Crafty Secrets & Bitten by the Bug!

This is the card I created for Bitten by the Bug's next challenge. We had to create a card using the "blurb" from the George cartridge. (Cricut machine) I immediately thought of this new set I bought from Crafty Secrets! I thought this woman looked like she was thinking about something.......Maybe about buying some new scrap supplies?

The paper is from Cosmo Cricket. I colored her in with my Copics and added a pearl for her earring!

Tuscan Rose card!

I had a little free time this weekend because my hubby is out of town on a golf trip, which incidentally has not been starting off too well! Here is the story...if you don't want to read about it just skip to the next paragraph! He and a friend of his were staying at my Dad's house in Michigan for one night and then headed to Battle Creek. He and his friend played a round of golf, came back to the house and fell asleep. He went into the kitchen for a drink and stepped right into a puddle of water! The refrigerator had died! So he had to call my Dad and my Step-mom to tell them this bit of news! He and his friend transferred all of the food into the garage fridge.....he always says it is a pressure to stay at someone else's house! So it gets better.....He and his friend leave to go to Battle Creek. They are driving on the highway when they see 2 deer. My hubby Brian told his friend to be careful cuz they always travel in groups. So they slowed down, Brian reached down for his cup of coffee and .....BAM! They hit a 3rd deer running across! He told me a little while later that it was a gruesome site! I won't go into detail but can you imagine hitting a 400 lb deer at 45 mph! Fortunately, it WAS a rental car, AND no one was hurt, AND the car is damaged but drivable! So they went to the police station and filed an accident report. He was quite shaken but OK. Of course all I could think about was, what if they had taken his little Saturn? He would have been killed for sure....I guess this makes you appreciate life a little more....Because in one day life can really change.

Now, about the card....I love these images from Tuscan Rose! Patty had the most gorgeous collage sheets! I decided to use the small flower images like packets of seeds. I cut my own envelope out of red paper. The paper is from Daisy D and Cosmo Cricket. The garden tool border is cut from my Cricut! Do you see the cute twist tie? I have had that for the last 6 or 7 years and decided to resurrect it! I love using some old stuff!

My First Acetate card......

I saw a card made with Acetate over at Stamping in the Moonlight I was inspired to try my own. I stamped the ship by PSX with my Charcoal Palette Noir Ink. I stamped it on watercolor paper. I used my watercolor pencils and SU! blending pen. I used my Coluzzle to cut the image as well as the matte. I distressed the edges. I mounted it on the acetate and cut 2 more circles. One is behind the front image to hide the adhesive and the other is on the inside to write the sentiment. When the card is closed all the circles line up! I used twine instead of ribbon, since it was for a man's birthday. I felt the acetate was a little plain so I stamped it with a wave stamp by All Night Media. I used Brilliance Ink and embossed it with clear powder. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

Crafty Secrets Card!

I bought this set from Crafty Secrets. I had a little trouble with how I was going to use it though. It certainly is not a cutesy image. So I grabbed some Daisy D paper and a Basic Grey frame....I colored the fairy in with my Prisma's and Gamsol. I added some glitter to her wings. I stamped my scalloped circle with a very pretty stamp by Inkadinkadoo. I added pearls to the circle from Ellen Hutson's store. The ribbon was from my stash so I really don't know who makes it! I did some sewing too, although you really can't see it very well in this picture!

Check out Bitten by the Bug's Contest for a chance to win a free cartridge!

This card was made for Bitten by the Bug's Challenge. We had to use the George Cartridge and use the heart. It had to have polka dots too! I was running behind on time and whipped this card up pretty quick! I used Basic Grey's Gypsy line, which is really bright paper! (Wear your sunglasses while looking at this card....LOL!) I cuttlebugged the green paper. The sentiment is Karen Foster's snap stamps. The scalloped edge is actually paper from Creative Imaginations! I love their paper! Thanks for stopping by today!

I tried making cards today......I made 4 and threw 3 away....they were UGLY with a capital U! I don't know what is wrong with me....card challenged lately! SO here is the ONE card I did not throw away! I stamped this image from my friend and have no idea what set it is from....I think it is SU! Not sure so if you know please leave a comment. The sentiment was from Crafty Secrets. The DP is Basic Grey's Gypsy line. I colored the cup in with my Copics. (Which by the way, Hobby Lobby is NOT cheap...don't bother going there....$5.85 per marker!) The background stamp is by Hampton Art. I'm not even sure I am crazy about this card either......

On a different note....I finished all 5 pages for the Memory Makers Master's Contest! I will be mailing them off later this week!

My First Card with MFT's!!!

I wasn't gonna do it....I kept seeing cute cards with the stamps from My Favorite Things....I tried not to cave...I really did.....to no avail!!! I CAVED BIG TIME! I ONLY bought two sets....see the control I have? I bought this new fall set and decided since so many people were starting their Christmas cards that I could certainly start some fall cards! I colored the image in with my Prisma's and Gamsol. I chalked the "dirt" and inked the edges. The DP is from EK Success. The polk-a-dot tape is from Heidi Swapp. Did you notice the buttons? The thread color was originally white...I colored it brown with my Copics! I also added some polka-a-dots!

Just an FYI...for those of you that have a Hobby Lobby anywhere...they are carrying the Copic Markers. They have them 25% off this week. I will go tomorrow and check their prices! Simone....you might have to check...maybe it will only cost ya half a kidney...LOL!!
