Sending You Sunshine!

Can you believe it is Friday AND the sun is actually shining here? Today is supposed to feel like spring........finally! On top of that goodness I have two cards to share with you today! I know.....it's a rare thing here on the ole' blog.....don't know what got into me! ; )

JustRite is releasing its 3rd new set called Sending You Sunshine. It is such a great set because it combines beautiful images to color along with great sentiments. My first card was a "colored" card!
The main image was colored with my Copics. I stamped the image again, colored one of flowers a second time, cut it out, glossy accented it, and adhered it to the image. The rest of the image was also glossy accented. I added teeny pearls to their centers. The sentiment was stamped with a olive Color Box ink. Image and sentiment were cut out using my circle Spellbinder's die. The oval and fancy tag are also by Spellbinders called, Fancy Tags Three. And as usual.....not to surprise anyone in the least, they were glittered!

The paper is Basic Grey's Lime Ricky paper pack.

For my next card I cut a tree with my Cricut machine. I stamped my sentiment with a pink Color Box ink and cut it out using a circle Spellbinder's die. I also cut out a scalloped circle to place behind it. The tree was cut at 3" and was Cuttlebugged using the Swiss Dots folder. The edges were then glittered. The trunk was embossed with a Papertrey Ink wood grain impression plate. The frame in the background is also a Cuttlebug embossing folder. (I've tried looking it up on the site and am unable to locate it......not sure why!)

This card is a bit lumpy and bumpy.......just the way I like it! ; )

Smile.....

Good morning! I have another brand new set to share with you today by JustRite. This set is called Smile. I love the sentiments of this set! The outer rings remind me of stained glass and the particular one I chose for my card was so fun to color!
The outer ring was colored with Copics and the center was cut out with a Spellbinder's circle die. The outside circle was hand cut. I added a bit of glossy accents to the perimeter and a bit of glitter. I used paper by K & Company and embossed the back panel with a Cuttlebug folder by Provo Craft. The sentiment was stamped with an orange Colorbox ink and sprinkled with clear embossing powder to set the ink. I cut it out with a smaller circular Spellbinder's die and sponged around the edges. I popped out the outer ring on foam squares for dimension.

For my finishing touches, I added a few pearls, some seam binding, and nestled a little "Puffy" from K Company into the seam binding. A bit of Pink Paislee twine was tied and a pearl added to its center.

Be sure to pop on over to the other ladies' blogs for some beautiful eye candy!

I hope you have a wonderful day!!! : )

New Release by JustRite!

Good morning! Today is an exciting day because it is the day JustRite releases their brand new set called, Butterfly Garden! It is such a beautiful set and a fabulous one to color!
For my card today, I used Copic Markers to color my image. I colored the butterfly twice and cut the second one out. It was glossy accented and glittered. I also added pearls to its body. I then adhered it with a foam square for dimension. The sentiment was stamped in green on green paper by K & Company. I cut out the circles with Spellbinder's dies. I added foam squares between the layers to create a sort of shadow box effect. Behind the image is a tag from K & Company. I added a bit of seam binding, pearls, and a small Prima flower to finish it off.

Did you know that JustRite is having a May Sale? All of their Nested Frames and Sentiments are 20% off. Want to know more? There is also a retirement sale on certain sets.... so be sure to visit JustRite! .

Live Your Bliss.....

Good morning to you! Sometimes I love to create just to create. It doesn't happen often because I am usually on deadlines and such with my DT work. But last weekend I had a couple of hours to just play. I had bought these little "Puffies" by K Memories. They were so darling that I made a card with each of them! So today I will show you one of the cards using this adorable blinged out tree! I used some paper by October Afternoon and a few scraps that I had in my stash for the scalloped edges. The circle is a Maya Road chipboard circle that had been painted, inked, glossy accented, and glittered! ( I love that you make any noun into a verb! ; ) The grass was cut using Martha Stewart's fringe scissors. I squashed it, crinkled it, and bent it to give it lots of dimension! I kind of just squished it into the circle and glued it in place. The tag was cut using my Cricut and the Sentimental's cartridge. The sentiment is by Papertrey Ink. I used a bit of seam binding and pearls to finish it off.

And I know lately it seems like the "Cortney blog," but there has been so much going on.....and eventually life will get quiet again and it will be all cards, cards, cards again here! ; ) But for one more day, I have to post about Cort. Why? Because today is her 16th birthday!

Yesterday we visited my MIL and FIL for my FIL's birthday as well as Cort's. My MIL made this cute cake!

Papa helped Cort blow out the candles.......

Can you tell she is belting out, "Happy Birthday dear Papa!" here? ; )

And just to prove that I really do have another child, (He is a bit neglected on the ole' blog these days), here are my two together...........*sigh* Don't they look sweet? ; )

From the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you, thank you, for all of your sweet comments! It is so heart warming to be able to share with all of you and have it received so kindly.

Have a wonderful day!
