Vintage Style

Hello friends!
Today I have a card using Whimsy's new Slimline Stardust Die.  When I first started cardmaking, I loved creating with a vintage style.  Somehow I kind of got away from that, but today decided it was time to revisit that style.  I used Gesson to adhere old book paper to a white piece of cardstock.  It mutes the colors, like a white wash. Once it was dry, I used the Slimline Stardust die.  I then splattered it with black water color, used my sewing machine for the edges, and distressed the edges with scissors. I used Tim Holtz Foundry Wax in Gilded for the edges.
I used the stars to create a flower. They were cut from water color paper and given a wash of pink. The Gilded Foundry Wax was used on the edges and heat set.  I stacked them and added a vintage button to the center.  The leaves are from the Wild Weeds Die set. Those were also cut from water color paper and given a wash of greens with Foundry wax on the edges.  The sentiment is part of the Acts of Kindness stamp set.   Tulle was tucked in behind my stars and a scattering of black sequins from my stash.
It was fun going vintage on this one!

Belated Birthday Wishes!

Hello friends!
I have a quick post today using Whimsy Stamp's Doggie Naughty set.  I colored the image with Copic Markers and thought it would be cute to make the ice cream into a Bomb Pop! ;)  The background was created with strips of card stock.  A ribbon and a few gem stones completed the card.
Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Frosty Glass Die Part 2!

Welcome back to my blog!  My previous post uses Whimsy's new Frosty Glass Die as an ice cream soda.  Well today, I thought I would go more towards a beer look. Not sure if I succeeded.  LOL. Maybe I am just partial to ice cream beverages rather than alcoholic beverages! ;)  I made a shaker element with the bottom half.  The "froth" was given a coating of Versamark and coated with a puffy embossing powder.  I like the texture it gives!  I also added the new Cheers sentiment, a bit of twine, and an itty bitty flower.  The background was embossed with the Wavelengths Embossing Folder.

Be sure to pop on over to Whimsy Stamps if you haven't seen their full release!
Have a great day!

Valentine Ice Cream Soda Card!

Happy Saturday!

Whimsy Stamps had their new release yesterday and this new set called, Frosty Glass Die is perfect to create a beer themed card, but also perfect for an ice cream soda! I die cut the glass portion with Copic friendly paper and created the glass using a B000 and B01.  The foam at the top was glitterfied with Glossy accents and glitter.  I added hearts from the Slimline Hearts Background die. They were colored with Copic and given a coating of glossy accents.  They were then adhered to the top, along with a fun paper straw!

The sentiment was actually from two sets, the Acts of Kindness and Lady Bugs. A bit of red twine and silk ribbon finished off the card.
Be sure to check out Whimsy Stamp's full release!
Have a great weekend!

Luck of the Irish!

Hello friends!
Happy weekend to you! Today is my son's 26th birthday and as a married man. So hard to believe I have children that old! LOL.  Today I have a St. Patrick's Day card to share.  Because really, aren't we all a little bit Irish on St. Patrick's Day? ;)  I used Whimsy Stamp's new Shenanigans Lassie Die set.  I cut her out using several pieces of cardstock.  Her skin was cut using a Copic friendly paper and colored.  I pieced her together and added a little bow and pearl to her belt.  I stamped the new Lucky Horseshoes on aqua paper.  I situated my Lassie to top and added a few Shamrocks.  (Also colored with Copics)
A few gold sequins were added for interest.  They are part of the Champagne Confetti Mix.

If you haven't seen Whimsy's new release make sure you do! You will love everything!
