Who Can Resist a Good Pair of Shoes?

I don't know a woman alive who doesn't like a good pair of shoes!  I work with a few "shoe obsessed" teachers and thought it would be fun to make them their own special shoe.  A shoe that could be filled with a sweet treat! I used the Princess Party Cartridge.  It was so easy to make!  I just added a few embellishments to dress it up.....
Like a paper bow cut from the 3-D bows cartridge, that I inked and glittered.

A couple of vellum flowers were added, complete with a rhinestone.....because what diva doesn't like a little bling too? ; )

The end of the school year is approaching quickly.  Just a couple of weeks left! Today, we are taking our fifth graders to Robert Crown. It is an educational site where the students learn about puberty and such. All week, they've been so nervous to go! I actually remember going myself, when I was their age.  I remember how anxious I was about it.

After school, I am shopping for a dwarf tree to plant in our new garden in the backyard.  I will share pictures as soon as it is finished!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I love your visits!!

Live Your Dream....

Do you ever have weeks where you feel you are just trying to keep your head above water? That has been me for the last few.....trying to help my son get ready for his finals....working on projects around the house, wrapping up end of year things at school, doctor's appointments, etc.  In a  It is difficult for me to give up my craft is my happy place.  But right now, my kids need me more and with the arrival of spring, and the end of another school year, there are a million and one things to do.  But I know I am preaching to the choir here.... ; )

With graduations approaching, I thought I would make a card that isn't the usual graduation cap, but instead  a suitcase.  A symbol of the new graduate's journey. It was cut with my Cricut and the Best Images of 2007 cartridge.  I stamped it with a new background stamp from JustRite called, Vintage Travel in Hawaiian Shores ink.  I love the sentiment, Live Your Dream, from JustRite.  It is part of the Summer Words set.  I cut it out with a circle Spellbinder's die and inked the edges in avocado ink.

I added flowers, leaves, ribbon, rhinestones, and a bit of lace to finish off the top.  The flowers were created from Provo Craft's Daisy Quilling kit.
I know I'm a bit late, but I wanted to share a few photos I took on Mother's Day.  This first one is my mom with her four grandchildren.
My nephew and niece, Alex and Katie. : )
Alex and Katie with their sister.

My family and I.....

My sister, my mom, and I.
We stopped to see my husband's Gram and mom.......This is Kyle with his gram....

Brian's Gram (92) and his mom........

We are blessed to have these amazing women in our lives........
I hope your Mother's Day was just as blessed!
Have a wonderful Thursday!

There is something about vintage things that I adore. When I first started scrapbooking and cardmaking, my style was not yet defined.  I emulated others a lot! (And many most times unsuccessfully!)  I am not sure when exactly, my style evolved.  But anything vintage, lacy, girly, me.  I thought maybe by now I'd be tired of it.  I'm not.  It's what I love, and I am comfortable with the kind of artist I've become.

I created this card for Cricut Magazine's Family idea book.  It was made for the Grandparent's section.  I used the Heritage cartridge to create the trio of Cameos.  I added pearls to each, and popped the center one up a bit.
I added a bit of seam binding, a button, pearl, and black twine.  The stamp was from my stash ages ago.
If you are looking for a variety of projects to make with your Cricut......this is a fabulous magazine! Northridge does a great job at getting a cross section of projects and their photography is gorgeous!
I hope you all had a wonderful day today!!! Thanks so much for visiting!
