Why We Blog......

Why do you blog? Sometimes I ask myself this question and have to think back to where it all began 4 years ago. I started this lil' blog on a complete whim. I really knew nothing of the blog world at all. My MIL actually knew more about them then me! So one morning I decided to take the plunge and start this corner of the cyberworld. No one really visited....no one really left comments, and I think the only people who actually read this blog were my mom and MIL! I started visiting other blogs which got people to know I existed......and the journey began. I still use this blog as a tool to connect with my family and friends. Sometimes in "real" life I mention something about Cort or Kyle and my family/friends say, "Oh yea! I read about that on your blog!" I love the connectivity it gives me to all of you.....and it is heartwarming to read your comments and e-mails when I post about my kids and their/my struggles. It is comforting to know that some of the things I feel, you feel...that we are just moms who happen to create and post our stuff on blogs.
To celebrate each of you and as a way of saying thank you for joining me on this crazy, crafty journey, I have two cartridges to give away!  I will randomly select ONE winner to receive both. They are favorites of mine.....they make my heart go pitter patter......
Giant Flowers.....
....and Victorian Romance....
What do you have to do?  Just become a follower if you are not already and tell me why you blog.  I promise, cross my heart, to come pay you a visit! I have been a wee bit neglectful in that department lately, and for that I apologize! Also, if you would like your name entered a second time, paste my blog button on your blog (located in the upper right hand corner).
I will pick a winner on Wednesday night at 10 PM CST.
Have a wonderful day!!!

Michele,
I think I took on blogging to share inspiration, showcase my family at times and what we do in our everyday lives that may be of interest to others and to exploit my love for birds. Every year for the last two I have a pair of doves next in this large tree to the side of our home which I find amazing to watch how they next, how they teach their young and how they release and let them go when the parenting is done. Thanks for letting me share!

The first thing I ever posted was a "Cute as a Button" welded Gypsy file to share, back in 2009. It's become a great way to share crafty-ness with like minded folks, especially because most of the people I interact on a face to face basis don't really get why Distress Inks are one of the best things since sliced bread. Thanks for the chance to win these two awesome carts that have been on my wishlist :D

Thanks so much for the opportunity to win 2 carts (that make my heart go pitter patter too)!

I have a little blog because most of the projects I make leave my home. With a blog, I need to make sure a get a good photo instead of settling for a quick snapshot.

I've learned so much from your blog and your Cricut Circle blog posts. Thank you for providing such great insights and lessons!

What an awesome giveaway....I decided to start a blog a little over a year ago because all my friends thought I should! And, I wanted to be able to participate in challenges, that was what pushed me over the edge!! Since then I've joined design teams, won a couple of challenges and look forward to the camaraderie that results from connecting with other bloggers. It makes me feel connected to the world, even though I'm normally just an at home mom most of the time. ;)

I started blogging a couple of years ago as a place to share my thoughts. Then I let it go because I could not figure out how to find followers. Then I found the wonderful world of scrapbooking and decided to meld the two worlds together. My blog is not just about my crafting but about my life and my crafting together. I love to write and craft, so I try to blend those things together. I would love for you to come check out my blog: confessionsofaproverbs31.blogspot.com/

I started my blog as a way to stay connected to my family and share some craft projects with them. Now I usually just post craft related items. It's fun for me to see what everyone makes and to make friends with people I wouldn't have met other wise.
I LOVE the "I Blog" charm, with the pearl it looks so old and charming.

I'm a new follower. I will be adding your badge to my blog after I finish this comment. Truthfully, I started my blog to enter a contest, you had to have a blog. After that it sat there neglectred for months. I didn't know what to do with it.Finally a very helpful lady, Jeannie Phillips, walked me through posting pics of my projects. She was one of the first blogs I started visiting. Her work is amazing. Anyway, I started posting my cards and bits of info about my life and times. I have only a few followers, for 3 years, compared to most. It has allowed me to share with people with the same kind of interests. Besides the internet, there isn't anyone else around me with the same interests. I love that I can go back and look at what I've done.

