Pumpkin Spice Anyone?

Hello!

I don't want to start a war or anything, but are you a pumpkin spice fanatic? Are you the person who the first day it comes out, you are in the drive-thru giddy with excitement?  ;)  Well, that's me....LOL.  I love summer, don't get me wrong, but fall is my jam.  Something about it gets me.  The cooler weather, fall clothes, comfort foods.........

I created these little fall inspired treat boxes from Whimsy's Gnome So Thankful stamp set.  The image was stamped in Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink on water color paper.  I used a no line water coloring technique with my Karin Brush Markers. Once it was dry I splattered it with white gouache. 

I cut out the image using the Pierced and Stitched Circles Die set.  The treat box was from the Mini Treat Box Die.  I adhered the circular image using Crafty Foam Tape.  I added the sentiment, a pearl, twine and a couple of leaves from the Build-a-Pumpkin Patch Die set.

Lost in Space!

Hello there!

I am a bit behind in posting this...but this new die set from Whimsy Stamps is so much fun! It is called UFO, appropriately named! LOL. I chose a "nonalien" color scheme and opted for fun bright colors to coordinate with the Taffy Papers.  I also used the New Revealers 2 Die set and the Slimline Taffy paper. 

I felt I needed a sentiment so I spelled out hello using the Cutie ABC die set.  I used a bit of vellum under the space ship and added pearls. That's okay right? Pearls on a spaceship? ;)  For a final touch I added a few teeny gold stars and clear gems.

Aliens Anyone?

Hello friends! Today is Whimsy Stamps August release! I love how fresh and innovative Whimsy is! Look at these cute aliens!  Can aliens be this cute? ;)  This set is called, Space Minions. I added glossy accents to their eyes and set them aside to dry.  I used the  Celestial Zodiac Background on black paper and embossed it in white.  I wanted to ground these little minions, so I used the frames from the Slimline Observation Die. 

Behind the main image I wanted to add interest to the white card stock, it seemed to start otherwise, so I used the Infinity Stencil. I tied some string in the middle and popped up the panel using Crafty Foam Tape.   I wanted to add a few additional stars, so I used my leftover stars from the Slimline Stars Background Die.  I keep my extras in a little coffee cup.  :) I added Stickles to each one and popped them on my card for a bit of extra sparkle.

More Gnomes!

Hello!

I have another card using Whimsy's new Gnome so Thankful set! I actually have several more projects using this adorable set. ;) I have definitely been on a water coloring kick lately and used the same no line technique I used on my last card.  I used my Karin Brushmarkers and then the same cloud stencil I had created with the Grass and Cloud Edger Die set and some heavy duty card stock. 

I layered everything with Crafty Foam Tape.  I added ribbon and a button I think I've had in my stash since the beginning of time. ;) And as usual I added a teeny heart from the Sprinkletz collection.

I am so happy that this summer we have been getting to see Cort on a regular basis.  I can not tell you how much seeing her smile and hearing her giggle has made my heart so happy. I pray each day that we get to continue to see her, hug her, and love on her.  The world is a scary unpredictable place and she is my ray of sunshine. <3

 

Sweeet Gnome

Hello!

Today is August 1st, which means, 1. the summer is going waaaaaay too fast and 2. it is Whimsy's New Release day!  I am much more excited about the latter.  ;) This adorable set is called, Gnome so Thankful.  I did a no line water coloring technique.  I masked this cutie and added clouds behind him using the Grass and Cloud Edger Die set.  I cut my clouds into heavy cardstock and used it as my stencil. 

I cut the main image out using the Rounded Rectangles Die set.  I adhered the layers using Crafty Foam Tape.   The teeny hearts were cut from the Puppy Paws Die set.  I think they add just a sweet touch.

Water Colored Flowers

Hello friends!

I am sharing a water colored card today using the new Flower Wishes set by Whimsy Stamps. I chose a no line coloring technique and my Karin Brushmarkers.  I like to swipe the markers on an acrylic block and pick up the paint with a brush.  I gave it a good splatter of black dots.  I also added a bit of colored pencil detail to give the flowers a bit more depth. I colored an additional flower and leaves and fussy cut it out.  I adhered it to the top of the vase. I used the Nested Hexagon Die set to create a shaped card. 

The background paper is part of the 6 x 6 Fabulous Florals.  I also added a silver sparkly Love.  And of course, last but not least, a teeny heart to finish the card off.
