My New Freedom....

This week's challenge over at the Noel Mignon Blog is to scrap about a time when you have felt a certain type of freedom. Every DT member took a different approach and it was interesting to see the individual topics chosen. Mine was about the fact that now that my children are older, it does allow me a certain amount of freedom. No longer are the days of chasing a busy toddler, or taking care of a crying infant. Not that I don't miss those days, because believe me, I do. But there is something to be said about this age. Yes, the problems they possess are a bit bigger then when they are 3 or 4, yes, they still need guidance (lots of it!), attention, and support......but I don't have to worry about my little one getting into a forbidden cabinet, climbing something too tall, ingesting something they shouldn't......etc.

This means time for me. Time to indulge in this hobby that I so enjoy. Time to recharge my batteries............and I am rather enjoying this new found freedom!! : )

LO uses Noel Mignon's Sun-Kissed Kit. (Sold out!) But head on over to the MB to get a sneaky peeky at her newest kit called Office Party! It goes up for sale on July 15th!!!

Off to Shriner's Hospital again today......for Cort's fitting of her new leg braces. (AFO's). As always, it is pretty much an all day event since it is an hour or so from the house. (OK...maybe freedom is a bit limited today! LOL)

Thanks for stopping by! I love reading your comments and truly it does make my day! : )

Happy Hour!

Good morning to you!!! I had a great weekend! It was nice getting away for a bit with no crafting, no computers, and just spending time with my kids and extended family. Sometimes, I get so wrapped up in this hobby, that I hate to say it, other things get neglected from time to time. It was good to get some perspective on what is really important!

Anyway, I have a card I created awhile ago for the JustRite catalog, but it didn't quite make it in there, so I figured I'd share it here. It uses the 2 inch Girl Time Borders and Center's set. I used Spellbinder's Small circles, Martha Stewart Paper, Papertrey in white, and SU! in black. The drinks were colored with Copics and Crystal Effects was added to them to give them a shine. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and sprinkled with SU! white embossing powder.

I did a add a teeny black brad to the clock hands and cut out the drink and popped it up on pop dots.

I am off to tutor this morning while Cort is at school and Kyle is at Drama......then it is back in the pool we go!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will try and come visit you today too! : )

A Wedding Card....

I know it is the Fourth in a couple of days.....but I don't have anything patriotic to share with you. I have been so busy with CHA projects that I haven't had much time to create for myself! So this is what you get today! If you squint your eyes really hard, it kind of looks red, white, and blue.......right?.........work with me people!
Anyways, this is a Papertrey card I created awhile back with their new die/stamp combo. (Love this Bug!) I stamped it in black and Hawaiian Shores ink. I used various sized Nestibilities and topped it off with a satin ribbon and great big Prima flower!
Pearls were added to the headlights and Crystal Effects was added to the windshield. I loved the sentiment on the license plate and think this would be perfect for a recent engagement or wedding.

I am heading to Michigan today. All of our crap........ahem....stuff, is sittin' by the front door ready to go! I am very much looking forward to spending time with family and lounging by the water. I am hoping Kyle gets the chance to water ski and Cortney in the tube. (I need scrapbooking material! LOL!)
Hope your holiday weekend is fantastic! I'll "see" you next week!

Forgot to Show You Cort's Favors and Disco Balls!

My MIL and I created 50 graduation favors for Cort's party a few weeks ago. We did lots and lots AND lots of punching! We even had Kyle pitch in a bit! We had all the body parts in separate bowls so we could set up an assembly line and create these little "Cortney" cheerleaders! (She is a cheerleader for our local Special Recreation dept.) We worked for about 6 or so hours. Everything was done except the writing and placing them on the pillow boxes. (Thank goodness for my MIL who was gracious enough to finish that part!)

And in case you are wondering..... because my family was wondering at the party.....her shirt says Elim! (The name of her school!) They thought it said, Ellen or something. Dorks. : )

And here is my funny, funny husband. Get a load of those shorts! He actually paid for those! And not cheap I might add.....from an on-line store called Loud Mouth Golf Apparel. Apparently, it's not enough to golf anymore, now you have to be obnoxiously dressed while you golf! LOL! And in case you are interested in buying these for yourself or your spouse, this particular style is called, "Disco Balls." : )

Ha. Ha. Disco Balls.
Have a great day!