I have a blog but have not added to it for almost a year. I'm not a photographer so didn't share pictures. Also I became disenchanted with some bloggers. One blog I was following begged for comments and even threatened if comments weren't left ~ like she could really do something!! Blogging and commenting takes lots of time and I felt like I didn't have that so quit for the time being. I do read your blog every time a new post in there. Oh and I do want these carts!! Both of them have been on my list to buy along with many others! I've been in the Cricut world about six months so don't have many carts yet. I have only 17 so far but use them all. I do love all your inspiration ` especially your Cricut projects.

I don't blog but I discovered I love to look at other peoples blogs, specifically cardmakers. I have totally quit purchasing mags because what cardmakers have online are much more up-to-date and interesting cards to see. Also, no more mags taking up space. I used to make cards and sell them but with the economy going downhill, I quit, as my mojo took a long-term hiatus too. I know in my heart this is a temporary thing since I look at lots and lots of blogs everyday. Sometimes I like what I see so much, I actually purchase something. When my cardmaking mojo returns, I am planning on starting a blog. Always, a crafter at heart...

I started blogging because the Design Team that I worked on at a store blogged ( I needed to keep up ...still trying !). Then I noticed my favorite designers blogged so I wanted to be part of that creative community. I wanted to "share" in their creative journeys. The store closed where I was working we all scathered so now we keep in contact by blog. I love journaling my own creative journey/life. Blogging also helps me "process" things in my own life, family and friendships. I'm greatful for All the varoius connections and many talents/gifts shared and the "growth" that it has affored me ( I'm still trying to learn ALL this technical stuff setting up a blog posting ... wow so much to learn). Bloggers like yourself have been my inspiration and encouragement Thank You :)

I first started blogging to be able to link up project. It quickly turned into a place to archive my work. Now, it is for those two reasons and SO much more! It really is a place for me to channel my creative energy.

I don't blog yet but I have been toying with the idea of starting one... I just can't imagine who would read it LOL!
Perhaps if I win the cartridges, it would give me the push I need ;-)
I love your blog and have been a follower for a while.

I don't blog, because of the time factor, and yes I find it a little scary! I prefer to snoop through others and look at all their lovely creations! Maybe one day I will overcome my fear! I love your projects, I see you all the time on the circle and you are amazing!

I read your blog daily and today resonated with me so much! I started blogging a couple years ago to enter a father's day card challenge on the My Pink Stamper blog (the first crafts blog I started reading and how I found out about you I believe). I feel now how you felt in the beginning. I have 61 followers and most are FB friends and not crafters so I don't get comments often. It feels like I am doing this for myself sometimes.

I blog because I am an avid crafter that likes to share all the crafty goodness I create. My work has been made to make people scream, cry, do a happy dance... so I blog because my craftiness touches lives. I started a business based on this premise. But it is very slow going. So I blog to inspire and to show my range in hopes that I will get some orders. This year I am determined to apply for and win a spot on a design team. I love what you create and am constantly inspired. Keep up the good work. Thanks for the giveaway! L_borde at yahoo. com

I don't have either of these cartridges. I am in the "thinking I want to do a blog" stage. Yours is always great and I am not sure I could keep one up or have time to make enough projects, but I am sure I want to try. When I get it set up, I will definitely grab your button. Thanks for a chance to win.

Why I blog? Well, it is not because my husband loves that I am a blogger, that's for sure! hahahaha (I'm not sure he knows my blog address or how to get to it).

I blog because it is a way for my little projects to be seen and not be forgotten. I cannot tell you how many things I made in the past when I was a seamstress that are such distant memories but took days of my life. If only people blogged by then! Now, it is fun to look through my gallery and know that my little body of work is available to share... and so I won't forget!

I love teaching what I have learned on a project too, and my blog allows me to do that!

And I love visiting blogs too and getting to know crafters a bit better on their own terms. That really makes it special!

Thank you for this fun contest. It has been fun reading what everyone has to share!

