Is a Football the Right Shape for an Easter Egg?

I really wanted to make an egg shaped card.......I mean really wanted to! And would you believe that with all the Cricut cartridges I own, none of them have an egg shape? So what's a girl to do? Improvise!

I used the Just Because Cards cartridge, and used the football image! OK.....maybe it's a bit wonky.....but it was the best I could do! ; ) I used my Gypsy to weld the egg/football together and cut it at 5". I also used a sweet Crafty Secret's image from the Seasonal Image and Journal Booklet. The frame is by Tattered Angels and was inked and glittered. I also added some Platinum Stickles to the edges.
I cut the tag using my Sentimental's cartridge and a sentiment by Papertrey Ink.

So are ya laughing at me? It's totally OK......I know I am a dork! ; )

Have a wonderful and blessed Easter!

Hello Thursday!

Good morning! Today is always such a fun day because once a month Provo Craft releases their new cartridges! I got the opportunity to play with a couple of the cartridges which were posted on the Cricut Circle blog......but I was able to squeak out one more card using the brand new cartridge called Paper Lace 2. And yes, there is a Paper Lace 1......you can find that one HERE. I adore these cartridges because doilies and such are all the rage right now and you can cut your own using these cartridges. The possibilities are endless! I cut 1 at 3 1/4" using yellow paper. I used glossy accents and lots of glitter. I then used the shadow cut and layered the pieces. This became the "backdrop" to my little vintage tag. I also used last month's release, Elegant Edges to create a frame for the tag. That was also glittered. ( I know.....surprise, surprise!) I used some seam binding and pearls to finish it off. The papers are by Crate Paper and Basic Grey.

Also.....I am super excited to share THIS with you! A Sneak peek at the Cricut Birthday's Book! ; )
Have a wonderful Thursday!

Celebrate Today!

Hey there! What a week it has been. I've been away from my computer and craft room a bit. Other things in life right now have been a bit higher on the priority list.....and need to be taken care of. So if you notice a bit of sporadic posting.....you will know why.

I have a card today that uses Provo Craft's Imagine machine and the Yummy cartridge. I adore this chocolate candy image! Of course I had to put my own spin on it by adding lots of glitter, a piece of vintage lace, a glittered heart (also cut from the Imagine), a flower, button, and stamped tag! The paper is by Girl's Paperie. I added a few rhinestones as a final finishing touch!
My motto......layer, layer, layer! Oh! And add glitter too! ; )

I am taking Kyle to the private high school today for a tour and a chance to meet a couple of teachers. I am hoping this will ease his anxiety for next year. I am also taking a math class again tonight as part of my continuing education. So I guess this means......another craftless night.....*sigh*

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday! Thank you, thank you for popping by!

Down on the Farm!

Good morning! What a busy weekend I've had! It was spent catching up with family, grandparents mostly. Saturday night was spent celebrating my mom's birthday. (65) Sunday we celebrated Brian's Gram's birthday.....91 years old! Following that was a Palm Sunday lunch with my dad, sister, niece, and nephew. My crafty time has still been limited, but I did manage to find a few hours Friday night to create. It felt good to get back into the swing of things.....even if just for a little while. I used Crafty Secret's Farm Chicks set. It is such an adorable set.....even if I am a city girl at heart! ; ) The chickens were colored with Copic Markers. For the ground I used an old washcloth and my blending solution. Just wet the washcloth with the blending solution and dab the ground. It gives it nice texture and blended the sky and ground a bit together. The entire image was cut out with the Spellbinder's Eyelet Squares. I threaded twine through the holes to give it a rustic feel. For the Grade A image, I used Copic markers as well as Prisma colored pencils. I glossy accented the eggs. The stick pin was created with an open circle stick pin and a brad. I took the prongs off the brad and simply glued the brad to the stick pin.
The papers are just scraps I had in my stash. Some Graphic 45, Daisy D's.........remember Daisy D's? And yep......still have some of their paper!

It is a rainy Monday here.......gloomy, with snow in the forecast. Yuck. I really, really need spring to arrive! This icky weather is driving me crazy!

Hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks for popping in!

I Could Use One of These About Now!

After yesterday's uplifting and positive post, I found it rather ironic that I had such a terrible day! As I was driving to school yesterday, my van kept getting louder and louder......my exhaust pipe was coming off underneath my van! Many of you who visit me often know how many problems I've had with this van. It is constant.....and draining......and extremely frustrating! So a teacher I work with followed me to the auto shop and they were able to replace my catalytic converter and mid pipe for a mere four hundred bucks! And on top of that? My air conditioning has a hole in it. The mechanic told me he couldn't fix it because of the way the van was converted, he can't "get to it." So now I will have to take it to the mobility place.....which takes forever! They don't rush to get you your van back. I had this very same problem 3 years ago and they had my van for a week! Grrrrrr!

Anyway, enough of my griping...... I created a card that brings me back to Jamaica.....warm, sunny, no worries........

I made this fruity little drink with my Gypsy and the Pack Your Bags cartridge. It was welded together and cut at 5". I used papers from Pink Paislee and Imaginisce. The little lemons were cut directly from the Imaginisce paper, glossy accented, and sprinkled with glitter. I cut the flower using the Mother's Day Bouquet. The tag was cut from the Sentimental's cartridge and stamped on with a Papertrey Stamp. I cut a piece of transparency and inked and glittered the edges a bit. I placed a piece of yellow vellum behind it. : )
I think me needs one of these fruity numbers this weekend......if not maybe an ice cold beer will do the trick! ; ) Today is a new day......a better day. (knock on wood!) ; )

Have a great weekend!

Some Words to Live by.....

Hi there! I actually managed to stay up past 10 o'clock last night. Yay me! I got a few things done that I had been procrastinating on and now that they are done, I can spend some much needed time creating! When I uploaded my pictures here today, I realized I took really.....really lousy pictures of them. A bit dark. A bit blurry. I have no time to retake them, so just bare with me!

I created a mini card using some new papers from Pink Paislee. The sentiment is directly from their paper line and I loved the meaning behind it so I wanted it to stand out on my card. I cut some of the floral paper with fine scissors to use as accents at the bottom.....such pretty stuff! The negative slide is from the Crafty Secret's Photo Studio stamp set. It was stamped on a transparency with Staz On ink. I think it is such a fun little accent piece! I added a couple of glittery butterflies........a few rhinestones.....some lace.....twine......

Some wonderful words to live by no?

Have a wonderful Thursday! The weekend is quickly approaching! : )

Sweet

Good morning and happy Wednesday to you! My crafty time this past week has been a bit limited. For some strange reason I am so very tired in the evenings. This is so unlike me, because I can usually stay up pretty late and still get up early in the morning. Maybe it's a sign of old age! ( I will be forty this year! Eeek!) Anyway, I am definitely not cranking things out like I usually do!

I do have a Crafty Secrets card to share with you today that uses an image from the Creative Scraps, Farm Fresh collection. I surrounded this sweet image with a Tattered Angels chipboard frame that was sprayed in Silver Glimmer Mist. I then added a coat of glossy accents to it and sprinkled clear glitter over it. I inked the edges in black to give it a bit more depth. I used a scalloped Spellbinder's die to matte the image and a larger oval to create a shallow shadow box. I added a quilled daisy and some twine to dress it up a bit. The sentiment was stamped on a jewelry tag. I am heading to a class tonight as part of my continuing education classes.....so it's going to be a bit of a long day! Brian is on daddy duty! ; )

Have a wonderful day!
