Boys and Their Toys….

Good morning to you! I was lucky enough to spend most of the day crafting yesterday. Cort was at school, Brian at work, and Kyle caddying. It was quiet and my craft room was beckoning me to spend time with it. I was able to get 6 projects done! Now maybe for some of you that's a drop in the bucket....but for me..".the slowest scrapper on the planet"...it was huge! B

I have another LO to share that was published in the April issue of Northridge's Cricut Magazine. I used the Boys Will be Boys cartridge.  I repeated the word boys using white paper, inking the edges subtly and placing them on additional white paper. It gives the page texture without overwhelming the LO. I added a few trucks....a scalloped edge, a couple of whimsical brads, and the page was done.
The pics are of my son who was 14 at the time, playing cars with his little cousin, Alex (age 6). It was cute to watch them interact despite the age difference!
What are you up to today? Anything fun?

Me.....

Who I am…….

Sometimes I reflect on who I’ve become….from that awkward kid….teenager…insecure mom….to the person I am today. More confident….happier…and blessed.  Blessed to have the life I have…even with its ups and downs.

Life has thrown its share of curve balls. But I am a better, stronger, more patient person because of it. Life's lessons have made me the person I am today.  I am not perfect. But I wake up each morning and try to be the best me I can be.

Published in the May issue of Cricut Magazine.

Have a great day my friends! a

Rainy Day Duck

Good morning! I hope you had a great weekend! We have been in the hundreds for just over 5 days and finally a cool front rolled in and gave us some relief yesterday. It was nice to be able to open up the windows again and sit outside without feeling like you had walked into an oven! ; )

I have a cute new set to share with you today by Crafty Secrets.  It is called Animal Party. (It will be available tomorrow, July 10th)  I loved pulling out the Copic Markers and just coloring.  There is something very cathartic about coloring.  I felt like I hadn't done it for awhile and was just a tad rusty.  But it's a bit like riding a bike... : )
Who can resist a polka dotted umbrella? ; )
I used several Spellbinder's dies to matte my duck.
I stamped the sentiment and placed it in this little metal picture frame. I added a bit of glossy accents and slipped it under the knot of my bows. I snuck a little bitty purple flower charm in there too!

I am heading out to breakfast with a friend today....then off to Archiver's to scrap with more friends, and then I am going to Cortney's school to pick her up for therapy.  A busy, busy day!
Just the way I like 'em! : )
Have a great one!

JustRite's New Release- Day 5!

Good morning to you!  Today is the last day of JustRite's new releases! I hope you've enjoyed all of the new stamps!  I have a card that uses the new With Gratitude set. I used my Tim Holtz Distress Markers to color the sentiment and both frames.  I love the soft water colored look.  My little flower and leaves were also colored with the markers. : ) I cut the sentiment and frame out using Spellbinder's Antique Label's One die.   The beautiful silk ribbon is from Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply store.
I added a few pearls......and lace.....
My water colored flowers and leaves close up and personal....... ; )

Here is the set in its entirety.  It is a must have.....it has all the important sayings all in one set!
Be sure to stop by the  other designer's projects.....such a talented group they are!

I just have to share my very proud girl......she loves, absolutely loves to swim without her tube.  She is fearless in the water and has learned the very important skill of blowing bubbles while under water.  She sits on the ladder and splashes daddy for awhile.  (which is GREAT physical therapy for her!) Then she "jumps" off the ladder into the water.  She tries so hard to kick and swim to him.  (Who is right there to catch her!)  I love to see her little body free and moving.........so much better than sitting in a wheelchair all the time!

JustRite's New Release-Day Four!

Good morning to you! I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July holiday!  Our town does a big parade and fireworks show every year, so we attended that and watched the fireworks from our back yard.....we are lucky!

Today is JustRite's Day 4 of new releases!  Today's set is a vintage inspired set that I just adore! It is called, Just Because Vintage Labels.   I colored mine in with Copics and cut it out using Spellbinder's Vintage Label and Banner die.  I cut the Eiffel Tower using my Cricut and then gave it a healthy dose of purple glitter.  The background was stamped using the Fleur De Lis stamp.
I embossed the cream card stock, and then added the ruffled ribbon.
The flower was cut using my Cricut and the left over Fleur De Lis stamped paper.
Here is the set in its entirety. Beautiful right?!

And look what's available!!! The new JustRite catalog! There is so much inspiration in this catalog and of course it shows all the brand new sets available!  Click HERE to order yours for $5.95!

JustRite's New Releases-Day Two!

Today is day two of JustRite's new July Releases! Today's set is called Christmas Miracle Ornaments. It is such a pretty set! I chose to stamp mine in Versamark and emboss it in silver. I gave it just a hint of pink coloring and distressing.  The poinsettia is from another new set being released later this week.  It was colored twice and cut out.
I used Spellbinder's oval die and Beaded Oval's die behind my ornament.
I used this gorgeous lime green satin ribbon from Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Store, and a glittery clothespin as final touches to my card.

Be sure to visit the other designers to see their fabulous creations using this set!

Lady Liberty

Good morning and happy Sunday to you!  My family and I are headed outside for a day in the pool.  It has been extremely hot here and that is really the only way to enjoy the outside.

Fourth of July is just a few days away and I wanted to share a card I made in honor of this great country. Lady Liberty is part of the Crafty Secret's American Beauty set.  I decided to be a bit nontraditional by staying away from red, white, and blue, and instead pick the green of the Statue of Liberty. I wanted to pick a color that would compliment the patina green, so I decided on cream and gray.  I gave her a bit of color using my Copic markers. The flag was stamped on kraft card stock using white ink. The stars are also part of the set. The card shape itself was cut using my Cricut.
Yep....totally lumpy and bumpy!
The edges were distressed a bit and given a think coating of glitter.

I know I said I wouldn't post more pics of Myla and bore you......but seriously as a new proud puppy mama....who can resist this face?  And I justified it since she was born on March 4th.  She will be 4 months old on July 4th!  (See how easy it was to find a reason to post more pics??) ; )

Have a great Sunday!!