I have a blog but I confess that I am not super great at keeping up with it. I started it so that I'd have somewhere to talk about something other than children and raising children ;). I mostly post crafts and recipes there!

I would love to win GIANT FLOWERS (oh my goodness!!!) and I would be happy to share Victorian Romance so that another person could win too :) THANK YOU!!!!

Hey, Michele, I love your layout in the new Cricut Mag! I remember you talking about your wonderful trip to celebrate your birthday. The cityscape on your lo in CM caught my eye, and i noticed it was your creation. Very cool!
now, to answer your question, Why do you blog?, i don't. It amazes me how you, with your family, full time job, full time crafting, et al handles the full time job of blogging. and there are many people, like you with an overflowing life, that adds maintaining a blog to their daily tasks. I really love being a follower so i never miss your new postings. Thank you for sharing your wonderful creations and your lovely family with us.

I started my blog to share my creative projects with family and friends but my following has grown a little beyond that. There are several people who I now consider to be blog friends. They always comment on my posts and I comment on theirs. I have been a bad blogger lately but I am going to write a post right now! Thanks for the chance. I have enjoyed following your blog for a while now even if I don't always have a chance to comment.

HI! I've been a member of your blog for awhile now and I love the inspiration that I get from you! I blog for many reasons. I want something for my family to view and a little remembrance for them. I love to meet new scrappy friends and visit other people's blogs and get inspiration and I hope they can do the same from mine. I love to share my work with others, share interesting techniques I've found, share sites or challenges that I've found! It's a great way to stay connected! Thanks so much for the opportunity to win these cartridges! They both look great! I've made a promise to myself to start using my Cricut more and this would be the perfect thing to get me started on that promise!

I am becoming a follower thru google reader. I started a blog just to share my work for others to get inspired. The last year or two my blog has been neglected because I care for my Mother in my home. Used to also care for my Dad in my home until he passed away. I enjoyed blogging, it gave me a feeling of accomplishing something I truly enjoy. I really need to get back to it, hopefully soon I can do that, as my mom seems to be doing somewhat better.
I have been trying to win these on ebay with no luck so would love to win them here, thanks so much for the chance.

I recently started blogging about my cards to watch my progress as I learn different techniques, learn to use new tools. It's a way of measuring my progress during this journey. I'm having a ball.

I had to smile at your comment about having no followers. My blog is about a year old, and I have seen it slowly grow, but I keep watching that number in the hopes of it increasing (smile). I started blogging because it was a way to share my creativity. I have crafting friends who also have blogs, and we share through our blogs. It was also a way to enter different challenges which always ask for a blog link. It is my dream that others will like my creativity enough to want to follow me, so I always try to give details about what I use and the process. Thank you for this opportunity to win those two lovely cartridges.

I follow your blog and love it, although I've not been very active in checking for the past year. You are so very creative and I do like reading when I can have the time. I started my blog so that I could enter my projects on the Circut Circle Blog and on the circle forum when the circle first started. I'm not much good at updating it and keeping current. For the past year or so I've had too many things on my plate to take the time to write or even enter my projects on the circle. Hopefully, things will settle down and I can start fresh. I thank you for your lovely giveaway!

I blog (once in a blue moon) to store videos of items I have made. I constantly use blogs like yours for inspiration, and I am recording my process/progress in mini album creating on mine in the hopes that if someone stumbles across what I did, that they may get one idea or one tidbit of info that might help/inpire them, just like all the web blogs do for me! Thanks for this chance at the awesome cartridge giveaway! I am a follower!

I started blogging for a lot of reasons - I started making cards and wanted to enter them in challenges, so a blog was certainly helpful. Another reason was because I wanted to be able to see the cards and LO's all in one place (I am horrible at putting my LO's in albums!!) And I wanted to be involved more in the blogging community.. once I started reading and being inspired by blogs, I figured I should try it out! I haven't put as much into it as I originally planned, but someday ;) Thanks for the giveaway, I desperately need something other than the cart that came with my Cricut :) Have a great day!
