I Might Actually SEND a card!

My family thinks it is a riot that I make all these cards but rarely send them! I hoard them, I admit it. I spend so much time on them, that the thought of them ending up in someone's garbarge can just makes me sad! So I am very selective who I send them to! This card WILL be sent to a good friend of mine who just bought a house! Yep, I will part with this one........ : )

I used Making Memories paper and the Crafty Secret's Home Sweet Home set. The image was colored with my Copics. When I was done, I cut it using my Nesties and then applied Crystal Effects to the image. While it was wet, I sprinkled it with an ultrafine glitter. I love the sparkle it has IRL!

See the "felt" scalloped circle behind the image? Do you know what that is? (Of course that was a rhetorical question.....you can't really answer me... ) I took the little coasters from our hotel room a couple of months ago. You know the ones placed under the coffee cups? Do you know which ones I am talking about? (.........another rhetorical question....) I TOOK them and thought, "Hey, I could USE these for a scrappy page or card!" Yep, I did. I really packed them in my suitcase and took those babies home with me.

I am really starting to worry myself......... Do the rest of you do that too? Hoard stuff from EVERYWHERE you go, thinking it could be used creatively.....some how? Please tell me you do! (Lie if you have to!)

I am working on a technique that will be posted this weekend at Noel's blog. We are celebrating NSD! I'll give you more info. on it tomorrow! So I better get my butt off this computer and start creating!

Happy (almost) Wednesday! : )

Love your card. And, I am the same way -- I hate to give away something that I made, but sometimes I have to. And, yes, I too have the sickness of saving and repurposing items for my crafts;)

How funny. I'm gla I'm not the only one who holds on to odds & ends to craft with. :) I hoard cars, too. :P

This is so cute...what a great mix of cards. I don't horde cards...of course, I am a big fan of pitching stuff (ask my kids...I barely save 10% of their art work...of course, they are coloring, cutting and pasting all the darn time!).

I sure do.... and Joe thinks that I am a little strange when I grab something and he looks at me with a what in the world are you going to do with that? I love your card and I too felt that way when I sent a handmade card. I always worried someone would just throw it away. I have framed some of mine that people have sent to me! After all they are a piece of art work!!! Hoping that you and Cort are feeling better!!!! Happy Wednesday!

Fabulous card. She's gonna love. If it were me.... I'd frame it!

Hoard you ask? Heck, anything that's free and not nailed down somehow makes it to my craft room. I'm always looking at my feet to see what's on the ground! It's called "artist" LOL

Sounds like you're feeling much better - Yay!

Hugs,

Your friend will love this card! I don't blame you for being choosy about who gets your cards. There is nothing worse than giving someone one of your beautiful handmade cards and then two weeks later they ask you to get their cell phone out of their purse and you reach in and find your card on the bottom of the purse all scrunched up! Well they sure cherished that card!

This is so cool Michele! I had to laugh about you "taking the coasters" LOL One man's trash is another man's treasure right??? Way to "go green" and reuse/recycle those coasters....

What fun paper!!!

Confession: I only send my cards to people I deem "card-worthy". Those who frame my cards get my best cards :) The least appreciative folks get a simple hand-made card, kwim?

Love the coloring on your card, very pretty. I have a ton of cards I mean to send out, but don't. Oy! Glad to know more of "us" exist! LOL!

Wow! I LOVE this card! I love the glitter, and the 'coaster' story is hysterical, but 'no' I never would have thought it was a coaster, I thought it was a nestie or something. You are so creative. Love your blog!

This is beautiful!!! I know your friend is going to cherish this...so, no worries about it going into the trash. Okay?

I was happy to read that you snag up odds and ends from various places in the hopes it will make it onto a card:o) It is nice knowing one is not alone. LOL!! In fact, I think I have a few of those same coasters...now, to dig them out of hiding.

Thank you for the sweet comment you left on my blog. It helped to brighten my day and led me here to your awesome site!

Hugs!
Carolyn

This card is ADORABLE-you should send it! Love that technique you used on the image-that is so cool!
I know what you mean about not sending cards...I have PILES of cards in my craft room collecting dust....I hate the idea of someone receiving one of my cards and then throwing it out! lol

Hee hee...I do that kind of stuff too! It used to embarass the heck out of the Hubby but he actually *gets* it now. He even grabs things he thinks I might use now!

Oh - I come from a long line of hoarders. You just never know what you could use something for!!! And, I know how you feel about giving cards. I once spent an hour on a card and made matching wrapping paper. The card was read and it got scrunched up with the paper and deposited in the trash. I wish I had a mirror to see the horror on my face. I too am now choosey about giving my cards!
