New Crafty Secret's Stamps!

Many of you asked for Christmas cards......so here ya go! I got a huge box of Crafty Secrets stuff last week and was finally able to dive in and play. This is a new stamp set called, Season's Greetings. The images in this set are gorgeous. I stamped the image with Momento ink and then colored her in with my Copics.
The "snowball" was glitzed up with my Sakura glue pen and SU! glitter. I cut the image out with my square Spellbinder's Nestibilities. The edges were inked with Tim Holtz Old Paper and Frayed Burlap ink. The paper is by Cosmo Cricket. I did a little sewing with my machine and added a snowflake border. (Martha Stewart) The corner piece is from Tattered Angels and was sprayed with Rose Glimmer Mist and then the edges were distressed with ink.
The sentiment is from Papetrey Ink......because I needed something little to fit in that space!

Our new carpeting is in and now I need to call for an installation date. I can't wait! My curtains are on backorder for the living room until the end of October. I am pretty dang tired of living in a fishbowl! After that.....we are done redecorating for awhile. Then I can concentrate on the holidays and such!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!!! : )
Have a great Wednesday!!!!

Haunted House.....

Fall is my favorite time of the year.......I love living in Chicago and experiencing 4 seasons each year. I get bored with being hot all the time.....and get bored of the cold. So spring and fall jump in at just the right time! I know some people think I am crazy, but I love it! Something about the cooler temps, warm clothes, and the coziness of the house just gets to me. I love the smell of the furnace when you turn it on for the first time and my scented candles. I love putting out my pumpkins, planting my Mums, and decorating the house for Halloween. So to celebrate my favorite time of the year, I have created a little Haunted House......ok it's not that haunted, but still. : ) Can it be a cute haunted house?? I used Noel Mignon's 31st Kit, (sold out) and my JustRite, Witch Way to the Treats, set. (Also, sold out) The JR stamp was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with some glittery green powder. I used my Spellbinder's Nestibilities to cut out the circles. I created a fence using my Martha Stewart punch, a tree with some "scary" spider webs on it.
The house was cut using my newest Cricut cartridge, Winter Wonderland. (At least I think that is the name of the new cartridge...) I am planning on making a few more to decorate my classroom. I think the kids will get a kick out of them!
Happy Tuesday to y'all! : )

Wanna Win Adobe LightRoom 2.0?

As a way of saying thank you to her loyal customers, Noel is holding a challenge for a chance to win a HUGE prize! It is the Adobe Lightroom 2.0! What do you have to do you ask?
You just need to use 5 unique NoelMignon kit items, other than patterned paper. Paper does not count. So you can use letters, stickers, vintage items, ribbons, brads...etc. And you must have at least 5 items per entry. You can enter as many projects as you like! All work must be made for this challenge. And please list your items, and the kits they are from, in your link, so Noel can verify that you have followed the rules. And please, please, please leave a link in the comments section on this blog so Noel can find you easily! : ) The challenge runs to October 9th and the winner will be announced on the 12th. Good luck!

Here is my take on Noel's challenge. Our little family went to the zoo this summer and of course I went a bit camera crazy! I used embellishments and papers from the Getaway kit, Rise & Shine, and Picnic Basket. My inspiration came from Cort's floppy hat and glasses! So not your traditional "zoo" colors!
Man oh man did the weekend fly by or what??? Off to get ready for school......*sigh* : )

Beware of Lobster...

First let me just thank you for everyone's kinds words and supportive advice. I really appreciate your concern over my son. (And that includes my family who has e-mailed me!) I know this is all part of being a mom and a kid......but I can't help but worry. Kyle did join drama club and had his first meeting yesterday. He said it was fun and seemed in a better mood. I didn't question him too deeply.......thought I'd leave it alone. Let's see where this drama club takes him. (And secretly, I'll be praying and keeping my fingers crossed like crazy! )

With the LO I am about to show you, you may think me disturbed. Crazy. A little Loco. I spend my hard earned money on Halloween costumes for my dog. Yep. My dog. I can't help myself....he is so patient and good in his silly costumes! It cracks me up! I found this lobster costume at Target a few weeks ago and HAD to buy it! So here he is.....in all his lobstery glory! : )

See? Told you you he was cute!!!

I used Noel Mignon's 31st kit. (sold out!) If you missed out on this fabulous kit, she is previewing her newest one coming out for November. Click HERE to get some sneak peeks! You will be able to pre-order soon, if you wanna grab one!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!! Have a great weekend!

8th Grade....

As most of you know, getting pictures of Cortney can be difficult. Not only does she have to try and keep her head straight, but she has trouble looking at the camera. (Her eyes wander a lot due to her nystagmus) When she smiles, I usually get a tonsil shot. Not attractive. But these pics......ahhhhhh these pics were perfect of my girl. Blue eyes, great smile....cute, cute, cute!

I used Noel Mignon's Core Curriculum kit (sold out), for this LO.

I did a little Photoshopping to the photos. : )
It was a tough night last night in the Kovack household. Having children can just rip your heart out at times. (My mom warned me about that!) My son was in tears all night. My big guy....7th grade......crying. His supposed "friend" has been nasty to him, so he mustered up the courage to call him and find out why he was being treated so poorly, only to have his friend repeatedly say, "Whatever." As a mother I wanted to rip the phone out of Kyle's hands and ask this kid what the heck his problem was.......but I didn't. I waited until their one sided conversation was over. Then consoled my boy as his heart was breaking. Being a kid is tough. As a mother you want to fix everything.........but can't. So I guess the best I can do is give a lot of hugs, some advice, and an ear to listen with.
Today is picture day at my school, so I need to get a move on and pick out some pretty clothes!
I have Spanish class after school today......so busy, busy day!
Have a great one!!!!! : )
