My First Ever On-line Class!
I am so excited to offer you my first ever card's class, being held from August 24th-28th at NoelMignon.com. It will be geared towards the beginner/intermediate stamper. I will be offering information on differences between the various papers, inks, and mediums out there. You will learn how to achieve depth to your stamped images, learning the fundamentals of shadows and highlights. There will be various fun techniques offered and a downloadable image as well as a template created by me. The class will include lots of pictures and samples to look at. (I am a visual learner, so I love having pictures! ) There will be a separate thread for those participating in the class at Noelmignon.com. You will be able to ask questions and chat. The private thread will be open after August 21st so you can go back and review the discussions at your leisure. The cost of the class is $15.00. If you are ready for some fun, click on the PayPal button to your right to purchase the class. You will receive a confirmation e-mail to tell you what steps to take next! I hope to see you there! : )

Quick Post Today....
Once again, life has gotten waaaaay busy! I think I am trying to get everything done before I head back to school in another week. Which just reminded me that I desperately need to start setting up my classroom. My crafting time and computer time have been low priority lately.....hopefully, life will settle down, and I can get more creative time in! I am finally sending thank you's for Cort's party......that I had like 4 weeks ago. Better late than never, I guess. I used flat panel cards that I bought from Michaels ages ago. I cut strips of DP for the side to give it a bit of color. I used my JustRite sets, Damask Monograms and From the desk/library/kitchen of. I used my Nesties for layering. I wrote all the thank you's on my computer. The font is by Becky Higgins.
Just to let you know, Noel Mignon and the DT are hosting a 6 day Sizzlin' Crop! It starts today!! There are challenges, prizes, chatting, and games!!! Hope you can pop in and play along with us!!!

Happy Tuesday!

A Little Fall in August....
It is 90 somethin' degrees here with 100% humidity......and yet I've got the fall cleaning bug! I have been up to my elbows with cleaning, reorganizing, and painting. Yesterday I spent 6 hours painting woodwork. We are redoing our upstairs hallway. (Which BTW, is right outside my scrapbook room! ) But you know how one thing leads to another? Now I need new window treatments, a new corner piece for books and knick knacks....... *sigh* Anyway, it is very liberating to freshen things up!
So in honor of my "fall" frame of mind, I am sharing another Crafty Secret's post card. These were a HUGE hit at CHA! They are gorgeous and make beautiful lil' hangings! I use Modge Podge to layer the paper over the chipboard. I trim it once it is dry, sand it lightly, then use Tim Holtz ink in antique linen to distress the edges. I added some Halloween ribbon and used the smaller chipboard pieces as cute accents on the ribbon.
OK, after looking at the back of this postcard, I am sort of wondering why the heck I stamped it sideways! Oh well.....too late now! Just shows you how "off" I am! : )

So what am I up to today? A little more cleaning, and hopefully back in the pool!
Have a great day everyone!!!!

Cleaning and purging....
Have I ever told you how much "stuff" I have? I seriously have a problem with throwing things away.........it is a sickness! (Of course it doesn't stop me from buying either!) Brian and I have been slowly repainting the house.....which leads to cleaning.......which leads to purging and simply throwing the crap away. I should grab my camera and show you the piles I have ready to go to Amvets. There are probably hundreds of dollars sittin' there. Oh, and let's not even mention the scrapbook room........I may enter and never come out again! I have stuff shoved in every nook and cranny of that room. I worked for 6 hours yesterday and it looks like I did absolutely nothing! What does that tell you?! I have decided that when it is time to paint that I am going with hot pink! Yep.....hot pink! White trim, some cute lil' white and hot pink curtain toppers....! Oh, I can't wait!
Anyway, since I have done nothing crafty for the past couple of days.....because I am so busy cleaning.....that I thought I'd show you a LO of my niece that I did a couple of weeks ago. The picture was taken up in Michigan on the 4th. Her favorite thing to do, was to build sandcastles. Of course our sandcastles were completed with faces! We must have built and rebuilt our sandcastles at least a dozen times! : ) I used Noel Mignon's Five Foot Two kit. (sold out)

Time to go grab the bags and fell 'em up for charity......
Off to see my Gram today too..... : )
Have a fantastic weekend!!!!

Guest Designer for Sweet 'n Sassy!
I am excited to tell you that I will be a guest designer for Sweet 'n Sassy stamps this month! I was previously on their DT and was honored to be asked back! : )
If you remember a couple of days ago, I posted a LO of my daughter and her friends using Sweet 'n Sassy's, In His Time, set. For today's card, I used the same set. I ADORE these butterflies! I colored the image with my Copics and added pearls to the body and wings. I stamped the sentiment with Momento ink. Using my Nestibilities, I airbrushed the image a bit. The paper and ribbon is by Papertrey Ink.

Going Vintage....
Well, for those of you staying up late worrying about my poor hubby......( a wee bit of sarcasm there! : ) He is doing great! As a matter of fact, he says he feels much better now that the tooth is gone. Now he has to get a root canal on his other back molar. He is really jumping up and down over that one! (again........sarcasm..... : ) Yesterday I was off the computer the whole day....can you believe it? I tutored in the morning and then was asked to go to lunch with two of my very good friends/coworkers. The three of us headed to TJ Max for some shopping. 3 hours we were in that darn store! We had such a great time together! Kyle is at his Gram's, and hubby was out to dinner with an old boss, so that just left Cort and me. She and I had dinner, took an hour long walk around the neighborhood, and then swam until 7:30 PM. I have been diligently working on some thank you's for Cort's friends but have yet to finish them! So that is my story.........
On to my card! I used Crafty Secret's Garden Scraps for the main image. The background was done with Spellbinder's Impressibilities and Glimmer Mist. I didn't want the background competing with my image so I added a layer of cream cardstock. I pierced it, inked it, and distressed it. For my finishing touches I added a paper key, ribbon, Prima flower, and a few pretty stick pins.

They are Why I Scrapbook....
This week's challenge over at Noel Mignon's was to scrap about why we scrapbook. Well for me, like a lot of people, I scrap to leave my children with concrete memories that they can look back on, and I want them to know how much I love them. I hope it shows through my pages......
The picture isn't the greatest....in fact it is a bit blurry, but I loved that Kyle was reading to his big sis and that the dog just had to be there......protecting them both. It was one of those moments I peeked in and my heart melted....... : )
The page was created using Noel Mignon's Five Foot Two kit.
Head on over HERE to play along with us!

This has been quite the dentistry week for the Kovack family let me tell ya! First Kyle had his braces put on. Then Brian went in for a root canal only to be told that his tooth couldn't be saved. Since they only did a partial root canal, he is in LOTS of pain. He is scheduled today to have the tooth extracted. He is actually leaving work early to have it done.......which if you know my husband.....that NEVER happens! This morning, Cortney went for her first set of x-rays. Her regular dentist wanted us to go to a specialist who deals with handicapped children. This guy wanted to anesthetize Cort to get the X-rays. I really didn't want to do that, so I called a different dentist who also specializes in handicapped children. So she went there today.....and she SUCCESSFULLY got her bite wings done! Yippee! And even better......she had perfect teeth!!!
So I guess, I need to get prepared to baby my hubby tonight...... cuz you know how well men deal with pain.................... : )
Have a great day!
