Frosting is the Best Part.....

.......of the cake that is! Think about the time and energy it takes to frost a pretty cake. (Ok, I admit, I am NOT a baker, and don't frost many cakes......but I DO admire those who do! LOL!) There are classes on how to decorate cakes and there are books......and an entire aisle at Michaels dedicated to cake tips and such. But let me tell you how I frost a cake.........ready?

Simply spread the frosting (store bought of course) with a knife.......and take some pretty sprinkles and shake them on top of the frosting. (What did you expect? I told you I don't bake! )

OK, enough with the baking tips for today! Let's get to my card shall we? I used the Girlfriend's Crafty Secret's Creative Scraps for the main image. I found these cute birthday hats at Michaels, they are from K & Company. I wanted to create the look of frosting around the image, so I took texture paste and ran it along the edge with my finger. Then I took my "sprinkles" (beads) and lightly shook them onto my frosting. : )
I actually might have to bake this weekend......it is my hubby's 41st birthday. If I decide to bake (And I use that term loosely.....) I will post a picture!!! You can check out my cake decorating skills.......yea right.
Have a great weekend everyone! And as always, I appreciate you stopping by!

Great idea to use the paste and sprinkles. It really looks real!

...I'm a frosting-out-of-the-jar kinda girl myself. ;)
