'd like, just be sure to use Paper Loft products somewhere on your project.  Easy!

Have a great day!

Aged to Perfection...

Good morning to you!  It is back to work for me today, as well as the normal chasing that comes along with having kids! ; )  Therapy, cheer leading, doc appts. etc....
I have a card I created using a variety of my favorite products.  The paper is all from Paper Loft. I adore the Earthy tones! The background is a new die from Papertrey Ink.  The flower was cut using my Silhouette machine.
I added some pretty silk ribbon from Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply store.  The sentiment is also from Paper Loft.
I have been wanting to share some of Cort's modeling photos, and kept getting sidetracked! She was lucky enough to model for a Chicago designer, Katie Conway.  This talented gal made the dress, blazer, and scarf.
I am so pleased with how well the photos turned out.  Especially since it was a wee bit chilly that day!

This one is my favorite.  The boots, the waterfall behind her.....she looks perfect.
Off to start my busy day!
Have a great day my friends!
