A Whirlwind!

This weekend just flew right by! We accomplished a lot and took a bit of time to have fun in between. My scrap room is just about done. Curtains are hung, pillows are fluffed.....so I will be taking pics this week! (Before it gets messy! ) Kyle's room is painted, new desk stained and varnished, new comforter on the bed. Tomorrow we are hoping to get his desk set up with his computer and such. I don't know about your kids, but mine is a pack rat.... he saves EVERYTHING! It took us hours to go through his toys, DVD's, games, etc and figure out which ones to donate. I have to admit that I got a bit of a lump in my throat because I told him that he needed to donate some of his stuffed animals to a needy child. (He is in 7th grade you know...... ) It was like he was donating an appendage or something......he had such a hard time getting rid of a few stuffed animals. When he finally decided on several to give away.....I took them from him. As I was placing them in the bag, I couldn't help thinking that my baby is growing up. These are those first steps to adolescence...then adulthood......*sigh* What a wreck I will be on his wedding day huh?

This card was created using Crafty Secret's Creative Scraps. These are fabulous for making a fast but pretty card! I paired it up with some Jenni Bowlin papers and crepe paper. I did some sewing and distressing. The buttons are Papertrey Ink.

Hope your Tuesday is fantastic! : )

Michelle, I know what you mean. My 23 year old just moved out on his own and when I suggested he throw out the bag of stuffed animals he had accumulated since childhood he looked at me in shock! He wasn't having any of it!

OMGosh, Michelle! Can totally relate to that Kyle moment! LOL! Both our boys are the same age and yes, my little guy can't part with his friends...they are in the basement (slowly working their way out the door to be donated...). Here's to a great (short) week!! xo

Imagine what the world would be like if nobody gave up any of their "stuff" over the years? Good for you being strong and knowing when to bring about change. It's a good thing! and so is this pretty card! I love the beautiful fruit image!!

This is a wonderful card Michele! Sounds like things have been crazy for you lately! My kids are still young so I don't think I'll be doing all that for a while - heaven help me when that comes around! :)

Oh, we just did this too. My son is in 4th grade and he chose some stuffies to donate and I was putting them in the bag and thought..."Oh no, now they can't breath." It took me a while to remind myself they are just indeed stuffies :(
Love your card, it's so bright and I'm anxiously awaiting the new scraproom pics!

Gorgeous card Michele, definitely has the vintage feel! You make me tired just thinking about everything you got accomplished - I totally did NOTHING of any consequence this weekend and now I feel guilty, lol! *STAMPIN HUGS* Alex

love this card! can't wait to see the new room. I have been on my girls for a month about donating some of their items so we can get started on their room remodels- I am jealous you are almost done. I dread the thought of it all.

What a gorgeous card! All the lovely details! My baby is 33, married and long gone, but I still get choked up when I'm cleaning around the house and come across something little he left behind - found a box with a bear I made him and some legos the other day and bawled for an hour! ~chris
