New Release by JustRite!

I am so excited to share a new set by JustRite being released this Friday!!! All of the new sets coming out are so beautiful and fun to color! This image is part of the Plant a Little Love set. It has 4 centers and borders in a 3 1/2 inch size. I chose the Wild Roses image. I colored them in with Copics, cut the image out, covered it with Crystal Effects and sprinkled the centers with a bit of glitter. I love the dimension the Crystal Effects gives the image! I also popped it up a bit with pop dots. I used my new Martha Stewart border punch for the top, along with a bit of sewing. The satin ribbon is from Michaels, and the lace is from Wal-Mart. (yep........Wal-Mart!)
I am not sure who makes the polka dot paper.......cuz it was a piece from my "scrap" pile. The plastic rose is from Making Memories.
Want a few more sneaks? Head on over to the other DT gals' blogs!
There will be sneaks all week along with our Garden Blog Hop on the 18th!!! : )

Off work today to take Cort to an eye specialist for her check up. It is a bit of a far drive.....and they will dilate her eyes.....so I will be gone most of the day!
Have a great Monday!!!!!

CHA Sneak Peeks!

I love this time of year......when companies start releasing their sneak peeks of the upcoming new products!!! Crafty Secret's owner Sandy Redburn has been busy whipping up some fun new stamp sets and new Vintage Scraps. In addition to what you see here.......our DT leader Vicki Chrisman teamed up with Accucut to create 2 new dies to work with the new Fairy Scraps.....or anything else your imagination can dream up! The DT will be having a blog hop this coming Thursday to show you what we've done with these new dies!

Have a wonderful Saturday!!! (I am heading out my first day of class............ : )

Some People Add Such Joy to Life....

Happy Friday!!! I am so glad this week is over. Between going back to work, this crazy snow and cold, and my van......I am ready for the weekend! My van was fixed.......temporarily. The mechanic told me I need a new exhaust pipe. It has little holes in it, and he welded a bit of it and filled in the holes with some kind of cement putty. In the next 6 months or so, it will need to be fixed properly. Today, we got dumped with snow.....and apparently, tonight we are expecting some lake effect snow on top of the 6 or so inches we've already gotten! Ahhhhhh, such is life I guess. : )

And since I am such a gluten for punishment......I am starting a graduate course this Saturday. It is from 9-4 for six Saturdays. (You know I have nothing but time.......nothing but time.... LOL!) It is a course on using technology in the classroom. If I complete the class I get to keep a small 10 inch laptop computer loaded with Adobe and a few other programs.

On to my card! This is a sweet image from the Crafty Secret's Couple of Cuties set. I colored this little gal in with my Copics. The paper is Martha Stewart. The panel behind her was a plain colored card stock that I sprayed with an adhesive and sprinkled with glitter. (yep.....made my own glittered cardstock in the color I wanted!) I added a pretty Papertrey bow and a vintage button tied with floss. The sentiment was cut out using Spellbinder's tags.

Wish me luck on my class! It has been many years since I've gone to school. (The Spanish class didn't count....no tests, no homework!)

Have a fabulous weekend!

To Have and to Hold....

Good morning to you! I am so glad it is already Wednesday! I have to take my van in this morning......due to the very loud muffler/catalytic converter? I am keeping my fingers crossed that it is a muffler/exhaust problem........NOT the catalytic converter!

Anyway, the reason you came here.............. : )

This is a card I created with my Wild Card cartridge and JustRite stamps. The paper is Melissa Frances and Papertrey Ink. I used my scalloped scissors to add a bit of "chocolate" peeking out from the pale pink DP. I used Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds for some "frosting." I used the wedding set from JustRite, stamped in Versamark and embossed with gold Zing! embossing powder. The circles were cut using my Spellbinders. I also airbrushed and distressed the edges a bit. The flowers are by Prima. As a last touch the tag was sprayed with Shimmerz. : )

Stay warm wherever you are.........Good ole' Chicago is expecting 6-8 inches of snow tonight......can someone say, snow day??
Have a great one!!!

Love....

I found this tutorial on SCS on how to make your own buttons......and decided to play around and make my own! You just punch your shapes about 6 or 7 times, glue the papers together, and coat the top with Crystal Effects. After it is dry, you punch holes with a Cropodile. Easy peasy! (I used my Spellbinder's heart dies. ) I also used a jump ring to connect the two hearts! You know......two hearts as one? (Everyone say awwwwww!) I used up some scraps I had from last years Valentine stash and a sentiment from Papertrey Ink. Oh! And see the little scallop peeking out? That is Spellbinders too! It is from their scalloped frame die. I just used the edge of it!

The Appt. Reminder is from Fresh Laundry.
Just a quick post this morning........I have to get ready for work. Vacation is officially over.....reality has hit me square in the head! (Oh wait that was Brian! HA HA!)
Have a great one!!!!! : )

All Girl...

I can't believe it is Monday already! That means back to work for me......I know I don't usually get much sympathy! : ) It's all good though.....I love the gals I work with, and I have a great group of kids this year!

Anyway, this week's challenge at Noel Mignon was called Sugar and Spice. We were to use pink, fabric, bling, and buttons. Easy enough! I used Noel's Paper Doll kit. (sold out) The journaling was freebie from Jessica Sprague. It is a template you download to Adobe, open it up and just type your journaling along the text path. (And believe me, if I can do it, a monkey can do it!)

This is my niece Hannah, showing off her pretty new skirt she got for Christmas. This was her favorite gift of all! Anything dress up or girly and she loves it!

This Prima dress form came in the kit. I dressed it up a bit with some pink tulle, a bit of vintage lace, and a Maya Road flower.

And just an FYI......Noel has her entire store on sale until January 8th! A good time to stock up!!!

And just in case you were concerned......the ole' nose is doing just fine. I bit sore and bruised, but that's all! Brian must have apologized a zillion times, and yes, he did pamper me a bit!
Thanks so much for taking time out of your day to visit!!!! : )

A Card and Some Bling!

Happy New Year to you my friends! I celebrated my New Years with my little family. We devoured our steaks and lobster, played a few games, watched the countdown with Dick Clark, barely made it to midnight, had our quickie toast with sparkling grape juice, and off to bed we went! (Sounds pretty darn exciting doesn't it? Then to ring in this new year, I got injured. Yep......at about 12:05. And in a pretty stupid way too! I was leaning over my bed, petting my dog, when Brian comes in, trips on our decorative pillows, I turned to see what the heck he was doing (cuz he is 6ft 4 and a pretty big guy), and he head butts me in the nose. Let's just say I cried like a little baby! I have a little cut from my glasses and my nose is bruised but not broken! Thank goodness! He felt really bad, so I've been milking it just a bit! : )

Anyway, on to my card. I love this coffee set from JustRite. It is perfect for all my coffee drinking girlfriends out there. I colored it in with my Prismas twice and cut out the 2nd cup. I used Crystal Effects on top of it and popped it up with a pop dot. I used my Nesties and airbrush for the circles. I did a bit of machine stitching too.

And......what would the holidays be without a bit of bling? I found this amazing new jewelry site called LuShae Jewelry. They have some beautiful pieces at reasonable prices! This is the piece I had to have! (This picture taken before my nose was practically broken! LOL)
Here it is up close! LOVE IT!
Well.....we are off to see Avatar with the family......hope we can sit that long!

Have a fabulous Friday and weekend!!!! Hugs to all of you!!!!!! : )
